10/20/2013 Disney Magic Miami Double Dip

I hope they do :D

I just paid ours off last weekend. Super excited!

Bonnie,

They'll let you try them out - I did! I wasn't the only parent trying them out either! None of us got any strange looks - only smiles :)

Oh I totally plan to if they have them lol.

When does the magic start the dry dock?

The DCL Facebook page posted a new video about the Aqua Lab/SplashZone/TwistnSpout this morning. :) Mostly stuff we already know, but a couple little treats. :)

For those of you who have been before, what spa treatments do you recommend? And what time does rainforest close? I was trying to decide whether it could be used after CC or if it closed earlier in the day.

Bonnie, do you have a cabana on CC for one or both days? If only one, go for a couples massage on CC (if your hubby would enjoy).

I've only had my hair styled and a pedicure, but no relaxation treatments. I think a massage may be in order!!

We haven't decided on one or two days. I had been planning two but now rethinking that since we've never gone. Might be nice to have the day to explore both cc and the ship.

Crud! I'm less than one month away from making all my online reservations and such and haven't even thought about it up until this point! Palo is usually a must for us, but not sure about this sailing since we are sailing with friends and their family. We have early dining so maybe I can book a late Palo dinner and we can have a light appetizer with them during regular dining time. Decisions, decisions!

And then there is the issue of a cabana at CC...do we want one or not? If so, which day? Ugh!

No excursions most likely for us (we can easily enjoy CC on our own, and typically just wander around Nassau). I did make a reservation at Comfort Suites in Nassau since I found a $143 rate, and have always wanted to check out the Atlantis. But the $72 fees & taxes they tack on to that throws it over $200, and I'm not sure we would be there more than a couple of hours. If our friends decide one or two of them would like to join us making it more worthwhile, I will keep it otherwise it will probably be tossed. And then I have to decide do we really want to schedule NO excursions?

My only given is PAT...earliest as possible!

Which reminds me, where is everyone staying the night (or two) before? I had contemplated changing our Holiday Inn Coral Gables reservation, but it appears they are finishing up with their renovations and it should be rather nice (like in the old days) so thinking we are sticking with that. I do still have Comfort Suites, La Quinta, and Residence Inn as back-ups but I think with my desire to visit my old UM stomping grounds, we'll stick with Holiday Inn.

Just over 4 months!

Just over 4 months!

Planning on Palo brunch (hoping it won't interfere with the Castaway Club reception). We are going to do Palo dinner on the 2-night cruise following this one on the last night.

We booked the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon. We have friends that recommended it to us - they stated there before their cruise. We chose it because of the Stay & Cruise package - it includes 14 days of parking in a gated parking garage.

Please divulge where you got that rate for Comfort Inn Atlantis. The Aquaventure Waterpark is the ONLY thing we'd like to do there, but probably not this trip!! There are 3 of us, so even over $200 is better than the DCL excursion price.

We are VERY excited in this house and the cruise can't come fast enough!!!

I booked that rate online on the Comfort Inn website...it is a AAA rate, and is good for up to four in the room, although I believe 3rd/4th is an additional $40/person (would need to verify that on their website). It would still be better than the excursion rate.

I am beyond excited and cannot wait for this cruise! And I have a two-week trip to Chicago (home!) coming up in August but all that is on my mind is the Magic!

I think I'm just gonna risk it and Priceline a hotel lol

If I weren't so concerned about visiting friends and the campus, I would probably Priceline a room as well. Alas, we are spending two nights down there for me to "do my thing around town" and I just do not want to risk it!

Oh man! Forgot I need to add a visit down to Robert Is Here in Florida City on Saturday. Man, my day is going to be packed!

Ok, I just looked at my confirmation, and this is what it states:
"Persons 16 and older are charged as adults. 3rd/4th person charged 40.00 per night + tax and service charges."
I don't think that answers anything at all and is not very clear if the 3rd/4th are charged regardless of age, or if that pertains only to anyone 16 and older. As is stated on the confirmation (and when I was going through the booking), the rate is good for up to 4 in the room. Hmmmmmm...you may want to call the hotel directly and ask if there is an additional for your 3rd since she would be under 16. I just tried doing a dummy booking with 2 adults and 1 child and it does not change the rate but gives the same quote as above.

I really just can't believe the prices on our cruise now! And inside staterooms all sold out! Thank goodness we booked when we did.

I haven't even checked prices since all the concierge rooms sold out. I just hope I picked a decent location for our room.

Our fair has nearly doubled! Holy crow!

Isn't that wild? What was once the price of a concierge suite on this sailing is now what you pay for a regular deck 8 veranda. The good news is that I may have finally convinced my honey of the value we got! He was a very tough sell.

Anybody want to start throwing out ideas for a name for our cruise? I was thinking something simple that highlights the first-post-dry-dock sailing, or the double dip. Or both, if someone is clever enough. Thoughts, anyone?

Just booked my airfare today, & only 8 more days until I can check in & get my PAT! It's getting closer!
