10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Not too much snow in Colorado. But it is freezing!!! It's -15 outside right now . At least we get to be in the Florida sun in a couple months!

We're getting the cold tonight. I had a 5 1/2 foot drift up against the back of my house. The snow on the drive was probably 24"-30". But summer will be here in 5 months and the cruise in less than 9!

I did see those. They're oddball alright. I've heard that they still have good headroom. But I think I know why some are handicap accessible and some aren't. It's those support poles. I'm thinking that they block wheelchair mobility. Biggest bummer about the rooms are the extreme slant and placement of the windows. Can't really enjoy the view as much as the regular cabins. You just get the benefit of the natural lighting. But if it's extra room you want, those rooms look like you could really stretch out in them.

They are big, but oddly laid out. Did you read where they put the pull down (out of the ceiling) bed in the 9A Corners on Deck 8?

It is on the other side of the main bed where the picture with the ships are. It is not anywhere near where the sofa bed is. So for you with two kids, you'll have one on one side and the other on the opposite side. Plus there is now privacy curtain.

I think they just threw those room together to fill space.

I agree, it has light, it is big, but it doesn't give the views that the normal rooms do. Luckily, I have an 8C on hold also that I may switch to.

It'll be our 17th Disney cruise and the 2nd on the Dream.

Welcome! Wow! 17 under the belt! At the rate I'm going the year I may get there some day. I just booked my 6th cruise for early next year.

They'll appeal to some people. DCL is betting on that. I heard there was dome grumbling about the placement of the beds. Truth be told there are plenty of circumstances where I'd like to separate my kids! Lack of privacy will be a problem though. I'm interested on finding out what creative solutions either DCL or creative DIS type come up with to solve the problem.

We are back to back....4 night oct 23 & then 3 night oct 30.


And to all of our fellow cruisers being pelted by this bad weather....lots of warmth & pixie dust coming your way. I am from the south & we shut things down with an inch or 2 of snow, so I cannot even fathom what you guys are going through. Stay warm & safe.

Depends. I see you're doing B2B2B So, when does your first cruise start? If it's this one it'll be our 3rd cruise together but if you are on the Oct 20th sailing then this particular cruise will be our fourth together. Did I succeed in confusing you enough?

Thanks Jeff. I was thinking about that party idea that you had. Started searching images and saw the one of Mickey and friends sliding and knew what I had to do. The words are from one of my favorite Moody Blues tunes.
