Good god! I want today to end

Neil got home in time to whizz to the vets... we went through all the "goodbye" incase he didnt come home...Ellis was heartbroken and sobbing for ages ...finally got Ellis settled and used to the idea - Neil comes back with Patch - still alive!

They have given him 5ml of antibiotics - 5ml =$40

No doubt he wont last much longer but at least he's still around today

They dont really know whats wrong but he's an old hamster so its just a case of wait and see.

Its tough being a parent - I need a drink.

wow thats really good news karen
olivia was feeling sorry for Ellis.
She has lost two rabbits, one hamster and a cat just recently.
its soo heart breaking.
Lets hope he keeps going, at least hes still around.
Have a few drinks - that may help with the stress of the day

Seriously - be careful when you box... my arms and shoulders hurt for 2 days afterwards.... I boxed for nearly 2 hours straight (I was slightly drunk ) and I woke up the next morning and I could barely move

I gave Ellis a new game today for being "brave" at the skin prick text - its called "Chicken shoot" - says it all in the title really - shooting at cartoon chickens a they fly by... we were shouting "die chickens die!" as we played - bet the new neighbours are wondering whats going on

We also just got a Wii. A friend at work found it for us. Scott and Alex decided that is what I wanted for my birthday which isn't until June. So, the guy found one and is bringing it to work tomorrow. Happy Birthday to me!

So, explain to me how your medical system works...

When you have xrays etc at one place then go somewhere else like Andy is ... how does it work? Do they all just bill your insurance company?

My insurance carrier is a HMO. My ortho doc writes a script for the x-rays, I take the script to my primary care physician(PCP), he then writes out a referral that I take to get the x-rays. My PCP also sends a referral to the ortho doc so I can see him. This is all covered by my HMO and I have no co-pay for the x-rays or the ortho doc. When I see my PCP my co-pay is just $2.00. For meds, my co-pay for brand name meds are $10.00 and my co-pay for generic meds are $1.00 Our dental plan, is with a different carrier, the three of us go every six months to the dentist and this is covered completely by our insurance. The only time we pay extra is for having cavities filled or other dental work done, the insurance then pays 80% and we pay the difference. The three of us can get new eyeglasses every two years, the exam and eyeglasses are also covered 100% by my insurance company.

As long as I work until I am at least 55 (2 years and 3 weeks away), I will carry all this helth insurance coverage with me into retirement. Well, at least for Hazel and I, Angelina will be taken off my insurance on 12/31/09 unless I pick up the cost for her coverage, right now it would be $600.00 a month, and everything would stay the same for her as it is now.

When I needed my partial knee replacement, (that you saw in my Left Knee x-ray above) I only had to wait a couple of weeks to have it done once I decided to go that route. All my prvious knee operations were all scheduled and done within a few weeks of seeing the ortho doc.
