10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

Question of the Day (week?):

What is the first thing (s) you plan to do when you get on the fantasy?

For us:

  • Head up to Cabana's for lunch; on the older ships, I love eating in Parrot Cay but on the Dream we enjoyed Cabana's so we'll head there.
  • Go explore the adult clubs; usually we head to the adult pool area but I really want to see the Tube and whatnot so I think we'll head down there to take a look;
  • Go to the cabin at 1:30pm and let my mom take a nap if she needs it.

I just sent a FB request to join the group but did not know how to make the request show my DIS name??? Please accept me into the group! I am not sure who manages the FB group but if I need to PM someone just let me know!

:3dglasses I spent 2 weeks on the Fantasy last year - and still can't find my way through the adult clubs . . . luckily we will be staying in the same stateroom so I should be able to find that . . .

We usually go to our room and drop any carryon we have check for luggage and maybe any special deliveries like Castaway Member Welcome back packages and/or sail away orders etc.

Then we go Up to Currents and enjoy the sail away party, I go and hug a turret to greet the ship, at some time we will go to Meridian (I spend a lot of time there specially in the afternoons) on deck 12 to say hello to our friend Gabriel from Argentina, he is a wine expert (etnologist). He showed me the Cognac that sales for $750 1 oz each glass that almost broke last year when Sandy.

This time we'll be going also to our Meet and Greet at D-Lounge 3:30 pm.

:cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

Lol the idea is for you to not find the exits from the clubs :lmao:

Hi Angelique! I'm Char, the one from fb who's daughter is in the Netherlands right now... until tomorrow anyway! Welcome to the Dis... sort of since you've been here since 2011.:lmao:

I've been hanging out on the fb group lately so :welcome:to all the newcomers!

Question of the Day (week?):

What is the first thing (s) you plan to do when you get on the fantasy?

:thumbsup2This is cruise #10 for us, and we have a pretty set routine:

  • Get on board and go to where ever they are holding the "MDR Updates" - we make sure my allergy is listed and that we are on second seating.

  • We will go to Palo to request Laseryo (sp?) - We love him and missed him last year - he had gotten hurt and out to have surgery and recover

  • Then will be lunch - I prefer eating inside (Enchanted Garden), Linda prefers eating outside (Cabanas) so we alternate on each cruise (I believe we are eating outside this trip)

  • Then we check to see if our luggage/room are ready - and attempt to meet our room steward (I request that the couch bed to remain a bed the entire cruise - due to health issues I take a nap everyday)

I think I will be heading straight for the Aquaduck! I say that but this is our first time on the Fantasy... I may be distracted by everything on my way. I'm a little ADD :lmao:.

Then if all my peeps are on board I may try and get a group ressie at Palo for brunch.

Hopefully I can do all this before 1:30 so we drop off our carry-ons and head over to the Enchanted Garden for lunch.

I just bought a 29" (weighs less than 5 lbs!) to take on the cruise. Does anyone know if I will be able to fit this monstrosity under the bed? I will not go over the weight limit, so not worried about travel, just concerned about whether it will slide under the bed! I can return it if it wont fit. Anyone tried? Thanks! :scratchin

There is a TON of underbed space on these newer ships, so you should be just fine. My massive Jansport suitcase fits just fine.

We were on the Fantasy last year. We had bought 3 of those hard suitcases with the 360 wheels. . . I don't remember if they are 28" or 29" but they fit with no problem under the mattress.

Hi All
I have just sent a request to join the Facebook page. Currently in last minute planning phase for this holiday even though it has been booked for ages as we are also trying to sort out my wife moving out to join me in Saudi Arabia. So crazy time.:scared1::scared1:
Have to say the holiday can not come soon enough. This will only be our second cruise so still all new to us.
Steve

Hi everyone! My name is Nancy, our family of three (one nine year old boy) sailing for the very first time! Sooo excited! I am still trying to figure out all your abbreviations on this thread, and am so challenged at this that I am surprised I found this at all! I attempted to join the Facebook page (nanclonurse), but not sure I did it : ). Where do you all get the FE's? (I had to google that abbreviation). It sounds like fun and I would like to participate. But, how exactly do the FE's work? And those cute magnetic things for the doors with the names? That's all the questions I will burden you all with (for now), lol! Thank you!

Hi Nancy,

The fish extender is something you can make or buy - etsy seems to be a popular place to purchase from (or ebay). The FE aren't the magnets on the doors but the long, hanging pocket that's hung next to your door.

Basically, it's like a small gift exchange - you deliver to all of the cabins on your list and all of the cabins on the list deliver to you. Right now there are about 60 cabins in the FE exchange but most people have chosen to split so you'd have a list of about 30 cabins to give to (and receive from).
