Well, we decided on going to Chilli's. Elaine and I each got an entree then split them since we both wanted a little bit of each. We got a BBQ Bacon Burger and the new Chilli Dipped Chicken Tenders. They were absolutely wonderful! I preferred the chicken over the very good burger, but I really LIKED the chicken.

Now we are home watching Incredible Hulk together. I am not really into it, so I will DIS during the movie.

Christian: you just have to figure out if you would spend more or less than the annual dues for 1-2 years for each trip. Then consider the accomodations you will be in when you go. Plus, the convienence of being able to have a portion of your meals "at home". Also add in that you can use the points at many other places. If the 2 costs seem equal to you, then you should be a member.

Tikimimi: Matthew and I bought DVC in 1993 (I think). We started with 191 points (the minimum at the time) and have added over double that since then. Our home base is the original: Old Key West....which is still my favorite.
Elaine and I were discussing it at dinner tonight. I explained to her how other timeshares worked, and how DVC is different. I explained the points system in that you are not locked in for a specific week or a specific villa. I mentioned how we can "splurge" and enjoy a superior accomodation for a week, or stay in a studio for a quick few day getaway.

We have been kicking around the idea of buying a travel trailer since we got married and never did. When I look at the price of resales and compare to the cost of a travel trailer, the maintenance fees vs. insurance, upkeep, and incidental expenses of trailer ownership, the DVC seems like a great deal! I would have to use my full size van as a tow vehicle so getting places would cost more as well.

She and I said if we do this, it will probably be in 2010 after the cruise. Most likely then, our next WDW vacation could very well be as DVC owners. In a little while, I will show her some pics of the DVC properties. I think we would like to buy a resale at either AKV or BCV.

shes loading the video now.
anyone with a SPH cabin will be switching after seeing this video.
:rotfl2: :lmao:

Now you're talking! And show her properties you think she'll like. PM me if you want the name of a fantastic sales guy - no pressure. You can even let him know now you're interested, that way if something comes up as a good deal, he can let you know.

Only about 15 more pages, and this thread will be closing..........here we go again........;)

I am thinking we will start small if we do decide to do this. We would be able to borrow or bank points to maximize according to our needs without spending a fortune. All during trick or treating last night I was reading up on DVC ownership. At dinner I kept saying to the kids, "do you want me to buy a place to stay at Disneyworld?"

Perhaps on the cruise, I can solicit all of my DVC BOBer friends to help me with some further convincing! This may end up being a 2009 Family Christmas gift.

Very cute! So you know where every SPH cabin is? And you will be paying each one a visit, even if you have to hang over the side of the ship? :lmao:

i know where all the sph cabins the bobbers are in.:thumbsup2
and i bought a dcl maintenance workers outfit on ebay so i can get around the secret parts of the ship.:rolleyes1

OK, good night all, I'm done in for the night..............:wave2:
