Cast of Characters are myself and DH in our 50's and adult DS 30. We were on the DDP and here specifically for our 5th Food & Wine Festival.
This was our first full day at Disney and we were spending it at Epcot. We did Future World early in the day and near noon we were hungry. We headed to the French Bakery in France for a DDP CS lunch. We arrived around noon. The staff seemed a bit confused by our wanting to use DDP credits for a CS vs just as snack credits. It took a little communication to work it out. We were able to get a sandwich, a dessert and a soft drink for 1 CS credit each.
We all got the Ham and Cheese croissant, heated. It was heavenly. It was warm. flakey, tart and warmed just right!!! We each chose a different dessert. DH had the Lemon Tart which was like a little Lemon Meringue pie. I tasted it and it was really good. DS had an Eclair, which had a chocolate filling, which surprised us all. I had the Chocolate Mousse and it was wonderful, light fluffy and very chocolate. We had soft drinks.
Our TS ADR this day was at Marrakesh in Morroco. We like it here and eat here each trip.
I had "Chicken Bastilla - baked layers of thin pastry stuffed with minced chicken and almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar" as an appetizer. This was a first for me. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It was a bit too sweet for my taste. For my entree I had " Roast Lamb Meshoui - roasted lamb in natural juices". It was great. I love lamb and this was falling off the bone tender. Delicious. I couldn't finish it all.
DH and DS each had the " Marrakesh Royal Feast - Harira soup, Beef Brewat Rolls, Lemon Chicken, Roasted Lamb Meshoui, Couscous with Seven Vegetables, and Assorted Moroccan pastries " and were as happy as could be. (DH and DS have a pattern of ordering the same meal most of the week
)
I had the "Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds" for dessert. In the past I have said that this is the best dessert I have ever had anywhere (and I like dessert). This time, however, the Bastilla was a little burned, and all in all it was just okay.
I was disappointed.
We think Marrakesh is a great restaurant. It is beautifully tiled. The wait staff are warm and attentive, and the food is good, and the Belly Dancer and Band are fun.
We will be back
