I got some exciting news last night, I am a great-aunt again :cool1: My niece and her husband have been on the "waiting list" to adopt a baby for almost 3 years now (they have a 7 year old daughter and then they were not able to have another baby after having her). They found out a few months ago that someone had chosen them to be the parents of a baby due the end of March! Of course this happened just after my nieces husband was downsized out of his job so they had a "few extra hoops they've needed to jump through" in order to be allowed to proceed but they got everything worked out :goodvibes My sister called last night and said the baby boy was born yesterday afternoon at 2:45, he was 8#,8oz and those are the only details she had so far, my niece and her husband and their daughter were driving from their home near Chicago to the adoption agency in Indianappolis to pick up the baby. (It was a home delivery with a mid-wife so because the baby wasn't born in a hospital the adoption agency picked him up and they pick the baby up there.) We are waiting to hear about eye and hair color and what name they decide on. My niece has 2 names picked out but wanted to see the baby before she decides on which one, I hope my sister calls me from work when she gets more news. The birth mother has 24 hours to relinquish her rights so we are still hoping and praying she doesn't change her mind about this.

That is so exciting.:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hi guys and gals. I have been super bust planning an Easter Egg hunt for this weekend for our Relay for Life team. i've been stuffing 1500+ eggs and making bracelets. Just wanted to catch up and say hey. Hopefully after this weekend I can get back on here more often.

Cheryl, I hope Rachel's trip if fabulous. On what airline did she get a good deal? PM me with details if you wish. We have been thinking of letting Alex go over sometime. We've pretty much ruled it out for this year but we are all going next summer.

Lori good luck with your Easter egg hunt :goodvibes
(I sent you a PM ;))

Congrats Cheryl.

Is this the niece and nephew you are staying with before your flights for the BOB?

Will you and Al be making a side trip to see the baby when you drop Rachel off for her flight?

Gotta love Fat Free Pringles. Now that they downsized the canister, it is only 6 WW points and just over 400 calories for the WHOLE CANISTER.

Thanks. The poem is for Joanne. She's 4 post from her milestone.

I actually use to write Suz a poem every year for our anniversary as well as one for our wedding. Wrote one to get engaged too.

I've stopped now. :rolleyes1

I thought if you're writing poems for other's milestones I'd put in my request for you to help me nice and early :rotfl2:

You have a number of months before your next anniversary, you should start thinking of a poem for Suz again, that's sweet that you wrote poems for her. My sister-in-law has a great voice and she wrote a song that she sang to my brother at their wedding, it was beautiful.

No :sad2: they had to cancel cause Robs grandma had to go in for surgery that she may not come out of :sad1: so he left to go to Saskatoon to see her before she goes in.

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:for them all.

This is a different niece and nephew than the one we will stay with in Oct. I have 2 that live in the Chicago area. I was thinking maybe we could stop and see the new baby after we pick Rachel up at OHare when she comes home. I guess because this is an adoption where they will be traveling across state lines there is a waiting period before they can go home and because the baby was born in the "late" afternoon they might not be able to take him "home" until the middle to end of next week. So for now they are staying in a hotel in Indianappolis.

How many people do you have coming to the wedding Mike? How did the shower go?

I'm doing ok. I can always use a hug but I've got 3 other family members who need one more than me. Mind if I pass your hugs onto them?:love:

Nancy here's some hugs for you and some to pass along too :hug::hug::hug::hug:

No doubt you will be.:hug:

Thanks Janice. I sure hope so.:cutie:

Come on Joanne, you under estimate the creativity of accounts. Granted we think out the "other" side of the brain from the creative people, but we can come up with stuff sometimes.

To prove it, here is a poem you can use:

They call me Joanne,
I live in Florida,
In the summer
It’s sunny and torrid, uh,

I’m not much for poems,
My state won’t rhyme,
But I’m on the DIS,
Just passing the time.

Speaking of time,
It keeps ticking away;
I’m dreaming of October
And Castaway Cay.

O.K., it is a little lame and the "uh" is in the wrong spot, but it works. :rotfl:

EXCELLENT!!!:thumbsup2

How about $$ for stamps at post office.

Baby Powder...never tried that. You learn something new every day. You can also get those travel size powder bottles which makes it easier to carry.

Good idea Heather. And yes, that baby powder is fantastic. It gets the sand out of other "nooks and crannies" too. :rolleyes:

Well, it's 5.30pm and I'm waiting for Rick to get home. I've done so much today and I think I'm almost ready for tomorrow.

Make sure to take lots of pictures. We'll be expecting a full report on Sunday along with a picture of your blue ribbon for 1st place! :cheer2:

Very sweet Jeff. Chuck always makes my cards using crayons. I think he bought me one card in all the years we've been married, the rest he made for me and I've kept every single one of them. :hug:

Gotta love Fat Free Pringles. Now that they downsized the canister, it is only 6 WW points and just over 400 calories for the WHOLE CANISTER.

Kristin loves those too. :love: Sour cream and onion flavor. I have to give them another try. I wasn't a big fan the last time I tried them. :confused3

Nancy here's some hugs for you and some to pass along too :hug::hug::hug::hug:

Thanks Cheryl. I'll pass them on tonight when we go to visit him. :grouphug:

Question for anybody.......

A lady I work, with who also loves Disney, is planning a trip in August. She is wanting to stay at Caribbean Beach Resort but not sure. She has read some questionable comments about it. Which area would you stay in and why do you like it so much? I have told her that I remember reading that a few of you have stayed there and loved it. She has 2 kids ages 13 and 10.

Thanks for the help.

We've stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort a few times and we were always happy there. We've been in the Aruba, Barbados and Martinique sections and we thought they were all nice. The landscaping is very pretty and nice and tropical. The food court has a nice variety and you can eat inside or out.

You guys should see my desk right now. I have my lunch in front of me and had to use two plates!!

Turkey sandwich, yogurt, apple, red cabbage, pickled beets, carrots, radishes, pickles and and Arnold Palmer to wash it down with. Jeff, tell Suz thanks for the great beverage idea! I'm officially addicted now. :rotfl:

Sounds like a good and healthy lunch, you're making me hungry. What's an Arnold Palmer again, I forgot? Is it iced tea and lemonade?

Yup. Last year at Jeff & Suz's house she served a sugar free iced tea and sugar free lemonade. Normally, I'm not a fan of sweetened iced tea but this stuff was delicious. I suppose it's sweetened with splenda or something. She gets it at Walmart. Every time we go for a quick lunch or dinner somewhere she orders an Arnold Palmer. So I decided to mix the two together myself and it's sooooo good. I threw it in the freezer here at work for a few hours and now I have a AP Slushie! :goodvibes

Sounds yummy, I like iced tea and I like lemonade, I'm going to have to try an AP!

We had a little snow this morning but now the sun is out :goodvibes I'm going to go take Belle for a walk while I have the chance.
