Yuck - I just heard about the 90 yr. old man and 79 yr. old wife who sailed on Carnival Paradise last Monday who were not on the ship when it returned to port. This report said their cabin door was double locked from the inside and the balcony door was unlocked. Their belongings were still inside and appeared untouched. Too freaky! They had a "Do not disturb" sign on the door - sounds like suicide - yuck.

omg that is awful.

Cass- that picture is adorable.

Kathy- congrats on # 2000. Keep chatting.

Have a great day all. I am off to H & R- maybe I can do some returns today and not just be a observer.

cruise related question.

we've never had a passport. would these passport cards be all we need for the BoB cruise? i see they are only $45 and good for 10 years.
any downside to getting one of these as opposed to a regular passport?
i highly doubt we'll be flying into or out of another country.
we usually just cruise. ocassionally drive to Canada(niagra falls)
thanks for any help.:grouphug:

My only concern would be, "if" you had to get off the ship for say a medcial emergency in another country, then had to fly home unexpectidly, wouldn't you need a passport then to get back in the country? Just playing Devil's Advocate here......:scratchin

OK, braved the cold and did my weekly weigh-in. I am down another 2 pounds this week, bringing me back to where I was just before Christmas!!! :thumbsup2

That is exactly the scenario I thought of, Andy - not likely to happen and let's hope it doesn't; but it would be better to be prepared. I think traveling with a passport is the safest measure.

Good morning all

Today is a nice quiet morning for me and soon everyone will be up asking for breakfast

Nothing big planned for the day other than Sean is going to go help Rob set up for the Bridal fair convention, wich should only take a couple of hours :thumbsup2 and then we might go out for a bit.. to where I am not sure ..lol :lmao: Cass.. what you up to today chickie?

SERENITY

Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked,
'How old was your husband?' '98,' she replied.
'Two years older than me'
'So you're 96,' the undertaker commented.
She responded, 'Hardly worth going home, is it?

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman:
'And what do you think is the best thing
about being 104?' the reporter asked.
She simply replied, 'No peer pressure.'

The nice thing about being senile is
you can hide your own Easter eggs.

I've sure gotten old!
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
new knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes.
I'm half blind,
can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
take 40 different medications that
make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank goodness,
I still have my Florida driver's license. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape,
so I got my doctor's permission to
join a fitness club and start exercising.
I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.
I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But,
by the time I got my leotards on,
the class was over.

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and
told her preacher she had two final requests.
First, she wanted to be cremated, and second,
she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart.
'Wal-Mart?' the preacher exclaimed.
'Why Wal-Mart?'
'Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week'

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Know how to prevent sagging?
Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.

It's scary when you start making the same noises
as your coffee maker.

These days about half the stuff
in my shopping cart says,
'For fast relief.'

THE SENILITY PRAYER :
Grant me the senility to forget the people
I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and
the eyesight to tell the difference.

Now, I think you're supposed to share this with 5 or 6, maybe 10 others. Oh phooey, give it to a bunch of your friends if you can remember who they are!

Always Remember This:
You don't stop laughing because you grow old,
You grow old because you stop laughing

Since Lina has the "Pink Party" to go to tonight for her friend Kara's mom, Hazel and I are going to use a Red Lobster gc we received for Christmas and go there for dinner, after which, we are heading to church for the Saturday night service.

Lina starts her "volunteer training" at our local Pet Smart tomorrow around noon. I think she is scheduled be there from 12-4.

thanks guys. i'd still rather get the card.(its cheaper):rolleyes2
i'm a "what are the odds" kind of guy.pirate:
but Robin wants to get the real passport for fear of my previous heart problems returning.
i figure if its "my time" then so be it. "it is what it is" .:rotfl2:
we'll probably get the real one since i already won one thing this decade.(no poochie)
unless theres others out there who can support me in my campain for the cheap passport card.:grouphug: (i'll buy the smoothies. even a blueberry one for a certain pancake girl):thumbsup2

That happened to my former WW leader....she and her husband were on a cruise - he needed emergency surgery and they were in Panama for 19 days.

They had passports (but not travel insurance)...

That just scared me too much - I'd rather have both.

We got passports for the KK cruise, so we're all set this time!

hi jen mouse
if you had just the passport card and trip insurance would you be ok?
course i'm the kind of guy who wouldnt even get trip insurance if my sweet polly wouldnt insist on it.:love2:
i mean..what are the odds??:rolleyes2 :rotfl2:
