That sounds like fun..
I am sitting here reading about DVC FAQ's. I don't want to spend a fortune and I really hate the thought of annual fees. I am sure I could work those in, but that would be a major sticking point for Elaine. I think we would go to WDW at least every other year, so if we got 100-120 points we should be ok if we borrowed or banked. Maybe after the cruise next year, I will do some major thinking. Maybe our first WDW trip after the cruise can be as DVC members. The odds are long, but improving I think!
Chris Nancy and I have been members since 2001. At that time we were on the fence but we are so glad we did it. As you know Chris both Nancy and I are retired. We arn't the riches people just regular workers who had a family and now are enjoying our second family our DVC friends like Roger and Joanne, Kathy' Mimi and Mack, Mary. Leasha and Tom. I could go on and .on They will be withus on the BOB. We met Roger and Joanne two years ago on a cruise and have become fast friends.
Your still young with kids Chris this is the time to do it so you all can enjoy it for while the kids are young. If not you and your wife enjoy it. I know we do .

Amen, Kathy! It really is worth it and we wish we had done it so much sooner. We always thought we couldn't afford it and that we were already doing Disney on a shoestring. Had we done it earlier, we could have done Disney more often and more nicely than we had. We even took our "once in a lifetime, only time on property trip" before we bought into DVC. We splurged since it would be what we thought was our only time to stay on property. We could have almost paid for our DVC with what we spent on that trip.
Another nod to the DVC and the reasons why. If we had bought when our kids were younger, I can't even begin to imagine the memories we'd have made as a family.
I too wish we had done it earlier. We spent all those years at the all star. I really like having a kitchen. Breakfast would have been so much easier and cheaper ,when they were little. My youngest has been to the beach club with us but DS # 1 has not been. It would have been cheaper if we had sone it in 94 when we got back to the states.
dinner time?? boy you really like that late dining.
we had that late dining last week and hated it.
Add us to the list of those that wish we had bought DVC sooner than we did. We bought while on a cruise on the Magic in 2004 and our only regret is that we hadn't bought sooner while Rachel , now 14, was younger, after all we have been to Disney in one form or another every year since she was 18 months old, if only we had bought then. Hindsight is foresight. The dues really don't bother me, they are deducted from our checking account monthly so it doesn't seem like that big of an expense. I really like going on vacation and not have a hotel bill though! I also like having the extra room that DVC provides us along with the kitchen and the washer and dryer right in the "room".
Our Trick-or-Treat time just ended. I think we had about 150 kids come by. The kids in our subdivision are getting big, we had more "older" kids, high schoolers and middle schoolers, than we did little ones.
well theres about 1,000 pages to read and my bride is a perfectionist.
she'll read every page.
the kids are really excited about it.

Seriously, there are a lot of papers for DVC? I'd have my attorney read that over before I bought.
not many in there tonight so it wasn't bad
we're thinking of letting cassie use some points for honeymoon in may.
