On our last cruise with DU we got our docs exactly 3 weeks prior to sailing.

i think ours came 2 weeks out.

i noticed the online price for the radisson is now $103. what are we booked at now? 109?
waiting to see if it drops more.

So YOURE the guy who slammed the door in my face! All I'm trying to do is sell magazine subscriptions to pay for my Disney Cruise!!

no DU for us.
but i'll be checking that DCL site about 5 times a day real soon to see if we get that free upgrade.

Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath for an upgrade. I'm once again in process of changing things up with my reservation. I want to cancel the DCL transport. (it bums me out to be arriving at 1 or 2 pm!) and instead may take a FL Tours towncar. Same price so I can get to the port earlier. and Maybe. Maybe just snag an upgrade in port. I figure that with all of those Cat 4's avail there is probably a bunch fo Cat 3's avail too. So if the Cat 5's or 6's move up then I might snag a cheap cat 6 upgrade. Or, (here's a big hope against all odds) maybe I might get a cat 3 at a much cheaper price than I could ever book it. Anyway, I have an email out to DU to see if I can cancel the DCL transfers.

My mom was telling me today that she was hearing about people buying upgrades to Cat 3's for a pretty reasonable cost.

That's what's being reported on the main cruise boards. the calculation is something like $50/day/cabin type. So Cat 9 to Cat 6 should be $350 and add another $350 for a suite. Not bad. I'd go as high as $1000 for a Cat 3. But I'd have to draw the line there. But if some cat 5 or 6 snags it then I'd like to be there to get their cabin for a song!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for an oceanview. If I can swing it, maybe I will look into a port upgrade if any are available to a verandah if it is VERY reasonable. Most likely I will just stay wherever I am assigned.

Chris- how was your weather this week end? Did you get much from the storm. I was watching Ted Kennedy's funeral and they were gettin glots of rain in Boston.

My kids don't start until next week. It's a little later than usual because it is always the day after Labor Day. So, I have one more week with my sweeties at home.!

And your girls are such sweeties!!!

This guy rings the bell about three times in rapid succession (strike one, I know the sound of my doorbell and know when I need to answer it. Multiple rings only serve to annoy.) Then when I answer the door he has his iPod earphones in, with his back turned to me, dancing (strike two, if you aren't serious enough about whatever you are trying to sell how do you expect me to take you seriously?) Then he turns in an appearantly coreographed move and suddenly appears to notice me. Affects a german accent and launches into a "cutesy" bit about not being from America. (maybe this works to endear some weaker minded fools to him, but he was already on strike two and I was not in the mood for cute.) I cut him off and asked him what it was that brought him to my door. Again he starts into his long-version of the sales pitch. (Strike three, when asked to get to the point, one must always get to the point!) At that time I launched into him about interrupting me with my family time (I really don't get enough) and how rude it was to waste my time in such an inappropriate manner. (Angry-Steve) He couldn't gather up with assorted sales boxes fast enough. I really shook him up.

That would have irritated me as well!!

Well we went to open house at our kids schools tonight and met with the kids teachers. They were both totally cool about the cruise and both of their first words were, "can I come too?"

Good to hear that Chris - I will have to tell the teachers next week and I hope they have the same reaction (or maybe I'll let them get to know the girls and they will be very happy to have them be out of their classrooms for a week! )

spiderman coming to disney. who'd have thunk it?

Dave is excited about it - but I'm wondering what that will do to the Marvel related attractions at Universal!!
