10/24/2009 - Bash On the Boat (I'm With BOB) - thread #5

Well that's a new one for me. I suppose, every other Friday ends a pay period, they take Monday and Tuesday to process and pay on Wednesday.

Our pay period ends on Sunday, then we get paid the following Wednesday.

Question, for the Repo cruise in August, we're staying by DL (going on Friday) before we get on the ship. We don't arrive until 10:45 p.m. into LAX, so that night is shot and we'll be in the parks all day on Friday.

Do we keep the reservation at the Comfort Inn ($76/nt) and take the ART buses to and from the parks, or do we switch to the BW Stovell ($97/nt), and be within walking distance.

The bus will only be $7 total for all 3 of us, all day long.

I'm thinking we should just save the money.

I would move and walk Jeff - the buses will get fairly full at chucking out time.

Question regarding December of this year and the potential DIS meet in WDW.

IF, again, big IF, we end up going, should we spend the extra $240 and stay at a moderate or go to the All-Stars?

I was thinking, if we go moderate, of trying out Caribbean Beach this time. We've never been. DS likes the quiet pools and they have several. We like PO-R, but we would be without a car this time (rentals are really high), so the bus to all parks other than MK would share with POFQ. POFQ doesn't have the quiet pools. We like CSR, but would like to try something different. Plus, the food court is so far away there.

Just looking for input.

Still unsure if we're going.

Caribbean Beach was lovely Jeff when we went and fairly quiet. Don;t know about All Stars.

It's a favorite resort of ours too Heather. We always request to stay in Aruba because it is the furthest away from the the main pool and in my opinion, the most quiet. We really enjoy the nice long walk to the OPR too.

We are thinking of staying there for a few days next fall if we head down earlier in the week before the cruise.:)

Is there something you missed doing on your last cruise that you absolutely will not miss out on this time? And...is there something you will skip this time around?

I might be talked into Palo Brunch (but without Tuna) and will definitely skip the Character Breakfast.

It looks great there (from the pics I've seen).

How is the busing though? Doesn't it have 7 stops or something like that?

I was thinking of staying in Jamaica based on the possible bus runs (I've read some start at Jamaica, while others start at Martinique). This would give us a 50-50 chance of being the first stop and if not, we won't be the last stop. Plus the walk to OPR to catch buses there wouldn't be too bad.

I don't mind the walks either to get to the main building. I kinda liked that in PO-R. It looks like the island you go over to get to OPR is really pretty.

You can come with Suz and I to breakfast. Karen and Neil will be there too.

Maybe a DIS meet? :confused3

I'm leaning towards CBR if we decide to go and spend the extra $. The pics look great. We'd get better buses at CSR, but we've been there twice already.

Without a car, I won't do PO-R. Since DS really likes the quiet pools, I won't do PO-FQ.

Nite Paige.

POR trasportation wasn't bad when we were there, but that was 2006. We'll be there for a bit of our trip in July. I can let you know how it is then.

Nancy--great pics!!!

We will skip a few shows next cruise. Rob says only because we've seen them not because we don't like them. The one thinkg we will make sure to do--the Rainforest room.....

We have skipped the shows every cruise but the first. Well, we hit the opening night a couple of times, but not the "production" shows - those we skip.

May get to them next time since DS probably doesn't remember them and he is in to music now.

Well kids, time to get ready for work.

I'll check back with you all later.

My Princess is 3 today!
Happy Birthday Princess Amelia!

Will skip the Character Breakfast.

Will have Brunch at Palo!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We want to do the character breakfast since I think the kids will love it.

WE also plan on doing Palo Brunch but we're not particular on the day it is. We want to have dinner at Palo on our anniversary (27th) which is St. Maarten day.

Ok, here are a few shots. They aren't the best. You guys will just have to wait for the photographer to be done with the pics on his website. I'll post a link for it later this week.

BTW...yes, the boy's really did have nice shoes on for the service. As a gift to the wedding party and the dads, Tony bought them all Air Jordan's to wear for the reception.:rotfl2:

Palo....we never made it there.

Deck 7 aft....I'd like to spend some quiet time relaxing.

A Konked Kooler - can you believe I didn't have one????

Unless DS really wants to go, we will probably skip Golden Mickeys and Twice Charmed. We might try to persuade DS out of the club to see Dreams, but if not, we'll skip that too - just because we've seen them and we can do other things on the ship.

We will have to do the character breakfast - even though the format is not as nice as it used to be, DS had a fabulous time dancing with the characters. I will just make sure to have room service brekkie before we go - I didn't eat much either 'cuz I was taking pics!!!!

Melody hasn't seen this one yet....this is my DS at character breakfast - he got to dance with Stitch:
