Good morning/afternoon all!


We got absolutely dumped on for snow yesterday - I can't find a specific report but one article said our county got up to 18 inches of snow.

Schools are closed again today, and I don't know if DH will be able to get to work today either. Heck, they haven't plowed my street yet, so I don't even know if I can get to work without getting stuck.

How are the other Wisconsinites doing - everyone ok?

We're ok too Jen. I don't know the total here in the Falls but I believe it was well over 13. I can't see the end of my driveway but I'm secretly hoping it's plowed in by the Village plows and I can stay home again. Although, staying at home doesn't do wonders for this BOBaloser.

Edited: Looks like we got 18" according to the news.

Both, depends who I am talking about heritage; went to Nova Scotia and found ancestors before the expulsion at Grand Pre and Annapolis Royal, first capital of Nova Scotia. My Grandfather's father settled in Kaplan after leaving Nova Scotia.

So I use Vincent in English for work or friends.

Like Cass, can speak only to relatives, but understand Acadian French better.

I can't trace mine all the way back to Grand Pre, but I know some came through the Canary Islands and Jamaica. (Wouldn't it be nice to be in Jamaica right now?) Lots of family names have been changed from Spanish (Suarez) to French (Soirez) and from French (Michel) to American English (Mitchell). That was boring, wasn't it?

Well Chuck just called and said the roads are just horrible. Still snow covered and icey underneath. I'm heading out extra early so I can go nice and slooooooow.

Thanks guys.

We are actually lucky in a couple of ways:

First, we don't fly until this afternoon.

Second, we are going into Tampa, not Orlando, and the airline doesn't fly that route on Tues or Wed, so no back up of people trying to get on our flight.

Third, with the airport not opening until after 7:00 this morning, the original flight (which was suppose to go Atlanta-Milwaukee, Milwaukee-Phoenix, Phoenix-Milwaukee, Milwaukee-Tampa) got cancelled. Now the airline is flying a special route of ATL-MKE (need that since the ATL-MKE flights from yesterday and this morning were all cancelled) and then using that plane to go MKE-TPA.​

So as of right now, we are all on time (helps having the plane come from the south. It takes off at 1:30 our time, so by the time I pick up DS (2:00), I will know if it is in the air.

9 hours from right now we'll be landing in Tampa and I will be in the World in no more than 90 minutes after that. Can't wait.
