hey guys and gals! Underdogs back. (hide the chics.;))

my parents spend the winters in Clearwater Fl and my dad can no longer drive there (health reasons), so my brother in law drove their car to Fl while they flew and he asked me to ride along with him and help keep him awake (since i'm not allowed to drive either.)

He drove 18 straight hrs last Monday and we had a great week of sunshine and palm trees.:thumbsup2 I will admit it killed me watching the signs as we drove on I-4 right past all the Disney exits.:sad1:(without stopping):sad1:

My parents arrived wednesday morning and we picked them up at the airport, helped them get settled, got groceries etc and we flew home this weekend.

I had a great week but i sure did miss my Sweet Polly.

Welcome back Mr. Dawg :wave2:

Yes, lots of pics Becky! :thumbsup2

So....what's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? :yay:

We're going to my SIL's house. She's an amazing cook and will be making the bird and stuffing. My job is the mashed potatoes, the green bean casserole and a Cherries in the Snow Trifle. YUM!!! My other SIL is also bringing stuff to eat.

I have to work on Friday and will be missing out on my favorite day of the year! I LOVE Black Friday and will be sitting here at work giving people loans instead. :rolleyes1 We usually get all our shopping done on this day. Gifts are then wrapped and given to Santa to bring back with his goodies on Christmas Eve.:banana::banana:

We're spending the day with my parents. It's funny. As much as I love my parents and Laura's parents. I still feel a flicker of annoyance that I'm not spending my holiday at home with Laura and the Kids. I spend so much time away that I hate it when I have to spend a holiday away from home AND watching my kids like a hawk to make sure their behaving. Just more relaxing in my own kingdom.

that would be great if you guys could join us!:thumbsup2:wizard:

I guess I'll know more today. I'm actually off today, but I'm going into the ER to knock out some paperwork.

i can relate Steve. Years ago we would have loved to have Thanksgiving once in awhile with just Robin and i and the kids. But Robins mom and my mom always insisted we have 2 turkeys dinners every year. A 12 noon one and a later one for the the other mom.:upsidedow No matter how much we ate, the other ones mom would say "oh you're not eating here because you're saving room for your moms ":upsidedow you could never win.

I'M BACK! Weather was great, little cool but great. Crowds were horrible yesterday. I think everyone in So Cal was there! We were lucky and got there first thing and got the big ticket items out of the way. Well everything except Small World :( I'm incredibly sore from doing 13 hours straight, but it was worth it. Christmas time is my favorite. Next stop WDW in March to see a very good friend of mine from the UK

As for Thanksgiving. Just Sean, Sarah, and I. We were supposed to go see my mom but she's sick.....again. What's the deal with these ER nurses getting sick all the time!

welcome back Beckster!!:yay:
next trip for us is WDW in May.:wizard: They should be coming out with flight schedules any day now for that trip.:3dglasses

Yay! Glad you had a great time.

Well, the likelyhood that I join you guys has just taken another step toward reality. On Monday, my boss approved my vacation so I had no worries. Unfortunately, my co-workers that I was cruising with do not have that freedom. The fear that all their hard work and planning would come to nothing when the hospital changed their vacation policies. As a result they all cancelled. Sooooo, I have a big decision to make. I can keep my vacation as planned (No changes in airfare so no wasted money) or sail with you and cancel my trip to WDW (kinda depends upon how much the airline is going to stab me for ticket changes) and a third option as Jeff is giving me the full court press to join him on the Dream for a B2B. (that's pretty attractive too! New Ship, never been to Nassau, two trips to CC and Gold status once the second cruise is over) So much to decide! Laura really wants to go on this one and even with all the reasons to go on the new ship, I lean that direction too. So, I'll be talking to my bro, who has not yet made up his mind on where he's going on Thanksgiving, then I'll rebook on Monday.

BTW, I may be planning a very short before or after trip to WDW for MNSSHP. Are many planning on that and if so is it pre-cruise or post-cruise?

Sean and I are planning to come in the Thursday before the cruise and possibly leaving the Sunday after. I'm sure there will be a trip to MNSSHP in there somewhere. I know F&W for sure that Thursday before. We'll be staying at WDW vs staying at a hotel by the port this time around.

I agree with Laura, Nassau is not the greatest port out there. Only safe place I would take the kids would be the Atlantis, and only through Disney. To much bad stuff going on from what I have read, plus people are extremely pushy. For that reason I am willing to wait until the Fantasy is sailing. Well that and the fact that AFEG and Jeff are great people, but the awesome group is sailing on the Magic. ;)

couldnt agree more Becky!!:cutie:

we've been to Nassau twice...no desire to go back. although the new ship is nice i'm sure, we'll wait a year for the Fantasy.:wizard:
and who can resist the chance to cruise with some lifelong loyal friends!:grouphug::grouphug:

we're going to the MNSSHP but not sure when yet. Robins going to try and get a few days off before the cruise. the day we get off the ship we'll be staying at AKV again for sure.:dance3:

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends south of the border! I sure am envious of your extra long weekend.... and all the turkey and pie you'll all be eating.:cloud9:
