Howdy........
After 25+ hours, we finally have our phone service back!!! The problem was at the pole at the end of our street. It appears when the electric transformer exploded yesterday it messed up our phone line as well. I'm not sure how many people lost their phone service, but my mom's friend two streets down from us never lost her service, she might be on a different pole from us.....
Anyhow, I know I won't have time to check up on what I have missed, but I did want to report in and let eveyone know we are still alive and doing fine. If any of you have seen the Lake County, Florida fires on the news, they were very close to us, made for a scary first night here at our trailer.
The wind direction changed yesterday and the smoke was blowing our way, amde going outside a bit difficult. Hazel and I headed into town and made yet another trip to
Walmart to pick up a few items we didn't get the other night.
On a funnier note, Hazel was in the shower when we lost power. Since we have our own pump, when the power died, the water stopped flowing. Hazel was NOT a happy camper, luckily, she had just finished getting the shampoo out of her hair, but had soap running down her body when the water stopped.
Not sure what we are going to do today, may go into town and see what is playing at the movies.
We have been keeping in touch with Lina, and it appears as though she is having a nice time in Chicago, they went and saw Wicked last night. This afternoon is their concert at Navy Pier, followed by a 3 hour dinner cruise on Lake Michigan.
