Congrats, way to go Ellis!!!

cassie just called. they will be home in about 15 min.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Have fun this weekend!!:)

Good Morning Folks......it was so nice to be able to sleep in this morning, didn't get out of bed until 7:30.........

A friend of mine sent me these pics and I thought I'd share them here with my fellow DISfriends.

These are the Thunderbirds flying over the MK and EPCOT.

Where the heck was your friend standing when he took those pictures Andy...on the moon??:lmao:

(Great pics, thanks for sharing).

Shelley: I thought the same thing about the no-fly zone. I was talking to a CM at the Magic Kingdom one day when a regular plane flew overhead. I asked her about the NFZ and she looked at me like I had another eye on my forehead. She had no idea why I would even ask that. :confused3

Ellis passed his karate belt - he got his certificate and new belt yesterday in class. I have some piccies - I'll download them

:cheer2:CONGRATS ELLIS!!!!:cheer2:

Becky, thanks for posting the link for the BL challenge, I just may do this as I need something to kick me in the butt and get going! I've been terrible and just can't get started again :scared:

Karen, congrats to Ellis!!! :yay: :cheer2:  Love the first photo with all the mess on the floor near the kids feet! :lmao:

Andy, loved those photos!!! Awesome!

I found this bit of info on wikipedia about no fly zones....

[edit] Temporary Flight Restrictions
The FAA may also issue Temporary Flight Restrictions, or TFRs, which are similar to Prohibited Areas but which are typically effective for a few days or weeks, versus the essentially permanent nature of a Prohibited Area. For example, a TFR is typically issued to prohibit flights near the President's destination when he travels outside Washington. TFRs are also issued to ensure a safe environment for firefighting operations in the case of wildfires and for other reasons as necessary. A TFR was quickly issued around the crash site of Cory Lidle's airplane in New York City. Later, a broader TFR was issued to require pilots traveling over the East River to obtain air traffic control clearance.

TFRs are issued by Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), and are available at http://tfr.faa.gov or by calling a Flight Service Station.

There are active TFRs that have been effective since 2003 over Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and an an indirect TFR that prohibits flight below 3000' above ground level, and within a three nautical mile radius of a stadium having a seating capacity of 30,000 or more "in which a major league baseball, national football league, NCAA division one football, or major motor speedway event is occuring" from one hour before to one hour after the event, with exceptions for essentially anyone connected with the event sponsor.

Here's an article about Disney getting what they wanted...

Karen, congrats to Ellis!!! :yay: :cheer2:  Love the first photo with all the mess on the floor near the kids feet! :lmao: ]

Believe it or not - that "mess" are their uniforms, coats and bags etc:rolleyes:

The parents all play "find the socks" etc every friday afternoon:rotfl:

They are all inside outand screwed up like a ball.

He always loses something or gets chocolate all over his white karate suit

One of the kids is even standing on his coat in the photo :)

I had heard about the no fly zone too:confused3 - maybe its just one of those myths that spreads and we all believe:confused3

Been in a hot air ballon twice hoping to float over the castle - but the wind always blew us in the opposite direction:rolleyes:

Becky, I see you signed up...have you done one of their challenges before? I've never been on the WISH board before....
Jen,
Never have done a challenge, first time for everything, and the time period is perfect, it ends the day I go to DL.

I think the reason those pics could be taken was because they are the Air Force. If anything major happens, it's the air force that covers it I believe, so maybe they have automatic access to certain areas?

Have a good evening everybody - we're off out with friends to an indian restaurant. Just waiting for my nails to dry so I can dry my hair:rotfl:

I'm typing with two fingers at the moment:lmao:

Here's another little story about flying over WDW, unfortunately I couldn't get the video to work, they must have removed it I guess :confused3

In the past couple of weeks I've seen three helicopters flying over Disney World, and now I see that WESH-TV (Channel 2) has shot an interesting aerial tour of Disney World (now posted on the WESH Website, so I began to wonder if the FAA no-fly zone restrictions had been lifted.

They haven't; the restrictions still allow aircraft above 3,000 feet, and apparently all the choppers involved stayed above that level. WESH flew over at 3,100 feet and stayed in constant touch with the FAA air traffic control tower the entire time, a station official noted.

WESH's video, which ran on the air Saturday and is available on-line, offers an interesting birds-eye view, with commentary from pilot Dan McCarthy.

My revolting little boy of last week has turned into an angel this week:confused3

If he lasts til tomorrow afternoon he gets his MP3 player - bribery - gotta luv it;)

I can get a "big wig" if it means I get a vip fastpass:lmao:

I must admit - I enjoy gliding to the front of the queue when I've booked a tour - I feel very important with my pass on for the day:snooty:

Just call up the Queen and bring her along, I'm sure she would be available for Disney.;)

Oooh do tell what tours you went on!!! ::yes::
That sounds like fun!! :woohoo:

Ok Sean just said that it was the military that "suggested" to the FAA to implement no fly zones, so that is probably why the Thunderbirds got a waiver.

I did the keys to the kingdom tour last time - good - about 5 hours and years ago we did the long 8 hour backstage magic tour - highly recomended

I know Heather did the tour in epcot on those wheelie things too. they look like fun

I might try the family tour next oct where you look for peter pan or something like that. They apparantly get you skipping and hopping round the park looking like a fool:lmao: - I can just see Neils face now as he skips around:lmao:
