Wanna hear what happened at work last week?



My boss got fired!! She was scheduled to have a meeting with our VP on Thursday at 4:30. She called us in the project room 15 minutes later and said she was on her way home because she had gotten fired.

None of us 3 team members were the least bit upset, because she was such a hindrance to the project. She was always given directives which she never finished. When they were close to being due, she would pass them off to someone else and blame them for not doing them.

So the joke around the project room is... If the VP ever wants to schedule a 4:30 meeting with you...DON"T GO!!!

I'd be POO POOing bricks.

Then on Friday, I got another promotion. It was a good week.

Ike's been up this way too I think as we've had a very wet weekend ourselves all the way up here in Wisconsin. It poured on our way home late last night and the interstate became flooded at points. There were cars and trucks (including 18 wheelers) in ditches. (Hello people....slow down!)

The storm stayed south of us, but we still got a lot of rain from the front that came through (this was the one that steered Ike to the NE).

My parents were the only ones in our families who had water in the house. They only had enough to cover the baseboards, but even that much ruined the carpets. Yesterday, they ripped out all of their carpets and started drying out the floors. Much less damage than last time, thank God. The A/C wasn't coming on either and they were hoping that once it dries out, it'll start up again. They plan to put ceramic tile throughout the house now and get area rugs. That way, if and when this happens again, they can just roll up the rugs and take them to higher ground. All in all, they feel very blessed, because it could have been much worse.

Glad they faired pretty good given the circumstances. Good idea of installing the tile. That will make clean up a lot easier if they unfortunately get hit again.
