Well, I'm going to be norty today and totally ignore the big pile of ironing waiting for me and go sit in the garden with a cuppa for a while to read. It was cold and miserable this morning but its turned sunny and warm now so I'm going to make the most of it.:cool1:

Later peeps:goodvibes

I go all the time to my grandkids school to cheer everyone on. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Most of the time my daughter is not able to so I am there to support them. Everyone at the school knows me as Elijah or Asiah's gramma.:banana: Diane

Your grandkids are the luckiest, every child should have a grandma like you.

Cass told me about that today. I'm keeping grandma in my prayers. That prayer list of mine is getting longer and longer lately.

:hug::hug::hug:for Rob, Cass, and family....

Need to get this on the new thread :rolleyes1

:lmao:

Boy would I love to have a copy of the DVD!

The only problem is that the DVD probably has me and Karen with our skirts blown over our heads. Curses on the wind on Deck 10! :headache:

nearly poem time for joanne.:woohoo::woohoo:

what rhymes with Florida?:rotfl2:

Have at it, I don't think anything and I am a boring accountant, no creativity here!! just remember its before 9:rotfl:

Come on Joanne, you under estimate the creativity of accounts. Granted we think out the "other" side of the brain from the creative people, but we can come up with stuff sometimes.

To prove it, here is a poem you can use:

They call me Joanne,
I live in Florida,
In the summer
It’s sunny and torrid, uh,

I’m not much for poems,
My state won’t rhyme,
But I’m on the DIS,
Just passing the time.

Speaking of time,
It keeps ticking away;
I’m dreaming of October
And Castaway Cay.

O.K., it is a little lame and the "uh" is in the wrong spot, but it works. :rotfl:

Being an accountant, couldn't do a poem so eloquent like you...:thumbsup2

Did have 12 hours of English in college for electives...Go fiqure.:goodvibes

BTW, taxes done and accepted by Uncle Sam within two hours...Turbo Tax is fantastic coupled with downloads from Fidelity makes taxes easy...:confused3

Thanks. I don't think I had 12 credits of English though. I can only remember one class, maybe two, so a total of 6 credits. Here in WI when I went to college it was only 120 credits to graduate (4 years) and we only had 6 credits of Science, Social Science, English and then only 3 of Arts. With 28 "core" credits (compared to no more than 10-12 for all other majors at best), there was no time for those other classes (which had 12 credits for the three and 6 credits for Arts). Now they have moved the CPA requirement to 150 credit hours (5 years) and have them taking a full load of ALL classes - to be "well rounded".

As for taxes, I'm filing this weekend. We have a large refund coming. I never seem to get mine done early, even though I keep much better records than my clients. I did do my brother's over the Federal E-File (not the same as the Federal Free-File) and got his response rather quickly too. The Fed must have step up their game this year. Did the same with the State of WI for him and that acceptance was immediate. Gotta like technology. :thumbsup2

Cruise related stuff!! (Imagine that).:yay:
OK, so it’s pretty boring here at work today and I’ve been making a few lists. How about if we all chip in with ideas for packing a bag for Castaway Cay/Excursions??

I’ll start:

Beach bag
Towels
Sunscreen
Ziploc bags for wet swim suits
Swim Suits
Swim Suit cover up
Water Shoes
Hat/Cap
Sunglasses
Snorkel equipment
Book/Magazine
Pen & Paper
Camera/Camcorder
Leave in Conditioner
Tylenol/Water Bottle
Wet Wipes
Deoderant/Anti Perspirant
Under garments
Baby Powder...amazing stuff to get sand off your feet!

I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot, so please copy and paste this post and add on!!! Parents of little one’s, don’t forget to add their stuff.

I got some exciting news last night, I am a great-aunt again :cool1: My niece and her husband have been on the "waiting list" to adopt a baby for almost 3 years now (they have a 7 year old daughter and then they were not able to have another baby after having her). They found out a few months ago that someone had chosen them to be the parents of a baby due the end of March! Of course this happened just after my nieces husband was downsized out of his job so they had a "few extra hoops they've needed to jump through" in order to be allowed to proceed but they got everything worked out :goodvibes My sister called last night and said the baby boy was born yesterday afternoon at 2:45, he was 8#,8oz and those are the only details she had so far, my niece and her husband and their daughter were driving from their home near Chicago to the adoption agency in Indianappolis to pick up the baby. (It was a home delivery with a mid-wife so because the baby wasn't born in a hospital the adoption agency picked him up and they pick the baby up there.) We are waiting to hear about eye and hair color and what name they decide on. My niece has 2 names picked out but wanted to see the baby before she decides on which one, I hope my sister calls me from work when she gets more news. The birth mother has 24 hours to relinquish her rights so we are still hoping and praying she doesn't change her mind about this.

:thumbsup2 great job on the poem Jeff! I have a ways to go before my next milestone, maybe when I get there you could write mine. I love to read but I never liked writing poems or stories in English classes.

How about $$ for stamps at post office.

Baby Powder...never tried that. You learn something new every day. You can also get those travel size powder bottles which makes it easier to carry.

Well, it's 5.30pm and I'm waiting for Rick to get home. I've done so much today and I think I'm almost ready for tomorrow.

Thanks. The poem is for Joanne. She's 4 post from her milestone.

I actually use to write Suz a poem every year for our anniversary as well as one for our wedding. Wrote one to get engaged too.

I've stopped now. :rolleyes1
