Happy Birthday Logan from your friends in San Antonio Texas. Walt and Di

Well, don't get an iPhone either Chris. Two of my kids have them and hate them. Constantly losing calls. They can't wait until their contracts are up in June.

My neighbor just got an iPhone and loves it. That's what convinced me to try for the BlackBerry Storm. I want the touch screen. I was just going to get a BlackBerry Curve until I played with her phone.

Pete was considering an iPhone until he talked to a couple of people around here who have one and they said the cell coverage isn't good at all. He got an iPod touch instead, and we both have Motorola phones. I like the quality of my Motorola much better than the 2 LG phones I had before it.

A lot of this has to do with the area you live in. The AT&T/Cingular coverage here is pretty good but I've not heard the same for other parts of the country. Also, the 2nd version uses the G3 network, which has been a big problem in parts of the country where this service isn't really widely available. I'm glad I held onto my old iPhone!

I've had an iPhone since the beginning and I can't imagine living without it! It's so much more than a phone - the technology is so much further along than anyone elses touch screens. And with all the apps you can add now, it's even better. I love the fact that the QWERTY keyboard only pops up when you need it. I have arthritis and I just can't handle the Crackberry keyboard on certain days.

But the bestest part is that it's software driven!!! So if you have a problem all you need to do is resync it, just like your iPod. Poof - everything is back where it should be - no more lost contacts or text messages!

Return to Hong Kong with Di to relive the moments when I was there during Christmas 1971 :goodvibes

Walt :cool1: :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm ready. My dream vacation would be to travel Europe. I would like to take Erika my youngest daughter to see Germany where she was born. Di

I hope that the memories of our family vacations, that our kids never tire of vacationing w/mom & dad. We have never vacationed w/out our kids.

Pete and I have done a couple of weekend trips without Thomas, but that's it. I couldn't leave him behind for a week. That's why I loved the cruise...he was there, he was having fun, but Mom and Dad got some time to themselves also. It was the perfect mesh of "adult getaway" and family vacation. But we've also done trips up to Door County as a family, and that was so much fun too.

I think the key is planning age-appropriate trips. Right now, we're doing Disney stuff, beach/lake/pool type trips. When he's a bit older, Pete wants to take us out to Washington DC, Virginia, and stuff like that. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to Thomas now, but once he's further along in school, seeing the Lincoln Memorial 9for example) will mean something.

We just got DirecTV and I absolutely love it. The reception is good, channel lineup is great. I will never go back to cable.

Sounds good to me. When I do shop, I know exactly what I am getting, I get it and get out.

That is the truth. He gets what he wants and needs then gets out. He likes to shop online too. I would rather go to the store. I am not much of a shopper but once in awhile I like to go. He is no shopper anymore. He used to be about 15 years ago. Di

I haven't yet got a BB. It isn't considered an official expense for work, but I want to get one so that I have access to the internet while sitting places like doctor's offices, outside a store while Elaine shops (couldn't resist that one!). I also like the calendar application on it. I think I will even be able to DIS mobily! I get reimbursed a portion of my cell phone charges for work. They pay for the basic service, and we are responsible for any add ons.

We have Verizon Wireless. When I moved to CT, I had AT&T formerly known as Cingular, but got rid of it and paid the early termination fees. The service was terrible. I was dropping calls like crazy and despite the ads, I did not have "more bars in more places!" We switched to Verizon Wireless because it seemed to be the bigger network in this area of the country. The service is good and I really can't complain.

Right now I am using a crappy LG Chocolate. I can't stand that phone and can't wait to get rid of it! Elaine had one too, but hers kept dying on her. On the 3rd time, she just got a new one. She has an LG ENV2. Its a decent phone and she has become a text queen on it.

We switched from Cingular/AT&T to Verizon Wireless and our Verizon service is horrible, many more dropped calls with Verizon than we ever had with Cingular/AT&T. The only reason we switched is because Lina had more friends with Verizon and the texting plan was better for her. Once our service plan ends in August, I think Hazel and I are going back to AT&T and Lina can stay with Verizon if she wants, she can get her own plan then.......

The new BlackBerry storm has a full touch screen with pop up QWERTY. The touch screen sold me after playing with my neighbor's iPhone. If I had AT&T, I would get an iPhone. The BB Storm will be good enough for me.

The opposite happened for us. I had a better plan with Cingular/AT&T, but I had to go outside of my house to make calls, and I was still having them dropped. We are very satisfied with Verizon in this area.

The place i was watching in Texas was Fort Worth not Fort William - thats is Scotland. Dumb me!!
Anyway it looked really nice but in the end they bought a tiny cottage in scotland instead. Must have been mad:thumbsup2

I looked up Fort Williams and Fort Worth did come up. That is close to where my daughter Erika lives. It is nice there. Diane

LOL!!! That's what we have to do with our Verizon Wireless service!!!

If you lucky. Di

Oh, c'mon Di - he deserves smoocher for that comment! :lovestruc

Both of my Dad's parents were born and raised in Germany and I've never been there

And you live in NJ, where AT&T coverage is much better in a lot of areas. I remember being on the beach in Lavallette a few years ago and none of the Verizon people could complete a call but my phone worked fine :thumbsup2 (I better shut up now since Verizon is one of our customers, but so is AT&T)

Much better! :thumbsup2 That stupid Crackberry keyboard takes up so much room and STILL has the little, tiny keys. Don't know much about the BB Storm. Can you sync the Storm with your computer, like the iPhone (you use iTunes, just like your iPod:thumbsup2 )?

Elijah and Kristen have Instinct. It is like Iphone except it is with Sprint. Diane

Evening

Caribbean Beach Resort. And I'm also thinking it was taken from the walkway at the end of Jamaica right before crossing the bridge to Trinidad???

You're right. Knew you'd get it.
