10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #25

As far as food goes, that was my least favorite, but that is just me. I had a hard time finding anything on the menu that night that really appealed to me. If I remember right, I had lots of snacks on deck 9 that evening!

My favorite restaurant for food was---Parrot Cay
My favorite restaurant for atmosphere--Animator's Palate

The surprising thing for me was Pinnochio's Pizza. I really enjoyed the Hawaiian Pizza there. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoyed those chicken tenders from Pluto's, but Pizza was usually my every night snack.

I have never had the pizza in all our cruises. I am going to do that this time and the cove cafe, not a coffee drinker so have not been in there either but I have heard they have goodies in there. Can I have shrimp & pizza for lunch when we first get on???

Hello, all,

Thanks to some personal issues, I have been away from this thread for a while. Due to the fact that a couple of truly serious situations have occurred we are opting to re-schedule this cruise for 2010 instead of 2009.

The most schedule-chaos causing event may be the unpredictable but seemingly constant schedule changing of my DD, currently active duty/deployed with the USN (I take her young son when she deploys for any extended periods of time), the most serious issue(s) may be financial (unemployed and in a financial bind thanks in large part to the death of our DD) but the scariest is my DDIL was recently diagnosed with melanoma. She was diagnosed just a year and a week after the death of our DD (technically my step-, mentioned above) from this deadly disease, which certainly elevates the "scare factor" for us - as if the disease is not scary enough on its' own.

I am sorry for the late notice as I was slated to play the game as well. If it creates a problem of any sort, I would be happy to send on my trinkets to someone willing to deliver them.

I am also sorry that I will miss the experience of cruising with a group of lively, wonderful people I have come to "know" on these threads. I hope if the BOBers decide to cruise again the same time next year, you will consider adding me to the list of interested cruisers. I hope someone will continue to send me "breadcrumbs" so I can find the current thread so I can continue to visit when possible. I look forward to your trip reports and lovely pictures, and also hope you know I will be there "in spirit".

Thanks to everyone for the all the welcomes since I arrived, and a special thanks to those that reached out just that little bit further and sent me pm updates as I drifted from these threads.

Safe voyages to you~

Laurie

Laurie, sorry to hear that. I wish you and your family well and I'm sure you will have a blast on your cruise next year :goodvibes

Good morning everyone. I had a nightmare about forgetting my passport last night. My father was taking us to the airport and I had also forgotten to pack my medication. He refused to turn around and told me I could pick up a passport 'at the market'

Huh??

I have had many cruise dreams like that. The most recent one was where we showed up at the terminal and we had nothing!! No luggage, no ID, no cruise docs :scared1::eek: It was horrible!!! :sad2: I hate dreams like that! :headache:

That would be Alex. She fell on Saturday morning and broke her ankle.:headache: At least it has plenty of time to heal before the cruise.:thumbsup2

Poor Alex  Hope it's fully healed by cruise time! pixiedust:

Yes, :welcome: back. Jeff/Angie.

There is loads of info on Cass's site

http://www.cassworld.ca/bobers.htm

and she was planning on producing a BOB-igator for us too.

Glad to have you back Angie and Jeff :cool1:

I will be working on the BOBigator in September, that way no one will cancel ;):thumbsup2:lmao:

I'm starting my pre trip report right now.

I was planning on starting mine on Sunday :woohoo:

I am sure you can if you go to multiple restaurants or send Roger to get your pizza while you get your shrimp. Then meet at one of the tables between the Goofy pool and Topsiders.:thumbsup2

I was just uber bored this afternoon and thought, "what the heck" As I was writing though I realized that I believe today is the anniversary to us joining this cruise. I think it was August 6th that I hopped on the thread, so perhaps it all worked out in the end.

It should be fun. I am thinking updating once every several days all the way up until sailaway. After the cruise I will do a complete trip report separately.

I must admit, I don't really mind which rotation were on. We'll be sailing with great people which is most important.

I'm almost thinking of requesting Leslie as our waiter and take whatever rotation he is on. He was awesome.

Suz thought he said he wasn't going to renew though after he got off.

There is always Leesa from Jamaica. She was good too.

I actually lived out that dream.

Although, I guess it doesn't count since it was the Friday night before the KK cruise and we took a drive down by the docks. :rotfl2:

Yeah, I was going to wait until about 30 days out but I am too excited and want to start it this weekend :goodvibes

Yeah, it doesn't count ;) :rotfl2:

The worst one I had was just last week, I dreamt that we were sailing again with Rob's family :scared1::eek::scared1::eek: (wait, that's not the scariest part ) and they had about 20 bags to check in and I had to do it myself and the line for it was soooo long and it took me hours to get it all done. By the time I got on board, it was supper time and I was soooooo miffed:mad: Mostly I was mad that I had missed the BOB meet:rolleyes1 :rotfl2::lmao:

Question:

Once you have your Disney Rewards card in your hand, how long does it take to add more "money" to it? Is it immediately? :confused3

I just ordered one for $25.00 and will probably load it with a few more rewards points shortly before the cruise but I don't think I want to use all of my rewards this time.

I just did this today too:thumbsup2

I'm not quite sure but I thought it was fairly quick after you already had the card.

I thought it was immediate. You could do it online, then check your balance.:thumbsup2

I have to get my first rewards card. I have just over 100 coming to me. Not bad for just having it since November.

Do you have access to your regular Visa through Chase's site?

If so, you can tranfer the points instantly there. I have a $25 card for both Suz and I. We will load them right before we go. Just remember, if you load well before you leave and will add some more immediately before you go, you have to xfer a minimum of $10.

Good info...I didn't know about the $10 minimum. Thanks, Big Daddy!:thumbsup2

How's things? Are you seeing cross-eyed yet from all that work with numbers?

Yep! It will be another late night (or should I say early morning) tonight.

The most sleep I got this week was last night which was 4 1/2 hours. I think I had 2 hours on Sunday into Monday. No more than 4 each of Monday or Tuesday nights.

Tonight might be another 2-3 hour night.

I'm actually still in the office now, but just finished a major reconciliation, so I will pack up now and head home.

I will stop by here though on and off because it is a nice little break from the numbers. :thumbsup2

Hey Paige, should we make the next 120 posts and get this thing closed? :rotfl:
