Poor guy is right. I think he believes I'm trying to kill him. :rotfl2:

I'm sure he doesn't think that at all.:rotfl: (Let's look at the facts........get him on the bad icy roads....no accident..............get that lady in front of us to "act" like she's stuck and he will get out and push.......maybe that will push him over the edge.......not looking good for you Robin.;)

i think at times, she thinks i'm the real underdog with super powers.:lmao:
although i did overhear on her cell phone later saying, "i almost did it sully,
i almost killed him so we could be together.":headache:

days like this i'm glad we downsized into this condo. dont have to shovel snow.:woohoo: i did go out and shovel the walkway just for the fun of it.
and cleaned off cinnamons car.:lovestruc (she has a garage but has her harley parked in there.)
she invited me in for some cocoa to warm me up.:cool2: :rolleyes1

Angelina just got a call from a friend of hers, letting her know that part of the high school roof, over the auditorium and cafeteria, were blown off from the high winds that went through our area a little bit ago.

I had to go outside and chase our trash cans as they were being blown down the street. Now, the temps have dropped from 61* this afternoon, to 46* at the current time, they will be down in the 20's overnight. Spring forward, yeah right................

Luckily, we didn't lose power, but I heard that several parts of our town did lose power, and are still out.

keep dreaming Mike. Diane

What quadran (sp?) of the state are you in Mike? NE, SE, SW, NW?

We live about 23 miles due west of Milwaukee and the Lake. It makes a huge difference. We're on the other side of the state divide (funny that it is located about 12 miles from the lake in the East and about 200 miles from the Mississippi River to the west). Nevertheless, we usually get better weather out here (10-15 degrees warmer in the summer), but in winter it is colder. But the best saving grace is when lake effect snow happens - like this morning.

We are out here with clear skies and the sun is real bright. However, near the lake, they are getting hit with lake effect snow. Up to 4" in a short period of time. The airport in MKE was closed for 2 hours this morning because of it. You wouldn't even know looking out my window what a difference there is 20+ miles away.

We did have a dusting of snow in Waukesha and Muskego this morning, just eneough to make it a little slippery in spots on my way home from work early this morning.

My sister and her family are stuck one more night in Orlando because of the mess at the Milwaukee airport this morning. They were supposed to be on the 6:55pm flight on Midwest but because the afternoon flight from MKE to MCO was cancelled there is no plane for them to come home on. I just got off the phone with my sister again and it has been one huge fiasco. First they were told they couldn't get them on flights until Mon., then they found seats for them on 2 flights tomorrow, then Midwest lost those reservations and now 5 of them are coming home tomorrow morning and the other 4 in the afternoon. I am picking the first group up at the airport, but my sister said that flight is overbooked too so I need to monitor their flight status and hopefully she won't be calling to say they didn't get on that flight :wizard:

wow. makes me really glad we went in february before the weather got bad.
 :lmao: guess we got lucky.

This one is for all you BOBers that have stayed near Disneyland.

I'm looking for a decent NON-Disney hotel near Disneyland. I don't want the HoJo, so don't mention that one.

There are so many in that area, it is crazy looking at them all. I'm waiting to see if Paradise Pier goes on sale, but want an alternate. We got it once over a weekend in July 2 years ago for $135/night. :woohoo: I'll have to check Expedia in June for that one.

We stayed at a Homewood Suites in Garden Grove for a night in 2003. It included a breakfast buffet and it was very nice and clean, I think it was pretty new at the time. They had a free shuttle to Disneyland which we used so we wouldn't have to pay for parking and it was very convenient to use. There were a lot of hotels right in that general area and if I remember right there were alot of restaurants close by too.

the snow plows are just now getting to our place. and the snows still coming down pretty fast.:headache:

Yeah, they thought they would be safe traveling in March but this winter has been something else here. This was lake effect snow and a plane got stuck or skidded off the runway which caused all kinds of cancellations and delays because they need to tow it. I hope we have good weather when we fly in Dec. especially to get down to Orlando!!!

How much snow have you gotten so far Mike?

One of my other sisters is in Tennesse at the townhouse they had built for their retirement and I talked to her today too. She said they got at least 6 inches of snow there today too and this is between Nashville and Knoxville where they are not used to getting snow so the roads there are awful. Crazy weather everywhere!

i told robin i'd rather drive down in dec. but now that we've had a taste
of flying (the last 4 trips) she REALLY likes it.
at least if you drive, you can plan your trip around the bad weather.

I think you girls can relate...

I made a hair appt. The earliest I could get in was Mar. 29. Yesterday the hairdresser called and said she had a cancellation this morning at 9. Never pass on an earlier appt. Right Girls?
Boy did I jump on that. It only a few miles down the road.

So I recruited Mike to go with me. You never know, I might need him to push the car. :thumbsup2

On the way home, I almost kelled Mike. :scared:

We stopped at the Wendy's drive thru for some lunch. The person in front of us got stuck...so I told Mike, "Why don't you jump out and give her a little push?" That was a mistake.. :scared1: She wasn't budging, so 2 employees came out and helped get her out.

When Mike got back in the car, he didn't look very good and was very winded. I forgot that since he's been using his pacemaker more, he has trouble doing that kind of thing.

OMG!! I thought I killed him. He was ok after a few minutes...but he didn't look very good. :guilty:

You must be feeling better Mike if you're on here posting :goodvibes I hope so!

I don't have anything constructive to add.....:guilty:

We haven't driven to Orlando in years but if we go again in summer 2009 I am thinking we might drive then. It is just so much quicker to get there by flying and we've been leary of driving in the winter because of possible weather complications. I guess what happened to my sister today shows that the weather can really complicate things when you fly too.
