We recorded the parade and watched it last night. I was frustrated with how much the cameras jumped around - they didn't stay on anything long enough to get a good look. The Lion King was featured. We fast forwarded through most of the acts. Does anyone know if they only do that parade once or does it happen throughout the season?

Dan, I have to agree with you - the camera work left a lot ot be desired. Mary could probably tell you better than I, but I believe they used to invite DVCers to the parade filming on a priority basis. I know we got a notice about it last year. This year apparently they were trying to have more people in the park that were just general guests. I am not sure, but I think it was filmed December 6 this year. I read somewhere that it is truly a filming process and guests may see the same thing many times over as they strive to get it right. Based on what we saw, Mack and I do not think the park is fully decorated when they film - at least we are positive some things are not up. There are swags going across Main Street from the Emporium down to the corner where the soda shop is - these were not in the taped parade, but when we saw the huge nutcracker, we knew why. Also it appeared the singing acts were taped at a time different from Regis and Kelly's work because they appeared to be located in the same place. There is a huge Christmas tree in the main circle in front of the railroad station - we don't think this tree could have been there based on the sets they had for the musical acts and maybe not even for Regis and Kelly. I would love to be there for the taping one year just to see the process. To my knowledge, they only do this special filming parade on that one day - I say that because of all the things which were too tall to make it under the swags. Anyway, maybe Mary will chime in if she checks over here.

Andy - Got to hate it for you about Hazel's clothing. I had received na e-mail at work about places of which I should be cautious when purchasing this year because of closings and such. Steve and Barry's was on the list. At least they can be altered! Sometimes that is not even a possibility, but at least Hazel will get to enjoy Lina's present!

I can't win Mimi with 2 teachers you and Nancy. Im always asking here about spelling:rotfl::rotfl:.

Mack says, "Hi Dan!"
As for spelling - I have spaso fingers that miss the keys all the time. But our brains are designed such that if a word begins with the correct letter and ends with the correct letter and has most of the others in order, we can read it. As an English teacher, I battle text or IM speak more than anything now. In fact, I have to remind my students to put on their formal hats when writing a paper - they aren't IMing with the best bud. :lmao:

You're right - and one can pretty much figure out a word with all the vowels missing!

Looks like we're the only ones with anything to say tonight!

Dan's watching Pirates Dead Man's Chest on SciFi channel. I find it tooooo noisy.

I love just hanging out at home, but I am getting cabin fever. I'll have to get out tomorrow if just to take a nice walk.

Happy St. Stephen's Day! Glad to hear that everyone had a great holiday with their family and friends!

Well, I'm heading back to the Garden State tomorrow afternoon after a wonderful Christmas and nearly an entire week in Florida with the parental units. Frank just got here last night and he is heading back tomorrow as well. I just can't get used to this warm weather for Christmas, but it means a lot to my parents for us to come down here instead of making them come north. The weather has been pretty nice, even down right hot a couple of days. Not looking forward to heading back to the cold weather, but someone has got to pay for the vacations. And my cats expect me to support them in the style the are accustomed to.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick and painless travel day tomorrow. Have a nice weekend everybody!

Here's to a good, safe, uneventful trip back - unless the event is some celebrity you'd like to meet or some handsome man sitting next to you. Yes, you must get back and cater to the cats, Kathy - they have missed their lifestyle while you've been gone. Hugs to you and Frank! Tell Mom and Dad hi too.

Thanks, Mimi! Hugs to you and Mack too!

Of course, the kitties have a giant catnip mouse buddy hidden in my suitcase, courtesy of Grandma. So, hopefully, they won't stay mad too long! :lmao:

As luck would have it, Lina bought Hazel's jeans and tops at Steve & Barry which is going out of business. So, they would not refund or exchange the items Hazel had. Since they wouldn't do that, Hazel took the clothes to the cleaners and is having someone there fix the clothes. Lina paid $24.00 for the four clothing items, it is costing me $58.00  to have the clothes fixed so Hazel can wear them.......:sad2:

What a deal!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Di
