I was thinking earlier this would be a great thing to do for the newbies, start a list of do's/dont's on the ship:

First off don't forget the tissues, it's easy to have a boo hoo fest the first time you enter that atrium

Here's one from personal experience:
Don't go out on deck and say you are going to lay out for 30 min to get a "little color" for formal night and not put on sunscreen......the color you will be is red.

Do go to every show

Also it is inevitable that if you are Palo's trying to have a romantic night that your beeper from the kids club will buzz. For some reason the thought of mom and dad being by themselves having adult time makes kids physically sick.:lmao:

Don't expect to do everything you want in 7 days. That's what rebooking is for.;)

Ijust thought of this as I was packing, everyone puts on their florida clothes and then freeze for two hours in the terminal. Also becareful of the camera fogging up as you go out to take pictures.

We are actually coming down on Thursday before the cruise. My vacation starts when I leave work on Wednesday! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That is the same plan here. I work until eight pm Wednesday, and then vacation begins. But it starts with a twenty two hour drive.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I got my magnet images printed---now to laminate them and get the magnets on the backs-----:banana::banana:

Off to bed everyone---been getting some bad headaches the last 5 or 6 days for some reason----probably stress over all this disney stuff:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:sweet dreams everyone;)

Hooray!! We also did most of ours last Sunday. I believe goofy4ever finished them last night. Tonight, finish fish extenders and finish tshirts.

I totally LOVE that show!! I, however, have never had Chicken and Waffles - it is pretty popular :confused3. I don't like waffles, so I can't see the appeal (don't like the maple syrup)

Have you seen the show on the Food network that shows the quick rise to fame of Guy Fieri?? Love that guy!!

Sounds yuck.

Speaking of food, Kevin and his BF(forgot his name) of the DIS UNPLUGGED show, gave a review of Cat Cora's new restaurant Kouzzina at Disney's Boardwalk resort.
Bad review. After hearing all they had to say, I wouldn't bother.

FYI...... It's on this past weeks podcast show.

Thank you Rose...it is getting harder, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I got my magnet images printed---now to laminate them and get the magnets on the backs-----:banana::banana:

Congrats!! I got a good start today too!

Thanks Angie :)

Darn it...forgot to set the DVR :sad2:

Had a great time at the mini-dis meet ;)

I wonder where goofy4ever has been. She has not been on the dis boards since Sunday.

Morning Heather. Just got a text from Sean saying they are now sitted on the plane. They are across from karen and fam. I am too excited to sleep. And I'm not even the one getting to start my vacation today.:rotfl2:

Me too! How exciting to hear that everyone is traveling already:cool1:
Hurrah for them:woohoo:
Hurrah for us soon too!:yay:

I am picky too. :thumbsup2

I am pretty much a meat and potato guy.

I'm right with you there Chris & Angie. Years ago, I wanted to take Beth to one of the fancier restaurants in EPCOT. We dined at the restaurant in Italy. I forget what it was called at the time. The current one has a different name. Anyway, I was very hard pressed to find something that I would eat. :sad2: I think that I ended up ordering clams... They didn't come prepared quite how I had envisioned them. Let's just say that I was still pretty hungry after dinner was over. :rolleyes1

Can anyone give any guidance from past cruises about if nice jeans and say a polo or nice shirt are appropriate for dinner. Trying to decide what will be needed clotheswise and how many dress pants or in the case of my wife how many dresses will be needed for the dinners aboard the ship. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.:cheer2::cool1:

Was this answered? I am going clothes shopping in two hours. Sorry if it was and I missed it.

Good morning everyone! So much for sleeping in for me as well. Elaine had to leave to go to Hartford this morning and between her and Jay, they woke me up. Sam was sleeping over at a friends house. It's ok, I am watching Mr. Holland's Opus on one of the Encore channels.

Ok, I have a question...

Does anyone else "not believe" they are cruising in a week?? For me I "know" we are going but it just doesn't seem possible that we are actually going on this huge vacation we have been planning for a year. Its kind of a weird feeling, and I can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyhow, Elaine said she is packing me and Jay up tonight.

One of our "cheap garment" bags ripped when we were packing on the ship last cruise. We are squeezing everything into one garment bag this time around.

Yup, it seems crazy!
Unreal:upsidedow

Kids bounce back so fast. I am so glad he is better.

It is about 13 hours for us too. We are leaving as soon as Megan gets off work on Friday morning. She works midnight to 4:00 am. So we should be out of here by 5:00am.

I would be so happy to have a 13 hour drive instead of a 22 hour drive.. We are leaving at nine pm.

Happy Birthday Jen!

OK, the excitement is really starting to kick in now. :cloud9: I picked up a new suitcase set from Costco (1 suitcase to check and 1 carry on). I also just made an impulse camera purchase. For me, it's all about the pictures. Memory will fade over time, but pictures keep them alive. Sony has a new camera out that has exceptional low light performance and can produce panoramic pictures "inside" the camera. You sweep the camera in a smooth arc up to 256 degress and, voila everything fits in the picture! :thumbsup2 Of course, a new camera for me means that Megan (DD11) gets to have the "old" camera for herself.

Things are looking up that we will definitely make it for the cruise. I had mentioned previously that there was some doubt. My Father was recently diagnosed with a serious condition and the outlook is not good. I flew to see him right away. The short term good news is that he is doing a bit better and should be coming home today or tomorrow. He just sent me a photo from his iPhone showing his hospital room and saying that he is feeling pretty good today. :)

Safe travels to everyone who is already on their way or soon to depart. We'll see you on the ship! :cool1:

Matthew

Great news. Glad all is looking better.

I've been thinking about the photo CD also....since we're linked with 3 other rooms we should be able to get pictures from all 4 rooms with 1 photo CD, correct?

I didn't spend too much at Shutters last time, but we didn't get a lot of character pics either. We got Mickey and Minnie at port, Chip & Dale on CC, Pluto on CC, and I think Minnie on CC. We also got a formal night picture (DH and I)....

This is one thing I do plan on spending some money on. I do have a digital camera, but I also would like to get professional pictures done.
