Hi Heather,

Di is working at school today. She said it was the point value of the Dry Mix by itself.. :)

Di will confirm tonight. :thumbsup2

Oct is getting close, can't hardly wait..Need to begin planning..:confused3

Walt :cool1:

Thanks Walt..I did read on and got that. If you make your cakes as per the instructions, what do you have to include? I'm just trying to work out if your packet mixes are the same as ours?

Looks like this thread might close tonight. Is Chris or Jeff around to start #17.

FO BTW..Di and I have lost 2 pounds since Sunday..Back to our healthy habits to make Disney experience more enjoyable in Oct..

Can't wait

Walt

Way to go Walt and Di.........:thumbsup2

Di will have to answer since she does the Baking at the house versus doing the cooking. Not complaining, just flirting with Di...:lmao: :scared1:

I did a bit of Googling and came up with the answer. Thanks anyway Walt.

My fingers seem to be typing faster than my brain can work today..........:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Break time over, back to work for me...:wave2:

Ok how do you all figure out points for food you make. I have a taco soup in the crock right now and don't know how to figure it out.

1 lb ground turkey
1 can of Rotel (we keep it mild for DD)
1 lg can of chopped tomatoes
1 lg can of red (kidney) beans
2 cans of black beans(you can use pinto)
1 can corn (optional)
taco seasoning
packet of ranch dressing mix (didn't use it this time)

Brown up the turkey
Dump tomatoes and red beans, drain black beans and corn and dump them in.
sprinkle in taco seasoning and ranch dressing. You can either crock this or it takes about a 1/2 hour on the stove top.
I usually top it with reduced fat cheese and light sour cream

That is a weight watchers recipe. I use to make it. I need to get the ingredients and make it again. I think it was like 3 points for a cup but I will look for the recipe tonite to tell you for sure. Diane

For anyone that has done MNSSHP and stayed on property...

Do they have buses/monorail/etc. running back to the hotels after the party? How does that work? Is there any advantage to staying at a property closer to the Magic Kingdom (say, Poly) as opposed to further away (like one of the All-Star's?).

Thanks in advance for any insight...we only did the cruise last time - I haven't really ever done any WDW research (can you believe it!!!:scared1: )

Yes the buses are running probably until midnite. Probably a quicker ride and less crowded to Poly. We have gone back to the All Stars at nite and it has been just fine. Also, a big difference in money. Diane

Count the points of the Beans (fiber lower point values), corn, and Meat. Everything else is no points or insignicant in my mind. :surfweb:

Similiar recipe used in the past and I counted it as 1 pt per cup. :)

Di has some no point soups that are fantastic. Also, Progresso soup zero points per serving, Can is 2 servings for one point per can. :)

Disney has wonder soups...:goodvibes

Walter :cool1:

I am bad. I better go check the points for that soup. Walt is right about the point values to worry about in the soup. Yes the Progresso soups are great. Diane

Thanks, Jen!

I'm staying for MNSSHP but Frank has to go home he has to work on Sunday!

I'm flying them on the 24th, so I hope they are good.

I am really starting to love the trip planning part. I had so much fun writing the pre trip report for our trip at the end of the month. Keeps you going on those dreary days at work.

Woo Hoo :woohoo: I love Mickey waffles! Can't wait for 'Ohana!

You bet! We can balance waffles just as well as pancakes. We are very talented ladies!

Wow, Walt, good for you!!! :cheer2:

Boy oh boy, that sounds yummy!

We're doing La Nouba on 1/28. I'll let you know how we liked it

Nancy that cake does sound excellent. I love orange. I might have to make it soon. Di

What's the usual point value per cake?

I think it is 3 points for a 3 inch square cake. I guess Walt was right about the point value for the taco soup. Not the first time.
Nancy said the same amount. Diane

party: party:Just a quick post to wish Jeff& Chucka very :bday: party: party:

Hi Paige,

Di and I thought about you and Rob this weekend..We went to Baton Rouge and was going to take a picture in front of LSU, but my mom wanted to go home since she got wet at the Zoo...:grouphug:

Enjoyed the trip to LA...Gained 5 pounds but recovered two by today :scared1:
