Cast of Characters, DH and I, in our 50's and adult DS 30. This is our 5th trip for the Food & Wine Fest.
We did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour today. It was wonderful. Our guide was Anial and I would recommend this to anyone. Lunch at Columbia Harbour House is included in the tour. This, along with the Tangerine Cafe, was one of the best CS of the trip.
DH and DS had the "Half Sandwich and Cup of soup" with Clam Chowder and the half "Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato". I had the "Anchors Aweigh Sandwich" too, which came with chips. DH and DS said their chowder was delicious. It was hot, thick, creamy and had lots of clams. They both loved it. The Anchors Aweigh Sandwich is a delicious fresh tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomaotes and we all enjoyed it. It is served on toasted multigrain bread and it was great. I had been looking forward to this lunch all week. We did not get dessert with our lunch. We sat upstairs and it was very peaceful right at noon. We will return here.
Dinner this evening was at Teppan Edo. We loved Teppanyaki and we were looking forward to seeing the new restaurant. I was disappointed in reading the menu before we left home that none of the scallop combinations are offered anymore.
The restaurant is lovely. I think they did a great job with the renovations. It is bright, modern, elegant and Japanese all at the same time. DH did think it was noisier than in the past.
We were seated with 2 young couples and a Private Tour guide. I enjoyed actaully meeting a Disney Private Tour guide and I chatted with her throughout our meal. It was very pleasant. You can interact with the others at your table as much or as little as you want.!
On the DDP we were told that we could have an appetizer, an entree, a dessert and a non-alcoholic drink. Nothing was said to excluded from the new menu including the sushi appetizers and the combination plates.
DH and DS both started with the "Salad (choice of dressing Ginger, Creamy Sesame or Oriental) Garden Salad". It was MUCH larger than the old salad at Teppanyaki. It was fresh and delicious. Also a choice of dressings was new. I decided to try the new "Assorted Tempura - shrimp, chicken breast and seasoned vegetables with a Japanese dipping sauce". It was really good! The tempura was hot and the dipping sauce was good. I don't like fried shrimp so DH had a bonus of getting to eat the shrimp.
I enjoyed it, but I think I might get something else next time.
We all got combinations for our entree. DH and DS had the "Asakusa - sirloin steak and large shrimp" and I had the "Nihonbashi - sirloin steak and chicken breast" All were great. The sirloin was cooked as ordered medium rare. My chicken was very moist and great. The meal is served with white rice and a trio of dipping sauces - one for meat, one for chicken and one for shrimp. I tried them all. It also includes Udon noodles, onions and zucchini. We all like the steamed rice. I did take a fork, but I also worked with the chopsticks and had fun and some success.
Our chef and servers were very good. Our drinks were refilled promptly and the chef put on a great show. He did the onion volcano, as well as juggling with the salt and pepper. Watching him slice and dice the vegtables and meats was amazing.
This was our last night and our last TS meal of our trip. Teppanyaki was always a must do for us, and Teppan Edo will be in the future. If possible, I thought it was even better than Teppanyaki.
