Nancy has a personality just like her eyes. Beautiful. She truly is a babe says Walt. Diane

I think Nancy did the sky lift

In St Thomas we did a city tour on the back of one of those covered pick-up trucks. We were heading over to the Sky Lift and got stopped by our guide. We really did enjoy it though. :cutie:

Don't forget though, if K&J don't have money, they will either not be going or you will be paying for their flights. ;)

It doesn't look good for Team Fun Pants right now.

How about Nancy's favorite picture from my collection of St. John:

Thanks Jeff!!:yay:

Bernie, Cheryl, Joanne and Jeff....

Thanks so much for the vacation pics. I love looking at all those! :woohoo:

(Joanne, how do you go to work every morning? I'd want to just sit my butt in a chair on the beach and just stare out towards the ocean all day).

Here are some of my pics of Meghan's in the afternoon. I zoomed on my computer and it didn't look too crowded. Not sure how a zoom here would work. Anyhow, you can at least see the bay and the beach.

Good morning all....

I am so far behind on this thread I may never catch up! Wow!

Busy day at work, so I'm just going to post a pic and then try to catch up tonight.

This is the cake I made for Thomas's b-day party with his friends - I am so proud of it!

Here's the laundry info...

locations.jpg

This is good info to have. Even though I'd rather not have to spend cruise time doing laundry it is an unfortunate fact of life, especially since we're so limited on how much luggage we can take. Do you remember if they're coin op or free?

I know it's a rough life, but some one has to do it...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This is why it's hard for us to vacation some where else.

And with beaches like that who needs to!

Hey everyone...We just got home from our Extreme Makeover Party. Elaine was in a few shots when the home was revealed. She was directly behind the family about 3 rows back.

Now I am watching the 60 minutes with the US Airways flight 1549 crew on the DVR. Talk to everyone later.

Chris, that was such a sad situation for that family but such a great ending! That house is amazing! My fear whenever I've watched that show is that the families will have a difficult time maintaining such a huge place. Hope that won't be the case here. BTW, that town is just a little south of where my father was born..........
Did you see the crew & passengers on either The Early Show or GMA this morning?

Here's a few more from our stay at SSR:

Ok, so I have been doing some research on Magen's Bay, since Jeff recommended it so highly...

Basically, people give it a great review or a horrible review. It looks gorgeous when it's not crowded...I like the fact that it has a lot of shade with the palm trees  even way down near the water...

magens-bay2.jpg

But when there's more than 3 ships in port, it looks crazy and people hate it...

magens-bay.jpg

Basically, from what I have been reading, it's nice in the morning and if you walk way down the beach where it's not so crowded but by noon, it gets a little crazy :scared:

It also costs $4 per person to get in plus the taxi cost. But they use that money to maintain the beach, so it is a nice beach.

I dunno...have to think about it some more :rolleyes1

Wow that beach is way too crowded for Walt and I. Di

After lots of digging, I think we will stick to Emerald Beach on St Thomas (also called Lindbergh Bay). :thumbsup2 It's a nice family-friendly beach, not crowded, great amenities, close to the dock and as a bonus for us, it's close to the airport, so you can watch planes land and take off all day :cool1:

Here's a little write-up about it...

Lindberg Bay, also known as Emerald Beach, is beautiful. Palm trees and sea grape trees line the shore and provide natural shade. Typically sparsely populated It is a great beach for laying back and relaxing. The water is usually very calm; perfect for swimming, wading or floating along. The shoreline provides for pleasant strolls. The beach is home to Emerald Beach Resort and Island Beachcomber Hotel. Both have neat open air beach front bars for enjoying the trade winds and a refreshing drink. Several restaurants are available for having a nice lunch or grabbing a quick snack. A water sports booth offers kayaks, snorkeling, diving, peddle boats & windsurfers among other fun activities. Families with young children will enjoy the small playground located just past the end of the beach. It is common to see iguanas in the hotel gardens and along the rocky coast close to the playground. Lingberg Bay is in close proximity to the airport and a short drive from downtown Charlotte Amalie.

That sounds like a great beach to visit. I will put it on our to do list. Di

The family has been given tens of thousands of dollars to help them by area organizations. I believe their mortgage is free and clear, and property taxes/insurance will be several thousand dollars annually. The good news is, for the price of what it would cost to rent a small 2BR apartment, they have a 3400 sq ft, 5 BR house.

As far as energy, it is pretty much the most "green" house in the state. It has solar cells and geo thermal heating and cooling. Since they live in such a small town, I am sure they have a well and septic as well.

Good morning all..

Jeff.. those pics... they make me :sad1: cause I wanna go now!!!..lol

ok I have to confess something I did this mornign that was sooooo stupid..lol

I jolted out of bed with a coughing fit and turned at the same time... needless to say I pulled a tummy muscle (didn't know I had any!) so moving is not much fun atm. I feel sooo out of shape and old right now :sad2:

so no heavy lifting and I couldn't work out this morning.. grr.. I will be fat forever I think.. sigh

ok self pity party over..lol

Hugs to those who need them!

I still have at least 10 more (or so) pages to read to be caught up here but wanted to respond before I forget what I wanted to say....

Thank you. It would make a great note card.

Double Ditto (unless someone already doubled it). :goodvibes

Awww thanks Mimi. But if you want to see stunning eyes, take a look at Di's or Rachel's (Cheryl's DD) eyes. HOLY COW!!!

Are you Schmoozing MiCkey?? :rotfl: (Thank you though your judgement is very clouded).

Now we get to find all of Cabo's little treasures that were burried under the snow though. YUCK! :scared1:

That thing is waaaay too bulky to bring along. I did see one on the lady sitting in front of me that was much nicer and it lit up! I don't know what she paid for her's though. :cutie:

That's exactly why I had to quote a few and respond. I do the same thing Mimi. :rotfl2:

I would eat the skin first if I could. Doesn't matter if it's crispy or not. :thumbsup2

OK...I'll read more later today. Both the bosses are gone!! Off to move it, move it....I got to move it, move it, so I can lose it, lose it! :cool1:

I read along and respond. Walt read from present to past and I read from past to present if that makes sense. Thanks Nancy for the comment about my eyes. Have a good day at work Everyone. Diane

OK, here is a pic of the ships in St. Thomas the first time we went. As you can see, they are larger than the Magic. But again, when we were on the beach, it wasn't that crowded - allbeit in the morning.

2005_0126_122713AA.jpg

Wow. What a great picture. The rest of the pictures are great too Jeff. Di

I think they are a dollar per load for each the washer and dryer and you will need quarters, there is a change machine in the rooms as well as a dispenser for soap and stuff ($) if you didn't bring your own.

Wow great job Jen on the Mickey cake. Maybe you can work for Disney. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Diane

Well, it's 9AM here and I have already worked out, showered, got all purty and eaten breakfast :thumbsup2 Just waiting for my little girl to wake up. She didn't sleep until about 10pm and then she woke up twice during the night, so she must be exhausted :scared:

That is always my fear too Dan. We just have to hope and pray the family will be okay. Di
