You have inspired me to try and return to a very old hobby of mine - I even purchased a basic photography book at a book sale and I will be looking for some adult ed classes here once they start up again - thank you!

My kids' last day is Monday the 8th, but it's only a half day. Emily starts finals this Tuesday.

We leave for WDW early on the 13th, and we are staying at AKV. Three nights at Kidani and two at Jambo.....can't wait!

Have you seen the pics of THV? We may do that in 2011.....

Maybe we can meet up if interested! We're trying out THV for 3 nights checking in early on the 14th and then it's on to AKV especially to try out the new Kidani pool area.

edited to add: You guys don't per chance play Mexican Train dominoes, do you? With a 3 BR THV it would even leave space for kids to crash whilst the big kids play....

Sorry, but we've never even heard of Mexican Train Dominoes...:lmao:

Maybe we will be able to get a drink by the pool at AKV....:thumbsup2

We don't actually check in until the 14th and we check out on the 19th.....We usually head back to the hotel midday.

I only got hooked recently ... it only started because of this 10 week parent and child course. We're on week 6 and I'm loving it!

The best thing to do is always have your camera to hand. I've started looking at everything to see what would be a good photo:rotfl:...its addictive!

So what's the latest with everyone? I know that Karen is developing mad skills (that's a compliment) as a photographer, but what about everyone else?

Did the graduation pics come out ok, Karen?

Has Heather come back with a "thumbs up" from her trip?

Has Robin started classes for her PhD?

Has the next Bober child's wedding taken place?

Are Sean and Cath getting gray hair yet?--I saw the pics from your London trip--Olivia is growing up and gorgeous!

And where in the world is Sistah Goose?

No answers to those questions, but our upcoming events revolve mostly around DD Megan. She and I will be going to the new student orientation Monday night for Middle School! Then next week she has 5th grade "graduation" and a banquet for the 5th grade "Wall of Pride". For the last, they had to do volunteer hours at the school and in the community and have good citizenship and grades at school. After a little push, she got her volunteer hours done! :goodvibes

Other than that, they are both in the midst of standardized tests (called SOLs here). They are done partially for evaluation and partially for the "no child left behind" testing. Then they will finish the year, have class picnics and end school on the 17th. Then, it won't be long before we're all hitting WDW!!!:yay::yay:

Something of that sort happens to scrapbookers too! I started scrapbooking when Megan was a baby. I started seeing the world through scrapbook photo ops (though not as bad as my coworker!) I haven't done anything with them for quite awhile, but baby pics are the easiest to "set up" for the scrapbook!

I used to be the photographer for the family...when we were using film. Once Matthew got his fancy digital camera, I lost the priviledge. He does take great pictures, but I still want the camera in my hands! (Just as an example, before digital, I took 14 rolls of film- 24 or 36 print-- at WDW on our honeymoon! --coming up on 20 years ago. We'll be back there for our anniversary!)

Yes, my kids made fun of me for years because I was always behind a camera. Of course, now that they are getting older and are parents themselves they are quite happy I was (and am) so afflicted....

I am currently working with a kindergarten class, making a pictorial/slide show. I have let the kids loose with a camera - it is amazing some of the interesting or even artistic pictures they have taken!

and perhaps my favorite (check out those shadows!):

None of these has been edited in any way - these were each taken by a five or six year old. I have lots more, too - amazingly well-framed, good exposures and picture balance, etc. - amazing, all things considered.
