Believe it or not you get used to it. Now I am cold if it's under 75!!!

That's what I keep hearing. I have two good friends who moved to Florida from Wisconsin and neither one of them were crazy about the heat and humidity. Now they just love it.

Holy Smokes--thunder, lightning and raining like crazy here this morning......:scared1::eek::scared1:

Lucky stiff! :)

Not sure how many days I'll be in this week. DS is now in school on Friday to make up snow/cold days earlier in the school year.

Suz may have off, so I may stay home. I'm off all next week with DS. First time since he started school. We'll see how that whole week goes.

Should someone be checking in on you two next week? :rotfl:
No Grandma Edna this time?

Heather, did you win any awards for your flowers this past weekend?:wizard: How about those piccies?:cloud9:

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a restful night. I am taking my time going to the office today. I have a meeting at City Hall at 11:00 today. Our YMCA announced 10 days ago that they are closing their doors on April 30th. There is a mad rush in the city to brainstorm how to keep it open. I am involved in the dialogue, but in these economic times we are in no position to take over the building and programming. It is good to be visible though.
Thats a lovely piccie:goodvibes

Good morning everyone!

Christian: That's a great pic and I know I've mentioned this before but, wow...do those kids ever look just like you, especially Jay. :cutie:
Thanks. We were posing with the CM photographer, but my mom snapped that picture with my camera. We really like that one! I think my mom has the 8 x 10 from Shutters of that.

A lot of people think that Jay is a spitting image of me, and that Samantha is her mother but with blonde hair.

I thought you were the one who was going to organize this for us. ;)

If you're out of the loop, blame yourself. :rotfl2:

...sure, blame the girl with brain issues....:rotfl:only teasing

I was getting ready to PM you (really) and find out what you thought about that seafood place or if you have even seen it. Let me know. It's just an idea. Are you all going up to see the bike ride in DC? If Scott is not on call we may do it. harrison would love it.

No, I hadn't told her this idea. Scott and I had just thought of it the other night when we were talking about your visit. So it is my fault.

Seafood always sounds good to us. PM me or email with the name and such.....

As for the bike ride, not sure. Have to find out the date....Is it May 23?

Walt, are y'all coming North on 95, or cutting across 66?

Good morning, y'all. It's Spring Break this week. We're not planning too much, but on Thursday we are going to go to DC to see the Cherry blossoms, and on Friday, we are headed to King's Dominion--fingers crossed that the doc gives me the ok to ride. :goodvibes

Hey everyone...I am finally home after a very LONG Palm Sunday. I can't believe it is almost 6:00 already. Where does all the time go???

Funny story about Charleston seafood. My aunt and uncle took me on vacation with them when I was around 12 years old. We went to Isle of Palms, SC. Its an island suburb of Charleston, and we saw all of the sights of Charleston. They to this day, do not let me live down the fact that we went to a dockside seafood restaurant ( a lot like Grills) somewhere in that area and I ordered a cheeseburger. I was a kid, and thats what I lived on! :confused3 I don't eat much seafood now, but I like shrimp, NE Clam Chowder and some other stuff. Just last year when our family was together, we were at a large smorgasbord in PA and they brought that up yet again. Here I am, 35 years old and can't live down my childhood dietary choices! I am still quite picky, but my diet has broadend significantly.

The next few months are busy for us, but speaking for myself, I'm up for it if I can fit into my schedule.

I guess the ball is in Walt & Di's court since they're the ones traveling.

Good morning all,

Going to be a long week here, my replacement from Dallas is coming for training..........

:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

Just talked to Maw Maw Walter's mother. She told me all about her first Disney World trip. She went last week with her grand daughter to watch her great granddaughter in high school musical, parade at Hollywood Studios and Fantasmic. She went to all four parks. She loved the Carousel of Progress, parades and fireworks. It must be magical for real there. Us Disney believers know it is truly a magical place. She stayed up until midnite every night. She usually goes to bed at 8. She made me lonesome for Disney World. Diane

:woohoo::woohoo:Go, Maw Maw, go!:woohoo::woohoo:
Carousel of Progress is one of my Emily's faves. She's upset that it will be shut down when we are there this June.

Good Morning
I assume that once you have trained he or she they will go back to Dallas and they will close your office in May? What ever the case try to have a good week and be a good teacher.

Dan

Have a great week Joanne and yes be a good patient teacher. Diane

Thats bad yesterday Nancy and I went for our 30 min daily walk and it was 58 degrees you would have been freezing. Although Joanne Nancy thought is was chilly because we had a little wind.
Oh how we would both love to live the winter FLA or move there. As a born and bred Maineer the older we get we hate the COLD.
As long as Nancys parents are still alive we won't be doing anything but going on Cruises and trips to the World for a couple weeks at a time.

Dan

Yes since I have moved to warmer climate I don't like the cold either. I never warm up once I chill. Yesterday was a beautiful day just a bit windy. Today it is very chilly. It is 51 degrees here today. Quite a difference from 85 degrees. Diane

I feel like breaking into...

There's a great big beautiful tomoooorooowwww, shining at the end of every daaaaaaaay...

Does anyone remember the other version of Carousel of Progress? The song went like this.

Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of our lives...

Thanks! Whenever we dressed up, Elaine always insists on some type of wardrobe similarity and match up. It will be interesting to see what she is thinking this cruise. I am sure she already has in her mind what we are wearing for both formal nights.

She is funny about the cruise. She says she won't be excited until September. She can't get excited this far out. I can't figure her out! :confused3pirate::confused:

Nice family how old are the kids? I don't get excited until it's closer either - not til after our July vacation - plus with my parent being so old anything can happen.

Yes I have been to York beach many times. Also I lived on Cape Cod every summer my growing up years. Never knew how lucky I was. Di
Maybe that would be a good place to meet if it's not too far for Chris.

I have lived in New England for 11 years now, but have never been to the Cape. Maybe next summer...:confused3

I've never been either - unless you count when my mother was pregnant with me. They lived in Brewster & that would have been my name if I'd been a boy.

Oh yeah, time to get ready for work..........:rolleyes1

Bet that's what's heading here....

Ain't that the truth - she wore jeans on our cruise last Sept. lol

Samantha is now 9 and Jay is 7. In fact, yesterday was Jay's birthday, so in his words, "he is so proud he is 7 finally."

When that picture was taken, Samantha was 6 and Jay was 4. I was showing one of our friends our cruise pictures from 2006 last night and she remarked how tiny my kids were in the pics.

Brewster is a very pretty little town on the cape. Diane

Walt, are y'all coming North on 95, or cutting across 66?

My route is 66 from Manassas National Battlefield.

Rally is Sunday May 24th. I will be riding with Patriot HD from Fairfax. The Patriot HD group will have approximately 3,500 riders. Route starts at the Pentagon at Noon and ends at VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL.

The major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is to publicize POW-MIA issues: To educate the public that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war-missing in action. “WE WILL NEVER FORGET”.

Been told by many, that this is a very moving event, not to be missed.

Di and I are open for whatever the meet and greet can be: Dinner, Pool Party, Meet at "A Memorial during Sunday's Rally", etc. Would love to visit with Bober's. We will be arriving Saturday and leaving Tuesday. :grouphug:

We'll have to try to meet up. It's the perfect time--Memorial Day weekend.

I thought they looked about the same age as our youngest grandkids -6 & 3. They're both blondies.
