Well It's Official! The truck is ours!!   We signed our life away last night! Woody drove it to work today since Fridays are their "Guy Lunch" day.

Heather hope things get better for your dad. You are in our prayers.

Andy I hope Lina feels better soon! It's not fun being suck during the summer.

Paige have an AWSOME time!!! :yay: Think about us while you are down there!!

Karen I know Greece is looking even more appealing for Neil now with these crazy hours he is working. Hope it gets better for him!

Hi ya Mel! How is the new job going?

Another long night for Neil last night - got in about 6am so Ellis and I were tip toeing again. He's still asleep so I cant do any housework as its too noisy (well, thats my excuse anyway;) ).
I remember those days when Mark worked nights, there's only so much you can do and be quiet.

Its actually stopped raining this morning - the weather has been so bad we've had flood warnings in places. Ellis' sports day was cancelled cuz the field s were too wet:sad2:
Sounds like our weather, lots of rain, and flash flood warnings. Today is suppose to be a hot one also. In the 90s, with a heat index of 95 to 100.
Not sure what to do today - cant get my gym stuff cuz its in my wardrobe and Neils asleep. Might be lazy and watch a movie:rolleyes1

Have a good day folks :goodvibes

Sounds like a good day for a movie to me....

:yay: :yay: Its lovely:yay: :yay: - my favourite thing about a new car is the "new car smell".

He's got one more night tonight then he's back to regualr (ish) hours for 2 weeks. Its luck of the draw (swings and roundabouts - do you use that saying over there?) as to whether he gets called out on a job or not - last week he got paid and never went out once through the night so in theory he got 40 hours pay for sleeping! ... this week they've worked him to the bone:sad2: He's certainly looking forward to lying on that greek beach though:cool1:

Sounds like a good day for a movie to me....

He got up eventually and we had a wander round the shopping mall - bought Ellis 2 more footie tops - our local team (Birmingham City) and the England top. A nice relaxing day and at least we didnt slob out on the sofa and we got a teeny bit of exercise.:thumbsup2

Talking of sayings... I tend to type what I think (yeah I know thats a frightening thought in itself!:rotfl2: ),... but I often change my text thinking "they wont know what I mean by...." etc, and other times words such as "footie" I automatically think of as a "real" word and forget to put the proper word (football) in its place instead. Same with the word "buttie"... that to us is a sandwich.... used in every day language - cant remember the last time I said the word "sandwich" - no-one round here says it, they all use "buttie".

Neil has even recently bought a t shirt with the word "Bostin" across the front. Thats a local word meaning "great, brilliant."

Another would be "tara-a-bit" - another local word - the literal translation is "goodbye for a bit" - in other words "see you later".

So, what words if any do you use that we dont?

I dont mean stuff like faucet - we call it a tap etc, I mean slang words that you use in everyday life.

Just for fun - I'd like to learn some "Americanisms":goodvibes
