I'm still on the camera hunt. I stopped at a camera shop today and asked for advice on my Olympus. Looks like there is nothing I can do to speed up the horrible shutter lag except to buy an SLR. I'm looking at the Nikon D-60 but it's pricey and BIG!!! Other one's I'm looking at are the smaller Sony Cyber Shot W220 and the Canon Powershot SD79015. I'm soooo undecided!!

Have you considered a Panasonic? The shutter delay is quick compared to my fuji. I have the fx01, but there are newer models out now.

This is too cool that the kids can play together like this.

Ellis had to go to Grandma's, so sorry it was just a short play

They tried but couldn't get connected for some reason...:confused3

PS...We have a cream cracked young lady in the house, poor kid is out on her feet,oh and the sun is shining.......:rolleyes1

Sorry we missed them. He is off all week. If you have a day during the week you're not running around, let us know.

L and Ellis will be playing a couple times this week.

As for your "ps", what the heck does that mean? Is she sleeping? You're supposed to keep her up for another 3 hours. However, I bet she sleeps for 12 hours until you guys get going for tomorrow's adventure.

Forgot about that. We'll have the two play at least a couple more times this week while he's off.

Enjoy the curry tonight. I still can remember what we had on the Repo. It was good. You would have loved it.

Poor kid thinks she's on selection, she's coming around about now but she had 50 winks while Hazel filled up the car,Rosie said she here one minute gone the next....:lmao:

What are doing to that poor child. Drugging her? :rotfl2:

I know that feeling though when you're over tired. Will sleep anywhere.

If it were me, I'd just sleep the 12 hours and be on your time at this point. Probably the easiest way to get her to GMT.

Did you look either up on the websites I sent you? I think the Sony may give you the date stamp you're looking for. Also, if it is a "W", aren't those the water resistent ones? :confused3 Not sure, never really researched Sony when I was buying.

The Canon would be similar to Suz. By the way, that is IS at the end, not 15. It stands for Image Stabilization (which is something you really want). :thumbsup2

As for DSLR's I don't think you'll find a small one of those. I was looking at those for my camera (opposed to Suz who wants a pocket camera). Too pricey and complex for me to deal with. I just like point and shoot. Heck, I still haven't figured out all of my Kodak. :rotfl:

I'm gong to be looking those all up. I have the websites right here. What I can't understand is that the kids have the same camera as I do right now. I have my settings exactly the same as theirs and their shutter speed is much quicker than mine. And yes....my batteries are charged up.

I really want a date stamp too and the Canon I mentioned had that but not the Sony.

Karen, I love the pics you get from your camera. I'll look yours up too.

My old camera (Fuji A303 Fine-Pix) which is only 3.2 Mega Pixels has a much quicker shutter speed. Weird huh?:confused3

As for your "ps", what the heck does that mean?

Do you mean what does it stand for?:confused3

Forgot about that. We'll have the two play at least a couple more times this week while he's off.

No problem, I'm sure Ellis will enjoy it.

I could eat it every night:rolleyes1.... I love all the fattening dishes though:rolleyes1... either deep fried stuff or sauces full of cream:rolleyes1

We have an old fuji f401, it was ok, but I MUCH prefer the panasonic. My model is going really cheap now. I think there have been several since. Have a look on ebay too:thumbsup2 - I got my waterproof one off a dealer on ebay for much cheaper than the stores were stocking it for.:thumbsup2

The panasonic does everything for you. Anti shake, sepia, b/w etc etc. I like the macro facility, and portrait, but the only one I think is rubbish is the fireworks option - don't bother without a tripod.:sad2:

The Leica lens is excellent

It charges quickly too - no heavy AA batteries - small rechargeable that lasts ages.:thumbsup2

Plus its tiny compared to others of comparable quality.:thumbsup2 I discounted loads of models due to shutter speed before I settled on the panasonic.

We have the football...:rolleyes1

PS....The nice Pakistani Immigration man gave the kid a hard time,oh the irony....:rolleyes1

She said even the flight attendant was amazed at all the questions he was asking her, makes me happy to know she had someone with her her first time going through that.

