Well, I posted this on the Theme Park board, but I thought I'd share here, too......

Well, I just got off of the phone with Disney Golf, then DVC, then Disney Ticket office, and the final verdict was that they would not let me have Oak Trail as part of my PAP for my trip in July. She told me that they would start that on Sept 28.....I told her to go back to the website and have someone take a look at it because it says June 28 for golf and Sept 28 for the closing of PI. It's no problem for my family because I realized while on hold that it is a WALKING golf course and I think my youngest son would have a difficult time with all that walking and carrying clubs, etc.

Jeff - Don't work TOO hard....:surfweb:

I'll try not to. :rotfl:

It's just really one day this week that is a pain (today). I'm actually thinking of taking off on Thursday this week. Suz is off, so I may be as well. I have a ton of time I can take, so Thursday may be it. The next two weeks after that are the heavy crunch time, and then I have two weeks to "tweak" everything.

Since I have a dead set end date for the audit this year, I have to have everything done early.

Even though I should be working ... ;)

I just realized that this time next year we will all be talking about our upcoming on-line booking dates for excursions and other good things like that!

Just for fun, what are you all planning on doing on the ship or in port?

I'll start:

Jay and will book all the dining options at Palo because we love eating there!

We will book the naughty mud room because that's a cruise tradition for us. ;) We are also talking about booking one of the spa suites but that's going to depend on our budget next year and whether or not we'd just rather have a cabana massage again on Castaway Cay ... that was a pretty good experience and a great way to end the cruise!

We've parasailed twice at Castaway Cay, so I'm not sure yet if we'll do it again ... just depends on the mood we're in once it's time to book I suppose.

As for shore excursions ... we're up in the air about St. Martin - we really want to get to the French side of the island and check that out but we also want to spend some time in the water (they have gorgeous water there). And of course there is the J&B Guavaberry Expeditionary Force to consider! :lmao:

I think that we will try to get over to St. John when we're docked in St. Thomas - Jay would love to snorkel there and I would love to let him. :thumbsup2

That's all I can come up with for now. :goodvibes

OK, what is PAP (and I don't want the answer from Karen's joke :scared: :rotfl: )?

Paige, why don't they just offer you a pro-rated refund on the PAP? Starting with October through the expiration date Disney should just give you the option to be refunded on the difference, especially if you won't be using the golf course.

This is one of the things about the whole PI shut down that annoys me.

I almost bought PI tickets last week so that I could get the advance purchase discount ... glad now I didn't.

As far as the cruise goes, at the moment the only thing for sure that we would like to book is brunch at Palo one day. Other than that, we fly by the seat of our pants.........:lmao: We don't get into doing many excursions, if any at all, we just like being on the ship and RELAXING!!!!! :thumbsup2

Jay and I need a mix of relaxation and activity or we start to get stir-crazy. That's one reason why we can't just do a vacation where all there is to do is hang out on the beach ... it would drive us both more nuts than we already are. :rotfl:

Hmmm...I'll have to think on that. Or at least get Rob's thoughts on it. I am sad that they are closing PI, but happy that we'll have one last chance to get there next month. And I think it is ridiculous to think that a round of golf can compare to the PI experience, but if that's what they want to do, that's their prerogative, I suppose. What irritates me is that they have the golf info on the website, but haven't informed their ticket salespeople. I am not going to let it ruin my trip, but this falls under the category of incompetence in my book.

Well(in honor of Paige), since we had 8 DVC points left in our use year, we asked my mom and Walt if they would like to join us for a one night stay in a studio unit when we go to WDW later this summer. They said yes, so we called DVC and got them booked for the Thursday night of our stay.

Since Lina's 18th Birthday will be a few days after we get back, we are planning on having a special dinner the night my mom and Walt are with us to celebrate.

I'm open for suggestions as we haven't stayed on property for awhile. Since we are staying in OKW, I was thinking about Olivia's. Who has eaten there, and what do you think?

This is a question for The Mighty Bendy Girl!:worship:

What about Lina? Does she have a favorite place?

I'm off to the grocery store. Can't wait to hear the responses about Olivia's. I'll be there (OKW) in just a few short weeks!

I'm supposed to be working too....but I'll play!

We want to book Palo brunch and dinner - we have not been to Palo at all yet!

Stingrays at CC

No idea about the ports yet...I want to do a beach day for one, but can't decide which one yet.

I'm the same way, Brenda - I need a mix of relaxation and activity. When we went to Mexico w/ Pete's family, Pete and I did an excursion over to Chitzen-itza (sp?) and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Most of the trip was hanging out at the beach at the resort, and I've never read so many books on vacation in my life because I needed something to keep myself occupied!

Last year's cruise was a nice mix, but I think I might have needed more relaxation. Part of me is hoping that the shows haven't changed, because then we can skip the ones we've seen and explore the ship some more...or just hang out at Quiet Cove some more....

As long as you have the time and the weather is nice, might as well take it off. Taking the girls out to lunch today?

Lina is supposed to go to the shore with some friends(she's waiting for them to call her back), Hazel has a funeral to attend around noon. It's so sad, friends on Hazel's side of the family had an 18 year old daughter that died of a drug overdose the other day. The girl had recently come out of rehab, was doing good, then went out with her so-called boyfriend and she died that night.

I've never eaten at Olivia's so I can't give you any personal advice at all.

You should post a question over in the restaurant forum, Andy. I'm sure there are plenty of people who've eaten at Olivia's who can give you some input. I love the restaurant boards - a very helpful, informative, fun group of food weirdos! :lmao:

We want to surprise Lina, she doesn't know my mom and Walt will be joining us until they show up that day. Besides, Lina doesn't have any favorite places to eat in WDW.
