Me- Mom to Ken, Dan, Tom
DH
Ken- 10
Dan- 8 1/2
Tom- 7 1/2
Woke up early to get Animal Kingdom for opening. I must have the only kids in the world who would rather sit in the hotel room and play LEGOs then go to Disney!!!
We arrived at AK around 8:15am and I was surprised by the huge line of people waiting outside. After investigating, we found out the changed the park hours the night before to 9am-5pm.
They did let us in at 8:30, but the attractions were not open. We got right in to see "Tough to be a Bug"... the boys and DH loved it! We then walked throughout the park and I was amazed by the beauty of this park. It definetely lacks rides, but the theming of this park is incredible. It was my first visit to this park and after reading some reviews on the boards, we almost did not go. I am glad we did!
We got a fastpass for Kilimanjaro Safari and that was fun! We saw so many animals (around 11am). The boys were amazed at the animals and kept asking if they were real. This was a great experience.
Although I have never visited AK, I thought it was pretty crowded even though the park is so big. We only stayed here for 3 hours... I could have used a few more hours, but hunger took over the kids!
We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe for lunch. The atmosphere is what makes this restaurant so fun! We have a Rain Forest membership card and we were seated immediately. The kids loved it... food was pretty good.
When we left AK, it started to POUR!!! Next, we went to MGM and the crowds were not bad. We went on Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster first. Ken and Dan loved it. Tommy decided he did not want to go on any rides, so DH and I went on the rides with the older boys. They loved Star Tours and they enjoyed the Backstage tour.
We only stayed 3 hours. When we left it was still pouring and we could not find our rental car. I swear they all look alike! After 30 minutes or so, we found it and returned (very wet) to the hotel.
Tomorrow... move on to Universal and Hard Rock Hotel