Karen you could be my diet buddy if you like....:rolleyes1

Rachel has been here an hour and she's already had a proper Bacon buttie and has now gone shopping with Rosie.....:rolleyes1

Karen am still unsure as to whereabouts we'll be later in the week but we'll let you know if were anywhere near you....Free lunch?...:rolleyes1

Shopping already :scared1: Remind her that she told me she was only buying 3 things for herself :rotfl2:

They tried but couldn't get connected for some reason...:confused3

When she is tired she can sleep anywhere and that here one minute gone the next doesn't surprise me :rolleyes1

Cheryl and Jeff,
I'm excited just ready about your excitement. I hope Rachel has a fabulous time in the UK.

Welcome toEngland Rachel:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I hope you packed an umbrella:rolleyes1

I was going to have her pack an umbrella and then we forgot, hopefully she brought some sun with her and won't need one!

That was awesome being able to track Rachel coming over. Bet that made you feel better Cheryl. We kept wondering yesterday when she was going to arrive.
Chris if are over our way let us know, we could meet for lunch. (are you still eating)? Are you taking her to Man United or is that a silly question.
Its sunny here so hopefully its fine over the pennine.
Cheryl/Jeff - can you let me know the website that you tracked the plane, it may come in handy for next year.:thumbsup2

Cheryl, I hope Rachel has the time of her life!!!!!!

Cath, we need to mark that website.:thumbsup2

Woo Hoo for Rachael. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Have lots of fun. Diane and Walt

Cheryl - Glad Rachel made it fine. I know she will have a great time!

Here you go.

The first one is the one that tracks the flight the whole way. What you need to do after you put the flight in is click on the "Launch Live" button in the "Arrival" section to bring up a closer map screen.

http://www.flightview.com/

This second one let's you look at the changes in altitude and speed. Just click on "Enroute" to the left of the map.

http://flightaware.com/

This last one is o.k., but not as good as the first two. What I like about it is you can put in the arrival airport and see ALL the flights that are going to that airport on a given day.

http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight

Cath and Lori, the first website Jeff has listed here was great for watching her flight, really cool to see and then to know she had landed :thumbsup2

I was thinking about Rachel all day today. I see everything went well. :thumbsup2

:grouphug:A late hug for all of you.

Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts and wishes for Rachel's trip :grouphug:

Nancy, that''s weird that the kids is quicker than yours :confused3 Doesn't Janice have the same camera too? I think the Olympus one you have is the same one we just got a few weeks ago. Rach has used it a few times already and says she loves it , she said the shutter is a little slow but nothing compared to how slow the Kodak we have. She took both cameras with her because she said with her luck something would happen to one and then at least she'd have a backup, I couldn't argue with her on that one.

Don't worry Cheryl she's appears to be having a blast, her and Rosie are pulling Ryan's leg over his visit to the Pictures tonight with his mate and two lady friends......:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

I did an hour wii fit today:yay:

My "wii fitness coach" arrived this morning too. Apparantly it takes about 30 minutes to set up, so I havent had time yet, but I'll let you all know how I get on:thumbsup2

Its got really good reviews:thumbsup2

Suz was looking at getting the "fitness coach". Let me know how it is. Her B-day is in May, I might get it for her.

I read reviews and they all say its better than the wii fit. Harder, more like proper exercise than the fitness games on the wii fit. I believe the pauses arent so long either. Thats the one thing that annoys me on the wii fit... it takes too long to switch between sections, so your heart rate comes back down, although I've just unlocked the super advanced boxing - 10 minutes - thats quite a good one:thumbsup2

Karen, I'll be interested in hearing what you think about the Wii fitness coach too. I have been thinking about using a gift card I have to get that one too. I think Becky had said she has that one and likes it.
I love the super advanced boxing on the Wii fit :thumbsup2

Poor Ryan :rotfl2:

Let Rachel know we will be leaving in a minute or 2 to go visit Aunt Rose, when she hears that she will be very happy that she is there instead of here having to go with us ;)
