well thats an easy one. our first cruise in 2001 we thought it would be romantic to go to Palo. once we got in there i looked at the menu and knew i was in trouble. nothing for a picky mikey to eat.
being to shy to ask for any alternates i order the lamb.(never had it before. i'm never one to try new foods) needless to say, to this day, i can still taste that poor little lammy. the waiter felt really bad because i wasnt eating and finally asked me if i wanted something else. a steak perhaps? so i said YES!!! steak and fries(separate plates TOO!!)
anyway, to this day we laugh about it. never been back to palo's.
it was ok but just not our kind of place. i guess too fancy for this simple boy.


as for looking forward to...
my crazy wife says she cant wait to get a mango on castaway cay. and a strawberry smoothie of course.
i told her they sell mangos here, but she says they taste better on the island.

I'm with ya on Palo Mike. I really had no desire to go back there anymore. But I thought I'd give it one more try only because next year I've got myself a handsome date with Chuck's approval! (He's just happy that he doesn't have to go).
It'll be for brunch only. You won't be able to drag me to dinner.

i got to thinking karen. if we can get nancy to photoshop those 2 dudes out of there, we could use this pic of you in the Girls of the KK2 calendar.

Well I just got back from vacation and don't intend to read 55 pages of posts that I missed!

Well I just got back from vacation and don't intend to read 55 pages of posts that I missed!

Just been checking on flights etc for next Oct....I'm panicking...

We can get a flight out of MCO at 20.40...

(Our preferred flight usually leaves at 18.00)

What the heck could we do for all those hours? We'll have been up early getting off the ship, would you wait for the earlier flight (Virgin Atlantic release them in December) or book this late one?

I've been on the Dibb (uk version of Dis) and loads of people are after the same flights - UK school half term - hence the Virgin Holidays allocation is already gone. Virgin Atlantic release more seats at 336 days til the flight. If we dont get the ones we need we'll be truely stuck. Ellis' school and the cruise dates means we have to fly those particular dates. All other operators either give you pathetic luggage allowance - ie 15kg each - Virgin give you 64kg each - or they are even more expensive.

We were hoping to get flight only as otherwise if we book a package we'll end up paying for a hotel room which will sit empty for the whole cruise time.

Good morning,

Another close race, we were screaming at the TV.

I am busliy baking cookies for DS # 2. My neighbor and BF is taking her DS #1 to college to day at UF in Gainsville and is going to stop in Tallahssee and have lunch with him. So he will get a goodie box from Mom.

The sun is finally out so after some mowing pool time for me.

Happy Sunday all.

I have never had a choc croissant, will have to give it a try.

My favorite foods are all the desserts and the shrimp!!

Karen, you could always take a "Day-Room" at the Hyatt airport after the cruise. That way you could use the pool and shop for all those forgotten souvies right there at the airport. When we cruised in 05 we had the Hyatt booked for the night after the cruise. But since Hurricane Wilma was threatening us we asked about checking in early on that Saturday and they offered us a Day room. I had to explain that we already had a ressie for the night and they just let us check in early for no extra cost. LOVE the Hyatt!!

Just had my best workout to date, I said good-bye to 950 calories this morning, and felt so much better than I did yesterday morning!!!

Our flight on our last cruise left about that time from MCO. We decided to spend the day at Sea World. I hadn't been there for 25+ years, and we were able to get a pretty good discount. We got off the ship around 8:30 and were at Sea World around 9:30. I think we stayed until 5-5:30. At the time, I figured I gave the mouse enough money that I could share some love with Anheiser Busch.

I am watching airfares as well. My dad has put me in charge of securing our flight arrangements and ground transportation. I typically check the airline websites daily. Last cruise I did this and it paid off as we were able to fly cheaper than it would have cost to drive.

Hey kids! I wanted to let you know that I spoke with Jeff yesterday and then later with AFEG ... sounds like they are having a great time and they're planning on getting to the port bright and early this morning. Jeff said the Magic should be leaving around 4:30PM Pacific time (so that should be about 6:30 CST and 7:30 EST).

Hope everyone has a great week - Jason's work anniversary trip to Boca Raton is this coming weekend so we leave for Florida on Friday morning and will be back home late next Sunday evening. I sure hope for our sake, and the sake of everyone else in FL, that tropical storm / hurricane Fay is long gone by then.

I have just spoken to the family and they are all getting ready to set of to the Magic (I am soooooooo jealous!!!!) with Jeff & co.

I so wish i was there, unfortunately the only thing I have to console myself with is a roast chicken dinner, and it will be a good one, particularly with treacle tart for dessert, but its hardly 15 nights on the MAGIC!!!!!!

Thanks for the update!!!

I'm really feeling bummed out today knowing we had booked this cruise when it first opened, but then had to cancel out on it last summer, what a drag.

Well, at least I have our 10/24/09 B.O.B. Cruise to look forward too!!!
