I'm leaving for DL on Sunday. Going with a friend, will be flying in Sunday and coming home Tuesday Love DL all decorated for Christmas!

So....what's everyone doing for Thanksgiving?

We're going to my SIL's house. She's an amazing cook and will be making the bird and stuffing. My job is the mashed potatoes, the green bean casserole and a Cherries in the Snow Trifle. YUM!!! My other SIL is also bringing stuff to eat.

I have to work on Friday and will be missing out on my favorite day of the year! I LOVE Black Friday and will be sitting here at work giving people loans instead. We usually get all our shopping done on this day. Gifts are then wrapped and given to Santa to bring back with his goodies on Christmas Eve.

I'm headed up to Greenwich to have Thanksgiving with Frank. We're going out to dinner and then to see Harry Potter. We are headed to the mall, bright and early, on Black Friday. We never really buy that much - we just like to walk around and have a nice lunch. In the afternoon we're going to see Tangled.

My work is literaly a block or two from a major mall here. It's actually the same mall Chuck and I hit up every Black Friday. I'm going to park my car at work, hop into Chuck's car and take it over to the mall at 4:00 a.m.! We can shop a little (the kids gifts are just about done anyway) and people watch until almost 9:00 when I have to be at work. I won't miss out on my shopping, just the rest of the day.

Have fun with Frank next week. Will he be making an appearance on our thread anytime soon Kathy?

A lot of the stores around here are already opening super early (3:00 am) on Fridays. Lots of Pre-Black Friday deals so far.

Just poking my head in here. Call me a Friend-of-the-Parley Cruise for now. Looks like my job may force me to change my cruise date. And this is the one that I'll choose. I already have some most excellent friends on this cruise. We'll see. Monday is the big day. If I have to change my plans it'll end up costing me BIG! But the offset is that I'll be cruising with great people on an EASTERN Cruise (which is nice) and I see that you guys haven't yet hogged up all of the SPH cabins.

Well if you do and that it's going to cost you. How did you find air already? I haven't found anything for October yet. Not that I can buy them, but I've been looking.

Your cruise is still outside of the 331 day rule. We were leaving on Sept 24th for a week in WDW and then a week on the Magic. The return date of Oct 8th was also within that time frame. I'm guessing that for round trips you need to wait until 331 days before your return date and then you'll see them pop up.

Thanks Nancy! We were also secretly happy. I talked with Laura at length last night about what she wanted to do. We have the option of delaying our cruise next year and keeping our WDW trip (free dining!) or cancelling the WDW portion (since we'd lose the free dining) and rescheduling the cruise (Which was attractive but unfortunately, my co-workers who I was to be cruising with are not so flexible. They're looking at delaying for at least a year!)

Then there was the decision as to what to do. Do we reschedule for the Magic and do the Eastern (which we love!) with you guys or Back to Back Dream Cruises with Jeff and AFEG. That too was a real big decision. The Back to Back would be slightly more expensive as I would have to upgrade my room to at least an 8c. but we'd go to CC twice in a week (a great plus in my book!) AND since it counts as two cruises we'd have 5 cruises under our belts and our next cruise would be that much cheaper. Ultimately, our Magic Home won out. Laura says that she really prefers the Eastern Itinerary and she's already been to Nassau on a previous cruise (B.S.- Before Steve) and didn't care for it enough to go twice in a week.

I'm going to talk with my boss on Monday. The hospital is for the first time ever going to change their policy on the annual skills seminar. Usually it was mandatory but you could do a make up on a later date if you were on vacation. Now, they want to mandate that no vacations are taken during the week of the seminar. That week is supposed to fall right on the week of our Cruise (Oct 1-8) If that happens then I'll need to reschedule our vacation. Since I bought the plane tickets already. (I had Frequent Flyer miles for two tickets and you have to jump on that early if you want any selection at all!) This has the potential to cost me quite a bit. I'm hoping that since we are so far out from the flight date the airline will change the dates for little or nothing. (I saw something to that effect on Continental's website.) I haven't made any calls yet to check into change fees. I've heard that they can be up to $150 but I don't know if that is per reservation or per person or per person/origination-destination pair. Worse case scenario is that it'll cost me about $900 to make the change which is what I paid for the tickets in the first place.

P.S. I told Laura that you, the Dyers and Walt and Di were on this one and she was practically giddy with excitement!

hey guys and gals! Underdogs back. (hide the chics.)

my parents spend the winters in Clearwater Fl and my dad can no longer drive there (health reasons), so my brother in law drove their car to Fl while they flew and he asked me to ride along with him and help keep him awake (since i'm not allowed to drive either.)

He drove 18 straight hrs last Monday and we had a great week of sunshine and palm trees. I will admit it killed me watching the signs as we drove on I-4 right past all the Disney exits.(without stopping)

My parents arrived wednesday morning and we picked them up at the airport, helped them get settled, got groceries etc and we flew home this weekend.

I had a great week but i sure did miss my Sweet Polly.
