10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

I'm sorry!!! I even remember reading that one!!

No problem. I love your itinerary, you have done such a massive amount of work to get it looking so good. It is going to be printed off and taking pride of place in my planning folder :)

Dizney cruiser. Is your itinerary shared? Haven't completely figured my way around these boards yet?

:yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

Though don't kill me but....I need time to slow down just a wee bit . It feels like this month has just flown by and things are getting crazy again at work and at home and I still have so much to do!

:coffee:
My assignment is to bring home the spreadsheet listing what we need to wear each night so we can start packing . . . I'll let you know how that goes, but if history it repeats itself, I will be stressing the week before . . .

I think it's not a competition against anyone. Not sure though but l read somwhere that they give out several with a limit of medals. :confused3

popcorn::
Oh OK . . . Last year I was walking past the finish line (probably eating at the time . . .) and it looked like everyone was getting medals - but it could have been at the beginning . . .

Tip of the Day:
I don't know why this never occured to me, but with only 2 in our stateroom, it is probably not as needed as some of your staterooms. . .

Someone on my cruise last year had posted this to the group: Rather than forming a long line to use the shower at night while getting ready for dinner, one or more of you can use the showers in the spa. I'm not sure if there is an age minimum for the locker rooms or not, but at least everyone 18 or older can use it free of charge.

Even with the two of us, on days that we chose to spend as much pool time as possible, I would hit the shower before heading back to the room (just brought shorts and a tshirt to change into), and then when i got the room, all I had to do was get dressed . . .

I ran it a few years back but got nothing but a bottled water. That would be neat if they did give something!

On our first cruise my daughter and popped in to the spa to check it out and we got a tour and saw the beautiful showers. The person giving us the tour did say that they had to be 18 to use them. I didn't use them that cruise because I always had a little one with me and didn't get to use the adult areas much. I tell ya though I would LOVE to get a pass for the rainforest room this time and lounge on those mosaic tile chairs :lovestruc When we had our tour I got into a looong 1/2 conversation with the guide so I could just sit there longer ;)

Hey I never thought.... the DO have those chairs on the Fantasy right?!

I just responded to this - with a long explanation - and somehow deleted it before posting it . . . I need more coffee . . . or maybe. . . I need a VACATION!!

I'm not sure what ships you have been on, but I think the Fantasy and the Dream are set up the same way.

There are either 6 or 8 of those chairs, out on a verandah with 2 hot tubs. It is a very nice peaceful spot to hang out in, to read, or just enjoy some quiet time! (if you want a drink stonger than water infused with lemon or cucumber, bring your own!)

I seem to remember 3 showers. Each of those has different setting so it is fun to play with them to see what they all do. BUT, unless you just came out of one of the special rooms (Steam Room, sauna and something else. . . ), some of the settings can be extremely cold!

I have a lot of health issues, and everything in this area makes me feel better, so most likely, I will again be getting the week long pass!

For everyone that does not know, they do that tour of the spa pretty much the whole first day. If you get there before a certain time, you get entered into a drawing to win a free spa treatment (this is what they have done in the past, don't use my name if they say they never offered this!! Plus - you can't get just any treatment for free - I'm thinking that it is a set amount towards a treatment).

To tour the spa, you just go on your own, and everyone is invited to go.

:offtopic:
The kids clubs are also open to everyone that first day, even if you don't have a kid and just want to check out the cool stuff they get to play with (and see how they trick the kids into wanting to wash their hands!! - I had to try it!! hahaha)

During that first day they also offer a tour of the entire ship. I think they have 2 sessions and you don't need to sign up, you just show up at the designated time/place and join the group.

If you are looking for other "freebies", on certain days there will be "seminars" :confused3 about different ports. They let you know what to look for and what to avoid. "Some" of these seminars give out freebies. I believe on one of them you got a bracelet, and another one gave out a coupon book.

(in case it isn't obvious, I was home alone all weekend with no one to talk to - well - I did talk to my cats, but one of them is mute, and one of them is only happy when she is eating or sleeping - well - just like me!)

Another time to get "freebies", is when they offer the DVC "seminars" (I’m sticking with that name). Everyone is invited to attend, whether you are a DVC Member or not. If you are a member (you probably already know this), you will be given a gift as soon as the presentation (oh! Maybe that is the correct word!) begins. On one cruise, the members got a DVC Hat. I think on another one they got a t-shirt. For some reason, I’m thinking on one cruise they got a DVC Monopoly game – where all the real-estate squares were Disney Resorts.

I am not a DVC member, but a few times that I have gone, I got a nice hard back book telling about all the resorts. Another time I got a real nice print of Walt & Lillian Disney. (see below) Last year, they were asking questions, and I got one right and won a beach towel!

:rotfl2:

So, in conclusion, the answer to tow-mater-1’s question, yes, they do have those chairs on the Fantasy!

I think this is the picture that I recieved the one year:
