So I just picked up this USB adapter that allows me to import VHS to the computer. So, I uploaded a video that my brother has been buggin' me to do for years.
The Universal Studios Star Trek Adventure.
Starring Me, my brother Rick and my brother Stuart.
(I'm playing the chekov character)

Cool!
I have one of those tapes, too! I had completely forgotten about it. I was one of the controlling aliens. (Matthew just watched the show.) It was really fun. Unfortunately, I don't have the capability of transferring it. Plus, I have no idea where it is!Maybe I'll take a look some day and see if Matthew can do anything with it.
I picked up the Roxio Creator from Costco. they have a package that includes the USB adapter and all the software. You will need access to a VHS player though. I had a old one in the workshop that I had been holding onto for just this sort of task. Laura's Grandfather had a whole box of Videotape from when Laura was little and I want to preserve it on DVD.
see who can take the most interesting and surprising photo on our trip.
Hi Karen!
Glad to hear your reunion went ok
Would love to see those pics!
Looking at Trip Insurance tonight. Looking to see who will cover financial default now, as opposed to the policy needing to be purchased within 14 or 21 days from INITIAL deposit.
Anyone else NOT get their insurance yet?
Did anyone pick up on the Red Shirt joke? Here's how it goes. In the old series the guy on the landing party wearing the red shirt was usually the guy who got killed. (not always true but trekkers joke about it all the time.)
Well, in this film there's a scene where Kirk, Sulu and another crewmember parachute from a spacecraft to a platform above a planet. Kirk and Sulu pull their 'chutes at the appropriate time but the other one decides to be a daredevil and pull his late. He skitters across the platform then his red 'chute gets caught and swings him directly into a plasma beam. Fried Ensign. Well, instead of the guy with the red shirt getting it, it was the guy with the red 'chute.
My son loved the movie! (he's not as much a sci-fi nut that I am) He had a million questions for me at the end. I explained to him about the hidden joke and he thought that was pretty funny.
Wish me luck this morning
I have to taker Mom to the bank to sort out her finances
She still expects 6% interest.....I pity the poor bloke when he tells her she'll get around 1 or 2%
I can hear her now, moaning all the way home.... luckily its a short journey
On a brighter note its photo class day again todayIf its dry we're doing sports shots outdoors of our kids on scooters etc
...not sure what we're doing if its raining
I also want to pick his brains for my school grad photos... best setting etc for portraitsI have a portrait mode, but I want to know which flash, ISO etc.
I also want to know if the camera I have has continuos shoot mode. That would be great for eg Shamu jumping, sports day races etc.
I know some of the higher models have it, but not sure if mine does. Misplaced the manual...its around here somewhere, but

That sounds like a cool project. We do have some old videos of the kids and previous vacations that would be great to save. I think we still have one VHS player...because it's dual VHS and DVD! Even our video camera is digital now. Matthew would have to tackle it, though. I'm still needing to put the hundreds of pre-digital pix into their scrapbooks!![]()
