10-21-12 Dream!!!

We're thinking about booking this cruise for a fall getaway (can't find many room choices at WDW the week of 10/20-25, and started talking about this cruise last night on our nightly dog walk).
For those who've booked dining, etc, we were curious: are Remy, Palo dinner, and Palo brunch all booked up already? (except what they hold for those who book those on embarkation day)

We'll know in a week or two if we'll be joining you!

I just took a looked (5 10 PM Eastern Time) and found that there are plenty of open reservations available for both the Palo and Remy Dinner on all nights for party of two. There appears to be some availability for Brunch but it is very limited.

Let us know if you decide to join us and we will happily add you to the roll call!

Thanks for checking for us! This cruise is looking more and more tempting. On our 4 night Dream last October, Palo brunch (and I think Palo dinner and even Remy) were gone by the Silver CC booking window (90 days).

Just in case, I've already booked a hotel in the Orlando area for 10/20, with a 10/21 checkout.

lots of concierge left - i'm sure there will be cheap port upgrades available!
(and i'll have to not think about how much i'm paying in comparison!!)

Thanks again for checking. They've changed the web site since last year, and its taking me a bit to navigate. Pages are loading slowly, as I research adult dining :badpc:

Welcome to the cruise! I hope you can get all the dining you want...which I think you should be able to...it looks pretty open.

Thanks for bringing this up Beth.....

It is common that the Disboard groups meet on the first day just prior to the Life Boat Drill. May I recommend from 3 15 to 3 45 in the Family Zone area on Deck 13 Forward, Port Side.

This is a great chance to put a face to the names we have been talking to through this whole build up. And I agree that it is nice to be able say hello to each other as you walk around the ship.....and you never know....my last sailing on the Dream, all the people at my table just happened to be from the Disboard group as well.

Other ideas.......

If many of us plan to arrive early and will be waiting around in the terminal for our boarding time to begin, we could arrange a meeting location to be able to say hello there too.

Also, I have in the past arranged an evening drinks gathering for the adults to be able to sit down in one of the many lounges and share their day with each other. I am happy to throw this schedule together again for this cruise if this is of interest.

I've only been on the dream one time before so i'm not exactly sure where the family zone is...I looked on the deck maps but don't see anything labelled as family zone...is that where the putt putt and ping pong table are...ALSO remind me again which side is portside...LOL...if standing on the ship looking forward?

Facing forward, port is on the left :)

We're officially booked!

Welcome aboard. I will add you to the Roll Call. I assume you are leaving Max at home.

Let me know if you are interested in participating in the Fish Extender Exchange.

The Family Zone is on the left side toward the front of the ship. You need to access it through the 18+ area on Deck 12 that sits above the adult pool on Decl 11. You should see a directional sign that says "Family Zone" on the stairway leading up from Deck 12. Putt Putt is in the Goofy Sports Zone which is to the rear of the ship on Deck 12.

i saw something on facebook about halloween and the cruise. does anyone know if theyre gonna be doing anything for halloween this year? i know they did something in 09 but then didnt have it the following year. I miss it. It was pretty awesome!

I was just going to ask this! :thumbsup2 I am a HUGE fan of Halloween :stir: so I realllllly am hoping they will do something!! I called DCL a couple of weeks ago for something ( I don't recall what :confused3 ) and asked them but they had no idea either.. the guy I spoke with said they won't release the news if they are planning on doing something until right before.. but who knows :confused3? Maybe someone else has heard something... ::crossing fingers::

Me too. I LOOOOOOOOVE halloween. Best thing about October i think haha. My wedding theme is going to be halloween as well. I can never get enough halloween. haha. Ok thats good to know, i hope they do something this year again. I know back in 09 we got a letter in the mail i believe when we recieved our documents about it. Hmm i hope someone else knows something. That would be awesome to have people dressed up in halloween costumes on the ship

my sister was born on october 31 - halloween - so she thinks that all halloween parties are expressly for her!!! :)

we're going to to the halloween party at WDW before the cruise..

and we're going to a halloween party at greenfield village (in detroit) when we get back from the cruise...

she too was hoping there would be something on the ship, but in the DCL halloween announcements, our cruise wasn't mentioned.....the ones right after ours will have a halloween party....so i guess ours won't...

Aww thats cool and funny that she thinks that all halloween parties are for her.

Yeah we're also doing Mickeys not so scary on the 18th a whole bunch of us. Its me and my mom's tradition every year when we go for our birthdays we go and do that too but even though we're doing the fantasy 3 weeks before this cruise for our birthdays we wont be doing Mickey's since we're doing it the night before the wedding. . aw thats not cool :worried: back in 09 it was for the whole month of October.

that's when we're going...on the 18th!!! i have the tickets - i've had them since about the first day they were released..

my sister just bought what we're going to wear (she got it online)..

i don't know if my mom will agree to it, but if so we'll be a matched set!! :)

not saying what it is, but i told my sister we need to wear it on the ship too :)

she said she's not committing yet - first wants to see how it looks on...

i'm planning on getting lots and lots of candy to bring on the ship :)!!
(though knowing me, i'll probably eat it all before the weekend is out!!)

So bummed! Let's start a petition! ;)

I wish :-) ha! We are going to be at WDW too on the 18th.. though I'm still trying to decide if the mnsshp is going to be worth it :-) we love Halloween and dressing up and everything but I dunno.. we are trying to be thrifty and there's always Dland next year..
