Took Netzero about 8 or 9 tries before they found an open phone line so I could get online..........

We had quite a few severe thunderstorms go through the area this afternoon, but we can't complain the rain is really needed.

Just heard on the 5 o'clock news that the fire here in Lake County is now 50% contained.

Hazel and I went to The China House Restaurant for lunch today. The "all you can eat buffet" was only $3.99 per person, the regular price is $6.99 and I must say, thye food was outstanding!!! We have eaten here before, and weren't sure of they were still open, we were happy to find out they were!!!

MORNING/AFTERNOON PEEPS!!

Long night! We didn't get in from the bar until 1:00am and I was up and out the dorr by 6:30am. I am going to be worthless come 2:00pm. We went out to celebrate another victory with my kickball team! We are 5-0!!! We are the only undefeated team in the league!!

Lori, looks like we are headed to either Busch Gardens or Water Country in Monday. Depends on how warm it gets!

I'm on call so I am hanging around the house this weekend. We haven't gotten to Busch Gardens yet.

Howdy........

After 25+ hours, we finally have our phone service back!!! The problem was at the pole at the end of our street. It appears when the electric transformer exploded yesterday it messed up our phone line as well. I'm not sure how many people lost their phone service, but my mom's friend two streets down from us never lost her service, she might be on a different pole from us.....

Anyhow, I know I won't have time to check up on what I have missed, but I did want to report in and let eveyone know we are still alive and doing fine. If any of you have seen the Lake County, Florida fires on the news, they were very close to us, made for a scary first night here at our trailer.

The wind direction changed yesterday and the smoke was blowing our way, amde going outside a bit difficult. Hazel and I headed into town and made yet another trip to Walmart to pick up a few items we didn't get the other night.

On a funnier note, Hazel was in the shower when we lost power. Since we have our own pump, when the power died, the water stopped flowing. Hazel was NOT a happy camper, luckily, she had just finished getting the shampoo out of her hair, but had soap running down her body when the water stopped.

Not sure what we are going to do today, may go into town and see what is playing at the movies.

We have been keeping in touch with Lina, and it appears as though she is having a nice time in Chicago, they went and saw Wicked last night. This afternoon is their concert at Navy Pier, followed by a 3 hour dinner cruise on Lake Michigan.

I guess that's all for now.

Have a good trip karen to Wales, we are off in the early hours of the morning to Devon for the week. Hoping for good weather too.

Well, after an expensive phone call from my mechanic, an unusally long trip home from work (stupid train that was stuck on the tracks) ,some moron who cut off the guy ahead of me which caused him to drive into a ditch, and coming home to yet another wedding plan crisis, I power up my desktop and guess what I find? Yup!! THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!!

Bendy, pass that booze bottle over here please!

We always try to pack one suitcase within another - that way we have an empty one to fill. Hopefully, with some careful packing...we will have two large suitcases (including an empty one) and one very full garment bag.

Well said, sistah! I want to take Emily to see it this summer, because this year they have covered a lot about this subject.




Have you ever heard of the the book The Girl with the White Flag? Great for teaching about survival. It made me think of Anne Frank when I was reading it. It is actually classified as a young adult book, but I only read it a few years ago when we lived in Oki. Very moving! It makes you realize how much of WWII we were not taught--not only the holocaust but also the lies that the Japanese empire told to their people. (The Okinawans thought that the US Marines would eat their babies.)

I haven't but I'm always looking for a good read and something to use with class. I'll put it on my summer list.

Unfortunately, I just finished a race car book called -Saturday Night Dirt- for our race car theme next year. It was okay, the kids might like it.

For the price of a plane ticket Woody and I will fly out and do your video and pictures! We did this for a friend of ours. She is a flutist and played at our wedding in exchange for us taking pictures at her wedding. Everything turned out wonderfully!

At the price of fuel lately I'm afraid it might be cheaper to just hire that videographer. But then again, I wouldn't get to see my new friends if I did. Hmmmm......

Gosh, what did I do?

I took a bath ...

I brushed my teeth ...

I haven't farted ...

and my feet don't smell like cheese.

Our plans are nothing exciting for the weekend.

Seeing some friends on Saturday afternoon/evening. My Bro may stop by on Sunday. Monday and all the other open times on the weekend will be used working in the yard.
