10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat Cruise (I'm with BOB) Chapter #9

I'm a little nervous about my weigh-in tomorrow morning. Hazel, has been going over the top a little this week, with our dinners. If I feel up to it, I might go back to Riverwinds after dinner today(BBQ spare ribs and homemade mashed potatoes).

My lunch today is actually my review with my boss. He's taking me out. Hope that's a good sign.

Always nice to be very busy when it comes time for your review. Makes it look like you're overworked and not on the DIS like the other 11 months of the year.

Hoping for a decent increase and bonus. I think I will get both.

I remember 4 years ago when I lost a lot of weight, I'd come home from work, eat a little with Suz and DS, and then head down to the treadmill for a 3 mile run each day.

My body was just wanting to workout all the time and I wasn't having any urges to eat.

Lost 45 pounds that time. Wonder if I could do it again before the BOB? Last time it only took me about 3 months or so.

Well my Disney card cycled for the last time before the cruise. I now have $260 in rewards to add to the balance of $233 already on the card. Suz Disney card has $196 to be moved out on to her reward card. That is a total of $689 for this cruise.

Add that to the $200 DCL gave us for rebooking while onboard and the $400 that Dreams gave us for moving the ressie to them, and we will have $1,289 of free money.

Gotta love when you can work the deals.

I haven't had time to even think about the cruise yet. I'm starting to get in that mode now, but still have schedules to do for my Auditors. They will be here through Tuesday, so I will be on the go up until we leave. I'm hoping to take Wednesday off next week, but think I may have to do a 1/2 day.

We have a few things on the bed in the guest room (no clothes yet and there's still half a suit case of stuff on that bed ). We won't start packing until probably Saturday night or Sunday.

Suz biggest problem is shoes. Always takes a lot. I think I do too (dress brown for normal dinners, dress black for my tux, crocs, and I'll wear my tennis shoes).

We have a pile of stuff in the front room. I think deciding what shoes not to take is what is going to be the hard decision for me. Definately bringing the micky flip flops with the mickey head cut out on the strap so I can have a mickey head tanned on my foot.

WOW!!! Congrats!!!

We have $176 on our Disney Rewards account as of yesterday. I'm waiting for it to get around $250, then I'll put that towards the balance of the BOB cruise. We have quite a bit of $$ in our stateroom credits already!!!

The assessors left yesterday and the dept. passed with a 98.5%. They got a higher score than last time they had to do this. Sean's Capt. gave the crew today and tomorrow off. So he's getting everything ready at home for his parents arrival, while I will be packing this weekend.

Hope you pick us. This feels like the dating game - "Cruise Meet #1, if I were to choose you, what kind of fun could you provide me?"

I'm sailing with AFEG next week. I'll let you know if he's that great. Actually he was with us on the KK cruise (btw, if you hadn't picked up on it, this is a second go around for about half the people here. We had such a great time in Oct '07 and made great friendships, we decided to do it again. Picked up a lot of great new cruisers to our group along the way. Check out post #1 for a roster ).

So, if you wouldn't mind, how do you go about selecting which group(s) you want to cruise with? Never planned a cruise that way, just picked a date that works for me and then joined the group that was there. Although I have to say, the DIS groups for my cruises run "hot-cold". Every other one is a great group and the ones in between I don't connect with. Weird.

I figure if i am toally ignored on a thread it wont be that date....

My crocs are the Disney ones and have the Mickey cut out on the top.

I have Suz pack one night and then the next tell her to look at it again and it usually results in 1/4-1/3 less in the suitcases.

Well we won't ignore you (or anyone for that matter) on this thread.

We move along really quick here (usually - this last couple of days have been slow). We have about 38,000-39,000 total posts right now between all 9 threads, and we've only been at it about 8 months. Last cruise thread went about 40,000-41,000.

If you like a talkative bunch, we're it. Plus, we're probably the friendliest if do say so myself.

I am thinking of joinging this cruise.

I was not going to do a cruise until 2010 but i just cant wait so Dh said go ahead and book one........

I would like to have a year to plan as i work alot!
And the last one we took in June was spur of the moment and i missed out on alot.

So weird as it is before i go to the Cruiseline website.

I came to the CRUISE MEET thread to see which cruise i wanted to take. Yes i have issue!......LIME GREEN ISSUES

So later today i will be going to the web page to see what cabins are available on 3 different cruises that i pick from the meet and greet section!

I think i sailed with FAT ENGLISH GENT and Hockeychic previously.

Well, we have finally settled on a cruise date, and the 10/24/09 BOB cruise is the one.

We had been considering the 10/10, but decided on this date just last evening.

After reading the cruise meet thread, it looks like it could be a LOT of fun! Looking forward to getting to know you folks as we overplan over the next 14 months!

Thanks for the quick welcome Nancy. I have had a few short conversations with Andy over the years. Our travelling party consists of me Chris, DW Elaine, DS James (Jay) age 7 on cruise, and DD Samantha age 9 on cruise. We will be cruising with my parents, and my sister. Our total party will have 7. This will be my family's 2nd Disney Cruise. This will be my parents and sister's 3rd Disney Cruise. We have both cruised with other lines, but there is just something about DCL that makes it worth the extra money.
