10/20/2013 Disney Magic Miami Double Dip

Booking went really well for us, got all our picks and booked the 10 hours we were allowed to pre-book for the nursery so we can do Palo and the shows. Anyone else have booking wins or woes? :)

All checked in:goodvibes

We are platinum, but unfortunately for us (fortunately for other people) we have no interest in a Cabana, or prebooking anything that is necessary to do ASAP. Being Platinum doesn't even require a port arrival time, which was my only concern. Now to just sit and wait!!!

In my experience with the nursery the last 2 years, we had no problem getting additional time. They only let you book 10 hours so that everyone has a chance. We did drop ins most nights as well!! So happy that my littlest is now 3, as well as potty trained so we will be able to use the club.:cool1:

OK, you can officially add my parents, Jeff & Karen, to the list of those coming on this cruise too! :cool1: It will be all of our first Disney Cruise. Can't wait!

We got cabana #6 for both days and Palo brunch for 11:30.

Just trying to decide if we should do an excursion in Nassau or just wander around a bit. The chocolate making excursion sounds interesting.

Less then four months to go.
Reserved hotel Indigo in Dadeland for $100 a night.
Reserved car at Avis.
Paid in full for the cruise.

If all goes well (flying on stand-by) we are coming in at MIA at 11.45 p.m., go to the hotel, have a good night sleep, pick up the car and have two days in Miami for shopping and sightseeing.

Looking forward to the two Casteway Cay days on our cruise.

The chocolate excursion looks us nice too

My one word to the wise would be to make sure you know what your dining rotation is before booking. The three potential rotations are:
LACCL, ACLLA, CLAAC.

Since this is our very first cruise, we can't book anything for awhile yet! But, I was wondering if anyone can request one of the dining rotations? Would I ask my TA to request our favorite of those three? Or is it just luck of the draw? Also when do you find out what rotation you get, is it just on check in day or do you find out when your booking window opens?

Thanks!
Gina

Hello Gina!

Yes, your TA can request a dining rotation for you. Unfortunately, you will not know if you receive it until you check in at the port and receive your Key to the World cards; it's printed on there.

Good luck and welcome :)

I booked this cruise quite a while back, as it was the only DD I could find. This will be our 2nd cruise (2nd time on the Magic). I need to call and finish paying, upgrade my cabin & request my dining plan (I hope to get LACCL). We are on 2nd seating.

I have read through a lot of this thread, what is the chocolate excursion??

I also sent a request to the FB page.

I think you were on my cruise last May!

I'll tell the kids that it's just a request. I'm sure we'll be happy with whatever we get.

Yes, I was totally misleading when I said to "make sure" you knew your rotation before booking. What I meant was to "put in your request" which is totally not the same thing, haha. Lots of people don't care, and honestly, I think anyone would enjoy any rotation, I think it only comes in to play when there is a possibility of missing a MDR all together. This is one of those cruises, since no matter which rotation you land, there's going to be one MDR that you only visit for dinner once.

You are all fantastic and I love reading this thread! Thank you all so much for the opinions on Palo - I am definitely going to book dinner, but I might just wait until we are on board to see what our dinning rotation will be. Of the MDRs, Animator's menu thrills me the least, (even though the show is cool) so that might be the night we go. One day I would love to try Palo brunch, but that will have to be next time - I would hate to miss out on any of our sea day! Maybe when I book the EC I have always dreamed about!

Does anyone have an "official" schedule of important events and which nights they will be held? aka dress up night? pirate night?

Ok someone please explain the chocolate excursion. <drool> :stir:

From what I understand you tour a restaurant/hotel chocolate making facilities. Then you get to make your own.

I think we're going to skip Nassau this time. We went roaming around Nassau last cruise.

The chocolate tour does sound interesting. I guess I had this confused with chocolate tasting on the ship. Hmmmm so much chocolate so little time :thumbsup2

Now, does anyone know which nights are dress up and pirate night? :goodvibes
