I hope it works out for you! I understand the frustration. Matthew and I rarely get a date night. Our time now with the kids away is slated for a major cleaning (decluttering mostly!) of the house.

My parents will not watch all three kids. They can not handle the older two. Kelsey is not responsible enough to watch Mackenzie. My parents will only take Mackenzie on nights that Scott works. They say I need time to myself more then I need time alone with him:confused3 His parents are not very reiable. They normally say we will come to your house. 30 minutes after they were supposed to be here we call and they don't want to drive because they have been drinking. So we are more then willing to take her to them. :scared1: If you have been drinking to much to drive then you think I am going to leave my kid with you. We did set up a time a while back to go to one of Scott's work parties that we asked his dad and he said sure not a problem drop her off at our house at 2:00. So I was already on edge because of the drinking. No kids were allowed at the party so I had no other choice. We get there at 2 and his dad is out of town due home shortly. His step mom said oh that is fine that you leave her he will be home soon. We were gone from 2:30 to 6:00. When we got to their house she was in boys clothes. Found out that the step moms sister took her with her son and another boy quading. I know my little girl can quad but not with out me being there. To make matters worse that sister has a prision record for drugs, and drinks just as much as his dad and step mom:headache:

That is the extent of our family and sitters. I refuse to pay $10 an hour for a teenage girl to watch her which means we pay the gas to go get the girl, and take her home, and pay her per hour plus our date. I don't think so. The last girl we had spent more time on our internet then watching Mackenzie.

Our livingroom now looks like a soda warehouse.........:rotfl2: I know we have too much soda, iced tea and water, but I know it won't go to waste in this house!!!

Getting ready to take Lina to yet another grad party. I'm glad these kids decided not to exchange $$ gifts with each other. That would have cost me another fortune, especially since Lina still isn't working yet.

Hazel and I are now working on the food order for Lina's party. For those who have given parties, do you think 4oz. of meat per person is a good amount to plan on? We are thinking of ordering 25 lbs. of lunchmeat (10 lbs. ham, 10 lbs. turkey breast, 5 lbs. roast beef) and 10 lbs. of American cheese for 100 people, what do you experts think? Of course some of the people on the list are small children, and won't eat much.

Andy,

I used to do caterings several years ago. I think the general rule is 2 - 3 oz. per person of lunch meat... I think cheese is 1 -2 slices per person. (If I remember correctly.) It depends on what other food you are having too.

Here is a website that might help you out.

Hope this helps.

Well it is 3:45 and I should be getting ready for our date, but there is still no sign of the sitters being home. Now we are getting worried. We have had some pretty strong winds this weekend and they are in a pop up camper. This is only their second time out with it. I hope they are ok.

Sending :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that all is OK with your sitters.

YES! - I couldnt believe it either! - he normally is willing to get rid of one or two things but he was in a "throw it away" mode so while the going was good I carried on going! He even has a shelf clear and room under his bed now:yay:

I did leave a little thought in his head at the start though - I reminded him his birthday wasnt that far away and that there would be nothing new as there was no-where to put it;) - I think that helped rather a lot:lmao:

Speaking of Hairspray. It was a great musical, but one part made us very uncomfortable. As most of you know my DD is developmentally disabled (actually has been diagnosed as borderline retarded) and is in Special Education. There is one part in the play that wasn't in the movie where Amber makes fun of Tracy for being in Special Ed, to the point where she makes a face and says Retard, and it took all of me not to stand up and scream there is nothing wrong with being in special ed:headache: . I could see that Sarah was getting very uncomfortable with this. What I didn't know is that she had said something to her dad about it, and he had to explain that it is people like those that aren't your friends, and how Link (her favorite character have no idea why:love: ) stayed behind to make sure Tracy was ok. With the exception of that part, she loved the play. It was very funny, and the guys that played Tracy's mom and dad were so funny. In fact at one point one got the other laughing and they couldn't stop for about a minute or so. I'm so glad we went.

There have been movies I have considered for school but could not because of similar insensitive remarks. At the beginning of Mean Girls, there are some pretty demeaning pictures depicting homeschooled kids. (Not that I considered that for school but we had mentioned it on the thread recently.):confused3

I've been cleaning cars all afternoon. Dad said he would wax my car if I would detail his on the inside. Fair enough! DH doesn't help in this area so I am thrilled to have a waxed car! I should sleep well tonight!::yes::

Just checking in at the tail end of the weekend.

Been busy in the yard. Finally got some rain today, but only about a 1/3 of an inch.

Back to work tomorrow. :(

On the bright side, we sail in 8 weeks. :cool1:

Looks quiet on the BOB tonight. I don't see anyone's light on.

Any stealthers out there? :confused3

We did it We did it. We got to go out afterall. :cool1: We got all dressed up and went to Olive Garden for dinner. Very nice. Our sitters gave us a $40 gift card about 2 months ago for dog sitting for them, so we used that. Our total was $39.28. So dinner only cost us the $6.00 tip. We forgot about a tip so we had to come up with $6.00 cash between the two of us and me with no purse. I sent Scott out to search the car. After dinner we went to our little coffee shop. Had our coffee and chatted with the owners/friends. he wants me to email her a flyer. She is not in the area, but heck I am more then willing to drive the distance if she wants me to do it. Then her husband was mentioning that they are looking for some new employees so Scott dropped my name as a part-time thing that I could do along with Target. So we will see. Then we came home and picked up Mac and put her to bed. It was so nice and relaxing. I don't even think Scott and I talked much the whole time at dinner.

Rose, I got to wear the dress that we got while in Key West. That is my first time wearing it.

So before we left today we drove the community and saw that two of my flyers have been taken down. Scott is going to go post them again tomorrow along with others.

Thank you Andy. They are fine. They got a late start heading home. Craig likes to break camp as soon as he gets up, but they had friends go up with them this time and they friends were in no rush to leave. They pull in their drive at 4:00 and Mac ran out there telling them they were late and asking why. Poor Craig had to try to explain himself to a 5 year old. When he was all done explaining it she looks at him and say oh, well I want to see the dogs. Life was fine by her as soon as she got to play with the dogs.

Heather I was just thinking about you last night ...

Jay and I are planning on cracking open our last bottle of Rose Regale this evening. Yum!!! Too bad you can't jump the ocean and join us ... we're going to have some tasty cheese and bread and fruit to go along with it. :thumbsup2

Brenda--our wine store just moved to a larger location-- we sell Rosa Regale in 375 and 750s if you are ever in Wisconsin. :hippie:

p.s. I just saw that Herr Federer is going to be wearing a dreamy cardigan this year at Wimbledon. :lovestruc

Good morning people:goodvibes

The sun is shining:cool1:

I have a million errands to run but hopefully I might get half an hour by the pool at the gym if I hurry up with everything else. I'm trying to plan my route to the various places so I dont waste time.:rotfl:

Have a great day everybody:goodvibes

Monday Mornin' All..........

Carrie, happy to hear you were able to keep your date night last night and that your sitters arrived home safely!!!
