Hi Mark.
Long time no talk.
Not raining down here yet. It was suppose to start yesterday afternoon, but we haven't seen a drop yet.
Cheryl was going to check with MW for a group deal on MW to FL, but they won't do any committments until we're at the 330 day mark. Might as well just fend for ourselves at that point since everyone else in WI will be going for those flights.
Wonder if AirTran would work with us?
Although, if we know our exact count, wonder what a charter on our own would go for. What are we up to now? I know between Nancy (with both kids/spouses), Us and Cheryl, we're at 13. Jen I think is at least 8. How many do you got? Wonder at what point you talk to them about something? 50?![]()
Suz has a friend (who is a tax client of mine) that is interested. That would be 3 more. So we'd be at 31 before Jen's family.
That is A LOT!
Maybe a Regional Jet. They are 2x2 and seat about 50. Concerned about the luggage capacity though. That might work. Problem would be what they do with it after we get dropped off and how do they get back down to get us.
I t could be done.
Just checked, Midwest had CRJ-200's (50 seats, 2x2, and flies 488 mph). They also have 717's (88 seats, 2x2 - larger seats, and flies 504 mph). Both are jets.
The CRJ actually has a longer effective range (600 miles more).
AirTran puts more seats in their planes so it would take more to fill it.
Delta has 40 and 50 passenger CRJ-200's that fly 530 mph. It says they hold 314 cu ft of luggage - not sure how much that is. It doesn't give a weight.
They have 70 passenger CRJ-700's as well. They fly 544 mph and have 438 cu ft of cargo space.
They have a larger CRJ-900 that has 12 first class seats, seats a total of 76 people, but has a whopping 530 cu ft of cargo.
If we can get even 40 people, at $150 each, that would be $6000 ($3000 each way). Not sure if that would cover it or not. Even if we went $200 each ($8000 total, $4000 each way), we'd still get our own plane and our own schedule.
If you go with Delta, they can then use the plane in the Southeast since they hub in Atlanta. Might be a cheaper alternative.![]()
We have 9 for sure (last time my mom flew out of St. Louis with her friend, so I don't want to count her yet).
Wouldn't that be cool? A BOB charter!
I nominate Jeff to look into that (with the thought that it will keep him off the boards long enough for our team to catch up)!
Is everyone planning on flying down Fri. and coming home Sun.?
So with the 31 Jeff mentioned and at least 9 for Jen's group we're at 40 BOBers from WI
