Well, I escaped the axe today....they laid off 50 people at my company. I was not one of them, however, there is talk of more layoffs to come as they do some "restructuring".

Sigh....it's hard not to worry all the time....

We saw Kira's family doctor today and he is ordering allergy tests for her Not sure how long we will have to wait but it is being arranged

She's been fine ever since

Great news. Did he say what type of testing - blood tests or skin prick? I have a great book on allergies I got off Amazon. I'll try to dig it out and tell you the title.

That's good news for now at least Jen I too am having a hard time not worrying about Al's job and how much longer he may have it. He is off the rest of the week. Hopefully the next house they will be working on will be ready on Mon.

Dust stuf for Al... its everywhere you turn isnt it... I know so many people who are either clinging to their jobs or now unemployed ... where on earth is it going to end?

Howdy All.......

Just wanted to let you know I am feeling quite a bit better this morning. My fever got up to 102* last evening, but finally did break overnight. I went to bed as soon as I got home from work, and stayed there until 5am this morning.

Today is "My Friday" as I have a nice four day weekend coming up!!!

If only we could get them to breathe all over them yesterday or today - that might give it enough time. No, seriously - the school has been in existence for 11 years now. In all those years, they have not had a true competition team but the spirit cheerleaders have participated in the competition at state - I was told they had never placed. I am not sure if that is correct, but I have not seen a trophy anywhere. My goals all year have been their safety, a demonstration from them of knowledge of Whom the do this for, improvement, and a desire to keep cheering (that has been expressed to me as a need). If we go down there and do our best, I'll be fine with it - they have improved so much, demonstrated pure hearts, and all of them beg to keep working on things and have made arrangements to keep tumbling before tryouts and afterward.

Glad to hear Andy is feeling better.

So Cass, thats an interesting picture. I have read on the net that some of the more "geeky" Star Wars fans love those 10 minutes or so of Return of the Jedi when Leia, wore that outfit. I have shown DS not this picture obviously, but the one of Rob in his Clone Trooper uniform. Wasn't he selling cookies or something? He thinks its so cool.

So on my way to work this morning I stopped at the grocery store. This sweet little lady ran up to me and asked if I watch American Idol. When I told her yes, she told me she was Danny Goeke's grandma!! Danny, who is from Milwaukee, made it into the final 36 last night and he's the guy that lost his wife 1 month before try-outs. He competed with his best friend Jamar, also from Milwaukee (don't know his last name) who did not make it through to the final 36.

That sweet little thing was sooooo excited and was telling anyone who would listen.

On our last trip to WDW we had chosen this breakfast, and believe it or not we got it free!

There was a power failure at the Askershus Restaurant, so we were directed to Electric Umbrella and told to order whatever we wanted that it was complimentary. When we were done eating, we were told to walk to Askershus where the Princesses would greet us. They had a walkway roped off and we were able to greet each princess individually. It was a nice private meet and greet and free to boot!

Nice! The Princessess have been great this trip. They really shine with the kids!

one year, robin, cassie and i rode it 11 times straight. it wasnt crowded so they just let us stay on. robin and cassie kept getting soaked, but i somehow managed to stay mostly dry. robin even made me change seats a few times, but we still spun and they got soaked and i didnt.
she kept saying "we're riding this thing till you get wet!!!!"

I haven't done that since I was a kid. We went on the water rapids ride at Magic Mountain at least that many times. Loved every minute of it.

As much as I hate flying, I have to agree not having to pay for it was some solace!

They are hurting I believe. They extended the "7 for 4" offer now through Aug 15. I bet the "free dining" comes in after that.

I suspect huge discounts on rooms for October.

I also think that there will be a lot of upgrades for this group. If they can't fill the ship in Winter, they sure aint going to fill it in October. I bet most of the inside cabins will get windows and the windows get a balcony. Us in the SPH rooms won't get anything.

These are tough times.

Here at WDW they are offering 40% off next stay if booked before checkout. I'm thinking of changing from the Raddisson in October to Wilderness lodge for my pre-cruise stay.
