Sorry to be a pain, Christopher, but if you could also ask for ages of the kids, that would be helpful to me. I still have no idea what I'm giving!

wow - our roll call has over 70 people (if i'm counting correctly)..

that's incredible!!!

i hope we can have an actual meet at some point that everyone is able to attend - so we have some faces to go with the names!!

i love being able to say "hi" to people i know on the ship!! somehow it makes it that much friendlier a cruise! :goodvibes

I am also going to move the deadline for sign up for the FE to Friday 21 September. This will ensure that participants have plenty of time to prepare their items.

Thanks for bringing this up Beth.....

It is common that the Disboard groups meet on the first day just prior to the Life Boat Drill. May I recommend from 3 15 to 3 45 in the Family Zone area on Deck 13 Forward, Port Side.

This is a great chance to put a face to the names we have been talking to through this whole build up. And I agree that it is nice to be able say hello to each other as you walk around the ship.....and you never know....my last sailing on the Dream, all the people at my table just happened to be from the Disboard group as well.

Other ideas.......

If many of us plan to arrive early and will be waiting around in the terminal for our boarding time to begin, we could arrange a meeting location to be able to say hello there too.

Also, I have in the past arranged an evening drinks gathering for the adults to be able to sit down in one of the many lounges and share their day with each other. I am happy to throw this schedule together again for this cruise if this is of interest.

I think that all sounds great! Can't believe we're just 2 months out now... The kids are counting down with a paper link chain we made last week that stretches across our family room. They're so excited :)

So I was wondering since this will be our first 'fall' cruise, how we should pack... I know it should be relatively mild in FL and we're of course heading to the Bahamas, so are you all bringing your summer clothes back out for the trip? Like summery dresses for the girls, that kind of thing?? Or will you be bringing more of what you're currently wearing that time of year?

Sounds great Christopher!
I assume I'll board right away so there won't be much opportunity for me in the terminal but I would love a meet before the muster drill as well as an adult meet for drinks in one of the lounges!!! :)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I'm also up for meet and great before drill. And cocktail hour sounds great! I'm just waiting for my room number....making me anxious....but I know Christopher said we'll work it out if I don't get assigned until embarking. I just wish they would assign me already....LOL

We'll be heading back to the states Sept 4th. We'll be home in Florida until Nov 7. Not looking forward to the long 29 hour trip home (that's door to door, the actual flight is 16 hrs to Newark and then 3 hours to Florida, plus travel) But this time I"ll be doing it by myself with my 2 sons ages 2 and 5. YIKES!!! DH will be heading back to the states a few days prior to go to California for training on a new airplane.

Having never cruised before, and traveling with 3 young kids, I'm afraid of scheduling much - especially the first day! But please let me know the details, and I'll try to stop by.

You'd never know from all my time spent here, but I'm actually not good with plans! Well - plans that affect someone besides my family, I guess!

Oh, I saw on the Disney cruise blog that our sailing won't have special Halloween activities. :(

But the 25th and 28th do.

I'm actually ok with not having limitless candy at my children's fingertips!

well you HAVE to go to the muster drill...no way around that no matter who you're traveling with..

and if we follow Christopher's suggestion our meet will be right before the muster drill - so that's really kind of a perfect time, since you're not really doing anything right then since you have to be ready to go to the muster drill....

so it will be 'easy' for you....just bring your whole group along and meet all the other nutcases in our roll call!! :)
based on the list, there will be lots of kids..

the cocktail meet might be more of a challenge for you, but you don't have to commit now to anything....you'll know when everything is and if you can come - GREAT!! :)

Hi everyone! I've cruised several times before, but this will be our first cruise with the kids...and our first Disney cruise!! I'm very excited, but a little nervous about traveling with my little guy. He's 2, and we are planning on putting him in the nursery for a couple of hours each night so we can take our older son to the show. First of all, have any of you used the nursery before? If yes, were your kids able to fall asleep (and stay asleep) in there? Second of all, will our 4-year-old even enjoy the shows each night, or should we plan on having him skip them?

What are the main dining rotation options for the cruise? Trying to decide what I should request to work with our adult dining. Is there an option with animators palate on the first day and enchanted garden on the last or vice versa? That would be the best!!!! As we have remy on day 2 and palo day 3.

WELCOME.....you are in for such a treat...dcl is the BEST!!!! I don't know much about the nursery but the staff at both are AMAZING. The first time we brought our DS he was not yet 3 but potty trained and they let him join the oceaneers club but since he was still so young they would often let him go to the nursery and play....but didn't charge me the nursery fees.....they really go above and beyond there....I'm sure you'll be happy

The shows are great...but it all depends on your child's attention span!!!!

Sierra, we put in a request for ERAA, which sounds like it'd be perfect for you. We opted for a late dinner at Palo in the third night - after CC - which should be pirate night. We have 3 young kids, so we plan to go to early dinner with them, then go up to the first pirate show, which is from 7:45-8:05, then check them in at the club, go to Palo at 8:30. Eat relatively quickly. Pick them up and be on our aft balcony for fireworks at 10:30.

I think this works! (But it is our first cruise!)

I think Christopher suggested having the meet up on deck so even if you're all in the pool or using the aqua duck and in your swim suits, the meet will be outside on deck, so you won't feel weird about being wet from the pool....

also, they shut everything down on the ship about 15 minutes before the muster drill - so it won't be as if you're taking your kids away from anything...and they'll be on deck, so they won't really even notice you've taken them anywhere :)..... it's just another place on the ship to explore!!

we have early dining....i personally prefer late dining, but my mom and sister wanted early dining, so that's what we have...
i requested starting with Animators though i don't know if that was stupid to do or not..
i probably should have requested the more adult rotation...i know they usually have a more adult/less adult rotation and i somehow doubt it would be the one that starts in AP....
but i thought i should start my mom and sister in the most disney of the restaurants.....don't know if that's wise or not since i've heard that AP is terribly noisy...
but i'll leave it at that...

i have no idea what the rotation will be if we start in Animators...maybe AERR?
