Ok, It's hard to get excited about planning this far in advance, especially since I've got another cruise and probably two trips to WDW before Oct 2009 but you have to start some time...

Who's gone on the Eastern before and what are the can't miss excursions?

St. John and especially Trunk Bay are just beautiful. I will post some pictures up in the first post soon.

If you want to stay on St. Thomas, go to Meghan's Bay (suppose to be one of the top 10 beaches in the world - I prefer Trunk though).

Also on St. Thomas, you can take an island tour and go to Mountain Top. There are also the cable cars right near the pier. From both you'll get great views of the bay. Again, I have pictures of this I can post as well.

On St. Maarten, we did the "under two flags" tour. You get to see both sides of the island (french and dutch). We then went to the beach right in town. On our second cruise there, we went to Orient Beach. I think it was over rated. Very rough surf too. Next time we are going to go over to Maho Beach. Not for the beach as much as the excitement. I'll have to post a couple of You Tube videos to show what I mean.

Hope that helps.

What is up with the boards tonight, running very slow...............:confused3

Oh well, I have to go pay some bills anyhow....

I know this might be sad to say, but we have been on three Eastern cruises, but we really didn't do much as far as excursions go. Our destination is the SHIP, moreso than the ports. We just like to get on the ship and RELAX!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Andy,

That actually isn't that uncommon. Most seasoned cruisers go for the ship not the islands. The ship is like a resort and that is their destination. The islands are a by-product and just an excursion for them.

We booked this, and the 10/20/07, because of the week. The schools here are closed and we wanted to go on DCL. We didn't care where it was going.

I was hung up for a while there too Andy.

The Repo thread must have been going for a pirate. :rotfl2:

BTW people, we are still 68 posts short of 40,000 on the old thread. Do we want to get that thing pushed over and then let it lie? :confused3

I'm in on the dis tags. Looks like we'll be climbing steps again.
I guess I better add my name to the list. :goodvibes

We decided to stay on deck 2. We'll probably get an upgrade. I can't see paying more for an inside stateroom when I have a good chance of getting a porthole for this price. So the wait begins. :rolleyes1

Anyone else want to join? We cut the list off at 20 last time. I think it was a great number - not too many and we got them done within the week. Plus re space in cases - it might be difficult if it gets too big with our luggage space etc. Depends upon what we choose of course - some of those sure were big last time round.

I'll volunteer to help run it if someone else will volunteer to help me - you get your own title of "Tag Assistant":lmao: (of course...that makes me the Tag Master;) ):rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am absolutely no good at spread sheets etc, so I need someone with pc knowledge:rotfl:

Oh and I think Lurking Lynn and her DH Chris will be joining us again too!!!! I called her last night and let them know we rebooked to this cruise and I think they are going to do the same thing today. Now we just need to get Lynn out of Lurking status :goodvibes

Yeah, Morsel returns too?? :yay:

Hello...

Am I being a tease if I mention that I've got a quote in hand for this cruise and just need to talk it over with Jason? ;)

Every cruise needs an oybolshoi ... especially if it includes a Sheldon J. Plankton(s) and an AFEG. :thumbsup2

I'll drink to that! Vive Le Mochaccino Brenda!!!!:drinking1

We've gone on an Eastern Paul. On St Martin we did the Explorer cruise which took us to both the dutch and french side. We did a bus tour of the dutch side and then a cruise to the french. Rum punch, juice and soda was included in the little cruise. We did enjoy that excursion.

In St Thomas we did a little tour of the island with a local. Showed us many of the sights and had a few photo stops.

I agree with Jeff. This time it's Maho Beach. Another set of DISers (Perdidobay) did Maho last time and they had an amazing time. Wait until you see the YouTube from Jeff. Unfortunately, theirs was not a Disney excursion and I'd worry about missing the ship if something happened.

Deck 2? :confused3

I thought all Cat 12's were on Deck 1.

Aren't the inside Deck 2's Cat 10?

Hi guys. I just heard about the dates today and hopped on here and found this. i will be moving our date to this one soon. I have to talk to my sister and make sure it works for her but I'm sure it will.

I'm soooooo excited. Now i have to catch up on 21 pages!!:scared1:

Actually Maho is on the same island, so no biggie. However, I don't recall, but I think there is some draw bridge that goes up in the afternoon that you could get stuck at.

My ressie confirm says we sail at 7:00, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

I'll try to get the You Tube video up shortly.
