THat STINKS!! But the fees are how they make the money. I am glad we live close enough to be able to drive down (plus I hate to fly). I forgot about the school thing, though!! Our girls will be out for 6 consecutive days (more than they have ever missed in their entire school career). I figure if I tell the teachers on the first day of school, they will be prepared (plus they are good students)

The schools are closed the last Thur and Fri of October up here in WI. DS will only miss 3 days that week and then 2 the prior week.

As for the fees, they will have tough competition when SW comes into MKE though. It may sway a lot of people from them.

Gotta run. DW wants me to move the stuff from the downstairs fridge back up to the upstairs one (we just had our floors done and the fridge was moved out. Now it is back in so we can use it again). Thanks to the little elf that let me help him move it. :rotfl:

Our kids are out the first two days in November (Election day and teacher work day) but since I am an accountant and I can't miss the first 3 business days in November, we had our cruise at the end of October. Which is great because now I met all you folks!!!:love:

I wish we would get SW here in Richmond - flights are high here as well.

One last thing - my brother made it over to Iraq safe and sound on Saturday. He's at the really big base outside of Baghdad - Balad.

I'm headed to bed. It's late and morning comes early round these here parts!

Nighty night everyone!

Quick passport question...

What does everyone do about their kids "signing" the passports? Do you let them sign it, or do you sign their name??

Just curious.

I let my son sign his, but he was 12 at the time. I think that if the can write (not print) their name, then let them do it :thumbsup2

Boy, either I am too early for a :sail: or too late....hopefully I will be able to time it perfectly before the cruise :sad2:

Thanks for the awesome welcome, everyone! This is one busy thread - I have a ton of pages to catch up on...but I'll get there.

I will go back and find the reply to my post for the Dis Tag, and I'll send over the PM. THANKS a bunch!

:welcome: Queenie and family! From a newbie to this group I can say that everyone is very welcoming and helpful if you have any questions.

So, when we booked our outbound flight for the cruise, the airline's last non-stop was only at 2:55 in the afternoon. Not wanting to pull DS out of school anymore, we opted for the connecting flight at 6:13 arriving at 11:32. Now the darn airline moved the non-stop to 6:00 arriving around 9:30 or 9:45. I called to see if they'd put us over there, but nope, wouldn't budge.

Like it costs them anything to move us. The guy even said the fees are a main stream of revenue for them. I said, 'yeah, I know, you nickel and dime us for everything, even the first bag".

I should have said good thing Southwest is coming to Milwaukee, at least then we can escape all your fees.

We can fly standby, but we'd have to get to the airport early. But DS won't get out of school until 3:30. We won't get to the airport until 4:00. I'm sure any standby's will be gone by then.

Now if our current flight moves by 10 minutes, we are eligible for a free transfer. I have faith that AT will move that flight, heck they moved us one year 7 times in 6 months.

I had a similiar problem with Delta a few years back. I sat on the phone for hours (about 4) to get them to change our flight to an early one that was more logical for us. After going through numerous workers ending with a manager, I was able to get them to move our ressies, suprisingly without any additional fees. It was fustrating that I had to be on the phone for hours to get the change made. I mean these airlines got us..excuse me for saying this...by the balls as my better half would say. Wasn't the reason for charging the customer a baggage fee due the high gas costs??? I never seen them remove it when the gas came down. Because of these additional costs, we have figured it is cheaper for us to drive then spend an extra seat cost for our bags  I would rather use that money on the ship than give it to the airlines.

Sorry for my rant, but the whole extra baggage fee (for the 1st bag) really erks me!!

I too cannot wait for Southwest to come to MKE. At least it gives us another option and from what I hear they have good service and no baggage fees :cool1:

Good Night & Good Morning to everyone...getting a jump on Thursday.

I can only read the boards at work because the site is blocked once I try to log in. So wonder why I miss the opportunity to get a :sail:.

I have a feeling I will have 4 waiting for me when I get to my room. They will even have my room number stamped on them!

:rotfl2:

have you got a surprise planned on oct 18th for robins and my anniversary?

We get there on the 17th, sop the 18th is our forst "proper" day. You're welcome at the villa. I'll even make sure your food doesnt touch:goodvibes:rotfl:

Karen and Neil had a great meal too on KK1 with us.

Sure did:thumbsup2

This time round I am NOT sharing that grape and cheese pizza though. I want one of those for every course:lmao:

Jeff, if you think you're going to snag another :sail: I'm telling Suz. :lmao:

:lmao:

No, I'll get in too much trouble for that. :rolleyes1

Swiper!:scared1:...... "Suz, Suz, your sneeky husband is swiping all the googleys, tell him to stop!"

Just don't tell my wife I stole another one. ;)

Too late:snooty:

One last thing - my brother made it over to Iraq safe and sound on Saturday. He's at the really big base outside of Baghdad - Balad.

 Oh no! Did anyone else manage to grab a photo? - ask around, someone is bound to have got one of him.

Since I displayed the graduation photographs I took at school I have had loads of compliments. I'm really pleased that people like them, Its un-nerving taking photos as a total amateur when they are used to the big professionals with all their equipment coming in. The school have already booked me for next year:rotfl:...free of charge of course:rolleyes:

Not too bad people:thumbsup2

I had a few pages to catch up on:thumbsup2, so no detention today;)

4.45am seems to be my wake up time at the moment:rolleyes::headache:

Distag delivery

This seems to be a popular option, so we're going with this

I will sort the players into deck order and give you a list in that order. You start under your name and tag 5 a day. That way, you should only be going to 1 or 2 decks each day rather than all over the ship.

So far we have:

deck 2 - 3 players
deck 3 - 0 players
deck 4 - 0 players
deck 5 - 5 players
deck 6 - 6 players
deck 7 - 6 players
gty - 4 players
still to be advised - 1 player.
