Had a reply off DCL yesterday re ordering a gift to our cabin

Geez, you'd think I was asking for the gift for free! - no, they cant take an email with a credit card, or an email with using my onboard ship credit

I have to ring or fax

Well, she does get some perks because DCL just loves her (she's not even sure why though..) and she passes them onto us then. But, an upgrade is not one of them. It's the luck of the draw I think.

I sure hope Mike and Robin left their cell phone number for their TA so they can get a hold of them this weekend while they are visiting the Love Shack!

You never know - that upgrade fairy might have been busy issuing you all free balconies

I was tempted to book a guarantee cat 12 and chance it, but the free window was too good an opportunity to miss. Also, I think they move the families of 4 rather than the families of 3. I'm happy with what I've got. Heck,... I'd be happy on the floor in the engine room

Steve, Cheryl has already had her room allocated from guarantee. I dont get it Dont they do them all at once?

Nope, since they need to move the ship up to open cheaper lower cabins, they'll work from top down. Which Cat did she have a guarantee in? if it was 5 or 6 then they would have assigned her as soon as they opened up cabins my moving those interested to Cat 3 or 4. If she had a lower cabin then it's probably just the right time to make the changes. Remember there are LOADS of 8,9,10 and 11's available. assigning someone into one of those will be easy.

St Maarten - who's going to Orient beach? Any idea how much it is in a cab? and how far? Does it have sunloungers and chairs and toilets/showers?

We're going to the beach right by the ship. I don't know the name of that one. Passporter recommends that anyone travelling on the island make sure that they allot plenty of time for the travelling. As traffic gets backed up.
