DH here, Carrie mentioned that she poped on to say hi to everyone so I thought I would pop on also. Miss you all and hope you are all doing well.

Hiya:goodvibes

I am so keyed up today about this cruise. I booked the REAS package for Rob and me. We have never been away from our kids for a vacation, so I am treating this as a second honeymoon--our first honeymoon was cut short, too. So all the more reason for romance, right?:thumbsup2

How lovely and romantic for you:lovestruc

Those that went on the Pirate cruise on GC seemed to have a great time. I might be pursuaded to do that but afterward back on the boat!

I highly recomend the pirate cruise;) - me likey pirates:rotfl:

Question of the Day:

What is your favorite port? New Cruisers: Which port are you most looking forward to?

My answer: Grand Cayman!!

Gran Cayman for me, then castaway, although I'm looking forward to those lovely Eastern beaches too!

Well, my little job at school has got got a bit bigger!
I am officially only meant to be there on Tuesday, (although I've only had 1 day off in 4 weeks so far:rotfl: ), but one of the ladies is leaving, so now I'm in for 5 days a week, same class! - and its my favourite class too!

A little more spends for the cruise:thumbsup2 :dance3:

I'm due back in school in 20 minutes! - volunteer work this time though. It was hardly worht me coming home:rotfl:

I wonder how Ellis will get on today - he goes swimming with the school for hte first time today. I hope he comes out dressed:rotfl: ... he's slow at getting ready.. I have warned him that he'll be made to get back on the coach on time, no matter what he's got on if he doesnt get a move on! ... I can just imagine him getting on the coach with nothing on but 1 sock:lmao:

Bye folks, back to school I go. All the walking must be doing me good:thumbsup2 I will have made the trip there and back 4 times today:rolleyes:

Hi All....

Just wanted to pop in and say "Hi" this morning.

Yesterday was just a bad day from the moment I woke up until I went to bed. Won't go into details, but today is a new day, with a new start. :)

Without my laptop, I probably won't be online as much, at least not until it is fixed (if that is possible) or I get a new one. Hazel and I are now sharing the desktop in the livingroom for now.

Have a good day all..........:wave2:

Glad you're back Andy. I'm not sure what all you do with your laptop. Most of my computing and gaming is done with my desktop and my laptop is mostly internet access from convienent places. And up until recently it was too heavy and bulky even for that. But I just bought a new "netbook" that I have fallen in love with. Cheap, powerful (enough for what I need it for), lightweight with long battery life. You should look into one if your laptop is dead and it's not your primary computer.

Favorite port is Castaway Cay without a doubt!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Lina went to the massge therapy school meeting last night and got signed up for the next class that will be starting. The only problem I see at this moment, and I'm holding my breath on this one, her graduation could possibly take place the last week of "October 2009"........

That sounds like my luck!

I highly recomend the pirate cruise;) - me likey pirates:rotfl:

I thought of you when I typed that.

Woohoo!   I was looking at flights and decided to check the school calendar for the Fall. It turns out that Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday November 3rd are Teacher In Service Work Days. NO SCHOOL!!! :woohoo:

Our after cruise WDW trip just went from one day to three!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Matthew

FAVORITE PORT - Castaway Cay (Of course, I've only been there and Nassau so it wasn't much of a contest.)

Congrats there Matthew, that was a nice surprise I'm sure!!! :thumbsup2

I use my laptop for just about everything. In fact, I had just finished helping a friend design her wedding invitations on Saturday night. Spent three weeks doing this project, she gave me the go ahead to start printing them off yesterday morning, that was about 10 minutes before the laptop died. I can't even get the thing to turn on now. I had to call my friend and tell her the sad news yesterday that the invitations are lost. Good thing her wedding isn't until May 16th.

Wow I am gone a couple of days and you moved. Whaaaa(evil laugh), try as you might you can not hide from me. :surfweb:

Hazel left here at 10am to take our car to the State Inspection Station, she just called (11:50am) and said there are still 10 cars in front of her waiting to be inspected. Hazel was told the inspection station is short handed today. :rolleyes1

At least it is a nice day (mid 50's) here today!!! :)

OK, just had a hot bowl of oatmeal, now it's time to get back on the road. I have a ton of curb meters to read today that I couldn't get done last week because of all the sn*w we had.

Glad every thing is ok, we were worried.

Andy,
I'm not sure what happened to the laptop, but I'm guessing that it is either a Motherboard problem (Bad) or a power supply problem (not so bad) Either way your Hard Drive should be intact. Meaning that the Invitations are still there just inaccessible. If you have a Hard Drive problem (meaning all is lost) then it would at least attempt to boot up and then fail. Since you are not powering up then all is not lost. If you know someone with the same laptop, you could do a brain transplant. (move the HD from your machine to theirs and then boot to your HD and move all your important files to an external HD) If not, then when you get a new laptop, remove the HD from the dead laptop then place it in an external enclosure with a USB plug and plug it into the new laptop as a secondary HD then move your files. Have the battery and powersupply checked out first to make sure that it is not your problem as it is an easy fix. Motherboard is a different story altogether and the laptop is too expensive to fix.

Wow, that makes it sound more encouraging. Will have to check that out after we get back from vacation. Thanks for the tip Steve!!! :thumbsup2

After work today I have an appt to get the yearly x-rays done on my knees. I see my surgeon right after we get back from vacation and I have to get these x-rays done before we leave. Always something, isn't it?

Let me know if you need any help or advice. I'm happy to share what limited knowledge I have.

Good Luck with the Surgeon!

Well, I've caught up on this thread, but it looks like I missed over 60 pages on the last one. WOW! I'm always missing the post frenzies!

Last weekend we went to the Kalahari resort in WI Dells - it's a big waterpark resort. We went with Pete's parents, Pete's sister, brother-in-law, and their 2 kids. The boys had a blast!

I, however, had a very emotional and stressful weekend...Pete and I went to do a waterslide and left one of the family to watch Thomas - when we came back he and cousin Andrew were MISSING! They were found in very short order, but needless to say, Pete or I was with him the rest of the weekend.

I was also yelled at by SIL - I don't even want to go into the whole story but I am now more worried than ever that they are travelling with us. I have been looking forward to this cruise since the minute we stepped off the last one!

   and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to whomever needs them while I catch up on the threads!

Mine's simple:

Key West - Stay on ship unless we need something from the store for the room (although I'm sure Suz will want Key Lime pie).

Grand Cayman - cab up to Public Beach on Seven Mile Beach (I think Karen will agree and come along on that one :thumbsup2 )

Cozumel - if it is not windier than heck like last time, probably Chakanaab (sp?)

We will NOT do any DCL excursions if it is a Western.

I am not a fan of Key West. Although, on my cruise in May we are going there. There is a ghost walk I am interested in doing. I love me a good ghost story.:thumbsup2
