Yep, if we didn't give the raise concession, a few people would have been given a pink slip.

That's why my son's company did too.Which I am glad since he is lowman on the totem pole there.

Hazel just called me back letting me know I can pick up my new laptop after 6pm today!!! :)
Woohoo for you! When I ordered my new laptop from Dell, I had to wait 10 days. I was in agony! It's kind of like the agony I am in now since Elaine and I are "sharing" our computer while the work laptop is being repaired and upgraded.

Good morning EVERYONE! !!!!! :wave2:

Lori, Happy Anniversary! Loved the pics from your date night :goodvibes You have the cutest kids, they look so good all dressed up

Nancy G, hmmm favourite activity would have to be watching the adult cabaret type shows....and sitting in that hot tub at night :rolleyes1 :woohoo:

Andy, good news about your laptop :thumbsup2

Time to get some lunch....:wave2:

Wow, I just finished my breakfast :rotfl2:

Time for a walk and a slimfast!!!

Great job Joanne :goodvibes Wish I could go for a walk with you! It's -30ºC today :cold:

I can't even utter than name anymore :rolleyes1

My week is just getting better day by day. :rolleyes1

Hazel just called from Best Buy, the motherboard on my laptop is "fried" :sad2: but she and Lina have picked out a new laptop for me, :upsidedow and the files from my old laptop are going to be transferred to my new laptop. :thumbsup2 I will lose the Print Shop program I had in the old laptop, so the wedding invitations couldn't be saved anyhow.

I also found out this morning that a vote was taken and the public works department has decided to give back our 3.5% raise that we got this year as a concession to the township's tax troubles. This is scheduled to take effect the first pay period in April. :sad2:

Life is good.........

At least you'll have the new computer for the trip, right? BTW, didn't you buy Lina a laptop last year? Couldn't you take hers as well?

As for the invitations, why not have them pull the files off the hard drive. If you know of anyone else that has the version you were working on, they'd be able to upload them and print them. Just a thought.

Question of the Day

What's your favorite activity for a sea day? 1st Timers: Which activity are you thinking about?

My answer: Rainforest.:thumbsup2

Nancy (or anyone, really....)

Your post reminded me I was going to look into this further, but I can't seem to find it mentioned on the DCL site anywhere. Can you fill me in or point me in the right direction? Thanks.

-Andy- I have Print Shop 10 if you can still get the file, and if that's similar to what you have.

That's why I just go right to the store. I want it now. :rotfl:

Best Buy is running some really good sales lately. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, you can keep it under $500 and in some cases down at $400 (and that is with a Pentium Dual-Core, not a Celeron).

My old laptop seems to be working well, so I'm not ready to jump at a new one, but I was looking since before Xmas and actually bought one. It had Windows 64-bit, and I was finding it would be a problem with some software, so I returned it.

I've been looking every week though. I may just get the bug to buy one at these prices.

Hi Jeff--Lina said she doesn't want to take her laptop, she is afraid something might happen to it, but most likely my new laptop will be making the trip. :)

The tech at Best Buy said the programs I had in the laptop can't be saved. Since the invitations were in the Print Shop program, I am guessing they are lost as well. That's what happened when one of my old desktop computers died and the programs couldn't be saved on that computer either.

That's the same program I have Jen. But from what I take of this, the invitations I designed are still in the Print Shop program I had on my old laptop, and programs can't be saved. I'm far from a computer expert, I'm just going by what has happened to me in the past.

Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised and it'll all be loaded onto your new one. Fingers crossed for that..:)

The files themself should be outside the program. They should be able to get those. That is why all my stuff is put into a folder called "data". This way, I can get all of my files when I back up. No need to locate them. Check with them. I'm sure they could get you the file at least.

As for Lina, so she won't take her 1 year old computer that you bought her because something might happen to it, but is fine with you taking your brand new computer. Kids.
