Sounds wonderful Beth, except for the "HEAT" that is..........;)

We did have a good time. But we are now suffering the consequences of a red-eye flight! Sarah slept most of the trip... but denies it! Megan slept about 45 minutes and then woke up... complained of her stomach hurting and had to run to the lavatory to be sick (so it wasn't too pleasant for her!) She watched movies on the iPod the rest of the way. I slept off and on. Matthew only dozed so he is sleeping right now.

We had a nice visit with his parents. His mother "paid" for a breakfast buffet with club points.... almost every casino or casino group has a player's club with freebies and rewards for playing. She mostly plays Bingo (and wins often!) or Keno machines.

Well, Megan is here dying to know what is at the post office mailbox for her American Girl doll. So, I have to run and take them to retrieve it!

Just had some :wizard: come my way!!! I was looking for something for a fellow DIS'er, when low and behold, I found my iPod that I have been looking for since last Friday.......

Lina took the iPod and put it on her iPod home thingy to charge the battery. Hopefully, it still works so I can use it tomorrow morning when I go to workout. The majority of the songs I have on it are from the numerous Disney CD's we have......;)

Wow! Congrats, Asiah! What a beautiful name. How does your family pronounce it?

we pronounce her name just like the continent. I am proud too. She is just getting it what she accomplished. She is just learning competition. Diane

Sorry I missed you Paige - have a wonderful trip y'all:goodvibes

Getting down to us means dancing!

Karen...that's pretty much what it means in the rest of the US too! Maybe the Cajun use came from driving trucks... which do require "getting down" to get out of the vehicle??? (Just a thought!)

As I said, it's tough because of regional slang. I once took a quiz online to discover how "dixie" you were (that's Southern US) based on vocabulary and pronunciation of words. I can't remember any specific examples right now.

Hmm...looking back at the post again (the "buttie" for sandwhich) reminded me of one of the "Dixie" questions. The question was about what you refer to the type of sandwich made from a longer roll.... most often called a submarine or "sub" sandwich... but also referred to as a "hoagie" or a "hero" (or "gyro" pronounced as "hero")

Yep, we call them hoagies around here!!! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hazel is cooking salmon for dinner, but the pic of the hoagie surely did make my mouth water.........:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Morning Mike and Andy  Good afternoon Heather

I'm off to Hallmark. It's their christmas ornament sale today!!! See y'all at least $150.00 from now!!!

Lucky you...last Hallmark ornament I got was Mrs Potts and Chip.

Good Morning everyone!

Off to have the hair dresser clear out all this gray hair that sprouted this week. Sean loves it, but I told him that I am too young for gray hair, and that when I am 60 I may consider it. (btw 60 isn't old either but I think it is a good age to accept gray hair)

They're not grey...just natural highlights.;)

Hello everyone.
We just got back from our Las Vegas trip (which was essentially to pick up the kids from their grandparents house) I see everyone was as chatty as usual!

I noticed some weather / temperature posts before I decided to skip catching up on reading the board. That was our one problem in LV... temp was 116 while we were there! And to add to that...the air conditioning at my in-laws' house wasn't working right...up to 90 in the house! With some very nice fans and a separate little air conditioning unit, the back room was nice and cool, though.

One great thing we did was to see "Phantom of the Opera" at the Venitian. It was a really great show! Andrew Lloyd Webber had worked with them to create an amazing 95 minute version of the play...complete with pyrotechnics on stage. We had 2cnd row center seats. Matthew gets a boatload of brownie points for arranging it!!!

Wow..lucky you. Glad you had a good time.

I'm watching a show on TV called "Clean House" oh my word, how can people live like that, yuck!!!

My copy of 30-Day shred finally showed up today so I did the level 1 workout earlier this evening. Went for a 2.5 mile walk earlier this morning with Jay while the humidty was at steam-room levels.

I'm gonna be sore tomorrow but it's worth it. I only lost one pound last week, but I'm hoping for more when I weigh in next Saturday.

Sure missed checking in during the week ... I feel so left behind now. :rotfl:

Hi Tanya--I hardly ever drink soda(pop), the only time I drink it is if there is nothing else around. I usually either drink iced tea or water.

Hazel did fabulous doing the points on WW. She lost about 30 pounds 4 years ago, and has been able to keep it off. In fact, she went for her monthly weigh-in yesterday. As long as she stays under 111 pounds, she has lifetime membership. I think she said she weighed-in at 101 yesterday. Oh, the agony of it all.........:rotfl:

Thanks for the encouragement. I never made it to goal when I was a member. I did lose weight when I stayed on the program.

I really needed that encouragement right now. I was going to make popcorn or even worse get a bowl of ice cream. I'm not really hungry and when I am trying to lose weight, I try not to eat after 6 pm. DISing is a better choice than snacking!

Way to go, Hazel on losing and maintaining!:woohoo:

Way to go passing up the snacks.:thumbsup2

I am on Rob's laptop with a portable antenna, so I can log on and chat with y'all.:cool1:

We just passed a sign for the "Risque Cafe." Rob wanted to know if we should stop and get a bite to eat.:rotfl: :scared1:

i'll explain this to anyone who has never driven to FL down I-95.
cafe risque is a "gentlemans club" off the main road. they have huge billboards
posted along the highway stating "we bare all".
its a big joke whenever we drive down to FL.:cheer2:
i'm sure its a truckers paradise.:lmao:

Well it took 4.5 hours and a pretty good chunk of change to make those natural highlights disappear. But I must say I do look so much better.

Um they have a wife that DIS's:confused3 :rolleyes1
(no my house isn't that bad, but it sure could be better)
