I thought I would share a quick feel good story. A beloved veteran teacher (30+ years in elem. P.E. and lead teacher) had an aneurism last year and lost most of his leg. His insurance wouldn't pay for the expensive leg he needed in order to come back to work and he retired (he could have for some time). His doctor appealed the decision three times. When our community found out when we all came back to school this year, a committee to raise funds formed immediately. Today was Mr. C day.

The honor society that I sponsor at our middle school was in charge of the carwash. We washed 2 and 3 cars at a time from 9-12!!! The kids were great. There were several other activities going on. The biggest was a walk-a-thon. The whole community participated in one way or another.

We reached our goal of $25,000 for the new prosthesis. He'll be able to play golf again and enjoy his retirement!:grouphug:

Fantastic Tanya. Good for Mr C. :yay: :yay: :yay:

:yay:

We were upgraded to Deck 5. It beats Deck 2. :woohoo:

Congrats! Which cabin did you get???

So sorry to hear this,

I'm not going either, but stay on the boards and chat with us:)

Perhaps we'll all meet up again for KK3!
(Alaska?)

KK3 to Alaska sounds perfect to me Rose. We're all over that one. :thumbsup2

OH,:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
I want to be a Bob'er Tiara Tart too!

I only need about $4000 and a tiara!:wizard:

I was going to offer to buy you the Tiara but I see Karen already did. So, I'll offer to make your T-shirt instead. Some of those lucky Wisconsinites with the Money Trees can help with the cruise cost. (My trees are "nekkid")!:sad2:

Good luck Cass! I managed to get four miles in today which is the best I've managed in a week. I've felt so cruddy this past week since I started this third batch of drugs that I haven't done anything. Needless to say I will not meet my weight loss goal for the trip next month. :sad2:

Good job on the 4 miles B. I drove at least 100 yesterday...does that count for anything? :goodvibes But, if I looked as good as you did in that black dress you wore for Jason's party, I wouldn't worry about a thing. I'll say it again...you looked HOT!!

Howdy All, decided to take it a little easy on myself today after yesterday's marathon. Only did a 75 minute workout burning off 800 calories.

Looking over the Sunday paper, then heading off to church. We have a guest speaker this weekend. Sujo John and his wife were each in one of the towers on 9-11-01, they both were able to get out and survive that dreadful day. Sujo will be sharing their experience with us, and the miracle how they both got out alive.

 I finally figured out what you mean by hot ... I did get some sun that day and was a little warm but I didn't think it showed in the pictures. :rotfl2:

Honestly MG, the next time I see you I'm giving you a huge huge huggle. :goodvibes

Sounds interesting Andy. I'd love to hear that story myself.

Yes, enquiring minds want to know!!

I haul a$$ for 45 minutes on my elliptical and only burn about 400 calories! :scared:

Rose, I will race ya for laziest person alive....you go first! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

At least you're getting yourself on that elliptical:thumbsup2
I haven't been going to my gym in months:sad2:

Hey I like that!
I drove about 3000 going down to Florida back up to South Carolina for a visit and then home again to New York.... but that didn't do nothing either:sad2:

Didn't help I was drinking 2 iced vanilla lattes a day!
Hey I was on VACATION!
Not to mention that Starbucks was having that deal where you can buy any grande drink before 2pm and then after 2 pm get a iced grande drink for only $2! I had to have that discounted one every day of vacation:)

You're too funny MG!!! :lmao:

And I agree with you about Miss Bendy...she already looks so good she could eat every offering at those F&W festival booths and still look "hot" ;)

Does Joanne's Member Cruise leave today or was it yesterday and I missed it?? :confused3

Just in case I forget...Mel, EB, Amelia and Ernie, have a wonderful vacation! We'll expect tons of great pictures when you return.

It was very moving to say the least. Hazel and I went though many tissues this morning. Sujo was on the 81st floor of the North Tower when the first plane hit, his wife worked on the 71st floor of the South Tower. She was four months pregnant at the time and arrived late for work that day. By the time she arrived, her building had already been hit with the second plane. Sujo shared it took him about one hour to get down the stairwell. Once out of the building he headed to the South Tower to look for his wife, since he couldn't reach her with his cell phone.

As Sujo was approaching the South Tower is started to come crashing down. He was standing with a group of about 15 people and only he and one other man, an FBI agent survived. As they were leaving the area, the FBI agent went in to the North Tower to try and help people get out. Later Sujo found out that this FBI agent died when the North Tower came crashing down.

Sujo, his wife and family, now live in Dallas, Texas. Sujo and his wife had only arrived in the USA, from India, in February 2001.

hi tanya are your boys watching the golf?????

Not really. Just flipping channels between church, lunch, and DD's voice recital later this afternoon. She's dreading it. She is singing Lori's suggestion Remember When and I think she'll be fine.
